Chapter 93 Watch out

Chapter 93 Watch out
The next day, Alec sat in his living room and put a call across to Anita. This time, he hoped Arthur listened to him and stopped whatever he thought he was doing.

After her phone rang for a few minutes, she eventually answered.

“I thought you’d never reach out to me, ever again.” Anita muttered.

“Are you still being followed?” He asked, ignoring her statement.

“Why are you asking? I thought you didn’t care.”

“Anita, are you still being followed?” He further pressed.

“No, okay? I don’t know. I haven’t seen the car since yesterday evening, and it’s not parked anywhere around the house either. Why?”

“Maybe the person gave up already.” Alec answered, letting out a deep sigh.

“The person? I know who is behind it. It’s Arthur.”

“You don’t know for sure, Anita.”

“Of course, I do. Except you are the one following me then.”

“Me?? Why would I ever want to follow you? I have things to do with my time.” Alec answered with a scoff.

“Exactly. You’re not the one who just decided to give his greatest enemy a huge amount of money, just to get rid of her, like it would be so easy. He wants to use that against me, and I have to remind him he’s dealing with Anita.” She responded boastfully.

“Anita, C’mon. Just let him be, okay? At least you’re not being followed anymore. You may not be able to get away with the next thing you’d do.”

“Hm. So you care, don’t you? And why are you so worried about him anyway? Is your love for Aurora now spreading to her ex-husband?” Anita uttered with a chuckle.

“I’m serious, Anita. Just let them be, okay? This is me advising you as a friend.”

“And it’s left for me to take your advice.”

“Fine! You know what, do whatever you want. But don’t say I didn’t warn you.” Alec uttered angrily and hung up the phone.

He let out a frustrated sigh and began to scroll through Aurora’s instagram. She had not posted anything in ages, and it looked like she probably never checked it.

‘It’s not the time to text her, Alec. Control yourself.’ He thought, moving out of her Instagram page.

He got out of bed and walked to his desk, which had about three computers on top of it. He sat in front of the desk and put on his headphones.

He connected to the spy microphone he had planted in Anita’s apartment from the very beginning and began to listen to what was going on in her house.

On the screen was also the live recording of everything going on in Anita’s house. He had gotten the chance to do all these when Anita stepped out of the house.

He still had the keys, so he just went in, planted cameras and spy microphones everywhere in the house, so he could get her the next time she tried something stupid.

He had no idea why he was so bent on making her stop whatever the hell she wanted to do.

‘Maybe I just want her to leave Aurora and her family alone. Maybe I’m just done watching her ruin her life. Or maybe I just hate how evil she is.’ He thought, unable to come up with a correct answer.

While he watched and listened to her, he clenched his jaws as he saw her undress. He gulped hard and stared blankly at her body.

‘I miss that.’ He mumbled, opening his drawer and grabbing a pack of chips.

While she walked around the house naked, she walked to the telephone, next to her bed and dialed a number. In readiness, Alec clicked on the record button as he anticipated what she was about to say on the phone.

“Have you seen him?” He heard her ask.

“Once he steps out, don’t hesitate. I want it done perfectly. No suspicion. It was an accident.”

Alec furrowed his brows as he listened to her. “Who is him? And what was an accident?”

Deep down, Alec knew it was Arthur she was referring to, but who was that?

‘I need to find out who she was talking to. I need to get to her house.’ He thought as he watched her whine and dance happily in her room.

After preparing for work, Arthur headed out of his room and walked to the living room. Just then, he saw the boys were also ready to go to school.

“Theo, I’ll be taking the boys to school today!” Arthur said in a loud voice.

“Won’t you be late for work?” Theo asked, walking out of the kitchen with their lunch boxes in his hands.

“No. I finished pretty early today. And I won’t be having any meetings until 10 .a.m.” He answered, looking at his wrist watch.

“Okay then. I’ll just get busy with cleaning the house. Thank you.” Theo responded, walking out of the house with the boxes so he could put them in Arthur’s car.

The boys followed after him, while Arthur walked behind them with his briefcase in his hand.

They all settled in the car, and Theo waved at the boys as he drove out of the compound.

Hitting the road, Arthur put on some solemn music, vibing with it, while the boys just chatted and did their thing at the back.

He took a glance at the back through the rear mirror and saw a van behind them.

He looked away and kept his attention on the road again. He made a turn into another road, and when he looked into the rear mirror again, he saw the van, closely behind him.

He creased his brows and looked at the van through the side mirror. He tried seeing who the driver was, but all of the van's glasses were tinted.

“Who the hell are you?” Arthur thought, keeping his watch closely on this van. And just to confirm if truly he was being followed, he took another turn.

He looked at the side mirror to see if the van was still behind him and then he realized it was gone.

He heaved a sigh and shook his head. “I overthink these days.” He muttered, and just before he could look at the road in front, he heard the boys yell.

“Daddy, watch out!”

With his eyes back on the road in shock, this same van was already in front of him.

“Fk!” He yelled as he drove crashing into the van.
