Chapter 92 I want her back
“We are?” Theo asked with confusion evident in his voice.
“But what about school?” Rowan asked almost immediately.
“I’ll talk to your teachers about it. Are you not excited to go on a trip? All of us? We should take a break from all the drama in our lives. Just one week, and we’ll be back.” Arthur answered.
“Yayyy!!!” The boys cheered, while Theo stared at Arthur suspiciously.
He strongly believed Arthur’s decision to go on a trip seemed too rushed and not carefully thought about. So, he decided to talk to him about it.
“Boss, can we talk for a second?” He asked, and Arthur nodded, still smiling at the boys. Walking away with Theo, they stood in the dining area.
“What’s happening?” Theo asked him, and he looked at him.
“What do you mean?”
“Why are you coming up with a one week trip all of a sudden? Have you forgotten you said you’ll be serious with work again? You can’t just disappear for a week.” Theo uttered, and Arthur moved closer to him.
“Shh! It’s not going to be a week for me. I just need them out of here because I think Anita is trying to do something stupid, and it may affect the kids. But if they are out of here…”
“Hold on… slow down. What do you mean by Anita is trying to do something stupid? She promised to leave you alone after the money. I knew we could never trust her.”
“Well. I have been stalking her since the day she left this house.” Arthur revealed.
“What?!”
“Shhh!” He shunned him, looking at the living room and he saw the kids were so engrossed in their homework, and didn’t hear Theo yell.
“Why would you do that?! Maybe she was going to leave you alone, why did you have to follow her?!”
“Because I can never trust her! I had to come up with a plan too.”
“And your plan was to follow her? So after following her, what’s next?”
“If she tries something stupid, capture her and deal with her accordingly.”
“Oh No. You can’t do that! Why handle it in an illegal way when you can solve it legally?”
“Legally? How? What will I tell the police she did?! That she drugged me and slept with me, made a video and ruined my wedding?? How does that concern the police? There are no evidence to hold her down.”
“Well, we can come up with something, other than doing it illegally. We just need to think. We can still get her and deal with her using the police. What if she reports to the police that someone is stalking her? Let’s take this slow, okay?”
Arthur heaved a sigh and nodded slowly. “I just want her to suffer. I want her to feel the pain I’ve felt for years!”
“And she will! A woman like her has her doom lurking around her already. If you want to protect the kids, and you, you should get a restraining order against her from the police. So if she tries coming close to you, you can get her arrested for this.” Theo answered.
“But what if she doesn’t violate the restraining order? How do we still make her pay?”
“Trust me, Boss. Someone like her will definitely do something stupid again, and we’ll be able to get her. We just have to be patient and don’t rush it.” Theo answered, and Arthur let out a sigh.
“I’ll talk to a friend of mine in the police department. He should be able to help all of us with the restraining order. Do you think I should get it for Aurora too??” He asked, and Theo shrugged.
“It’s best to keep everyone, including her, safe from that evil woman.” Theo answered, and Arthur nodded.
“I hope it works because I don’t even know where Aurora is, and her phone number isn’t connected. How will they reach out to her?”
“That’s why they are the police, Mr Arthur. They’ll figure it out. Let’s just take it slow. And now that you’ve promised the children a trip, you have to fulfill it.”
“I know. I don’t even know where to go! I just said that out of nowhere.”
Theo chuckled and looked at the boys. “We can ask them where they’d love to go. This will make it easier. And when are you going to leave?”
“After my meeting with Mr Musk at the office tomorrow.” Arthur answered, and Theo nodded.
“We should ask them where they’d love to go.” Theo uttered, and they both walked back to the living room. This time, the boys were done with their homework.
“So boys, for the trip, where would you like to go?” Arthur inquired from them, and their faces lit up.
“I love Paris!” Ryan yelled, and his brothers nodded in support.
“I want to see and touch the Eiffel Tower!” Riley added, and Arthur chuckled.
“Well, Paris, here we come!” Arthur said in a low voice, and they cheered.
“When are we leaving, dad? We are starting exams soon. We can’t leave before our exams.” Rowan uttered, and his brothers turned to look at him with a fierce expression.
“Daddy said he was going to take care of that. Why do you worry about it?” Ryan asked with a frown on his face.
“Exactly! We all want to go to Paris, don’t we?”
“Hey, boys. Don’t fight, okay? Rowan is right. You can’t just leave when exams are coming up. Your teachers won’t postpone the exams because you’re absent.” Arthur uttered, and they all went quiet.
“You are going to go to Paris after your exams, okay? At least, your holidays come after exams. So you can even spend more time there.” Theo uttered, trying to cheer them up.
“Fine. After exams then.” Ryan breathed out deeply and reached for their iPad. Just then, a call from an unknown number came in, causing the phone to ring out loud.
They all turned to look at the iPad in Ryan’s hand. “It’s an unknown number! Maybe Mummy!” Ryan yelled, and then placed his finger on his lips, telling everyone to remain quiet.
He answered the phone, put it on speaker and placed it on the center table.
“Mum?” He uttered.
“Ryan. How are you today?” They heard Aurora answer from the other end.
Arthur’s heart thumped against his chest immediately he heard her sweet voice. He missed her so much and wished he could talk to her for just a few seconds, but that wasn’t going to happen.
‘I shouldn’t ruin the kids’ opportunity of speaking to their mother.’ He thought.
“I’m doing well. We just got back from school.” Ryan answered.
“And how was school today?”
“Was good! There was nothing special though. Riley and Rowan are here too. Do you want to speak to them?”
“Yes! How are you, boys? I miss you all so much.”
“We miss you too, mummy! I can’t wait for you to come home.” Rowan mumbled.
Arthur pressed his hands together, anxiously awaiting her response to Rowan.
“I wish I could come home, Rowan. But I can’t. This doesn’t mean I don’t love you. I love y’all so much, but I have to stay here.”
“Where is here? You haven’t told us where you are.” Riley answered.
“I haven’t told you because I don’t want you to know where I am. If you know, your father would end up knowing, and I don’t want that.” She answered, and the boys turned to look at Arthur, whose heart was hurting.
“Okay, mummy. But can you at least give us a phone number we can always call? You call like you just once a week or two weeks.”
“I’ll try to increase the rate, okay? That, I can promise.”
Hearing this, Arthur abruptly stood up from the couch and walked to his room. He hated himself for losing her and the conversation on the phone kept reminding him.
Getting into his room, he angrily threw a punch at the wall.
“Fk!” He yelled as blood began to drip from his knuckles.
“I want her back. I want you back, Aurora.” He muttered to himself, falling to the ground.
