Chapter 38 Therapist
Throughout their journey back home, Arthur remained awkwardly silent and so was Aurora.
Arthur seemed to be lost thinking about his meeting with Anita, while Aurora couldn’t stop fuming. She expected him to say something to her, at least apologize for treating her that way in front of his Ex, but he said nothing.
She waited patiently for them to get home before she said anything about it.
Getting home, Arthur carried the bags of goodies in the car and headed into the house, still not saying anything to Aurora.
While he walked to the children’s room to drop the gifts, Aurora headed straight to his room. She was so pissed to even say hello to the kids.
She needed to say what she had to say first. She needed some explanation from him. Entering his room, she began to pace in the center of the room, waiting for him to walk in.
The door eventually opened, and Arthur walked in to see Aurora in his room.
“We need to talk.” She uttered, and he let out a loud sigh.
“Do we need to do that right now? I’m pretty exhausted.” Arthur answered, walking past her.
“What’s wrong with you?! Some hours ago, you were caring, so nice to me and all! And then you saw her and that was the end?? You ridiculed me in front of her! You left me there with her.” Aurora uttered, walking to the bed where he sat.
“I’m sorry about that.” He answered, heaving a deep sigh.
Aurora shook her head unbelievably as she stared at him. “Why? Why does she affect you so much? Why haven’t you completely forgotten about her? What makes her so special? Tell me?”
She sat next to him on the bed, hoping he was going to finally open up to her since they were now a couple.
“I did forget about her, Aurora. But seeing her again brought back terrible memories. I’m sorry I took it out on you, but I just hated that I ran into her.” Arthur answered, clenching his jaws.
“Hey baby, look at me.” Aurora uttered, touching his face and carefully pushing it so he could look at her.
“I am here now, okay? We are together now. You need to forget whatever happened in the past. It’s your past, you can’t keep letting it taunt you. I don’t know what she did to hurt you so much, but we are not the same, okay?
“I’ll never hurt you. I’m not a bch like her who ruins everyone’s happiness. I don’t want her to ruin what we have, but we both need to agree on this. I love you, Arthur. That’s all that matters.”
After Aurora spoke, Arthur nodded, keeping his eyes locked with hers.
“I’m sorry I hurt you. She just pisses me off so much.”
“I know, and I hate her for that too. But she’s gone, okay? I’m here. Right here. Let’s stop talking about her. I don’t even want to know what happened between you two because then, you’ll have to start thinking about her again. Let’s move past this, okay?”
“Yes. I promise not to leave you the way I did at the mall today.” He answered, and she smiled, nodding.
“It’s okay, baby. I understand you. Now, I can go and say Hi to the boys. I was so furious, I didn’t want to go to them in that state.” She uttered, standing up from the bed.
“Wait.” Arthur said, standing up after her. She turned to look at him and he kissed her forehead.
“Thank you.” He uttered softly.
“For what?” She asked.
“For understanding. Not every woman would understand and handle this the way you’ve done. I’m sorry.” He apologized remorsefully.
Aurora smiled softly and cupped his head in her hands. “I love you, okay? That’s all that matters.” She said, softly kissing his lips.
“I need to see the boys now, okay? I’ll be back soon.” She added as she headed out of the room.
Walking down the stairs, she saw Theo and waved at him. “Hi, Theo. Thank you so much for taking care of the boys.”
He smiled and shook his head. “It’s nothing, Aurora. That’s why I’m here.” He answered, and she smiled.
She walked past him, but he grabbed her hand, making her stop.
“Are you alright?” He asked as she turned to look at him. “I noticed your countenance when you came in, it wasn’t a pleasant one. Did he do anything to piss you off?” He asked worriedly.
“Oh, we talked about it already. Thank you so much for your concern. I’m grateful.” Aurora answered. She was happy that he still cared so much about her.
“I’m glad you’re okay now. So… I’ll head to the kitchen to prepare lunch.” He said and walked away.
Aurora finally got into the triplet’s room and they all embraced her.
“We missed you so much, Mum.” Ryan muttered as he embraced her.
“I miss you all so very much too. How was home while we were away? I hope you didn’t stress out Uncle Theo.”
“No, we didn’t. We had so much fun!” Riley answered, and she chuckled.
“That’s great! And I hope you love the toys and goodies we brought for you.”
“Yes! Mummy, who owns the elephant teddy bear?” Rowan asked, and she raised her head to look at him.
“You, of course .”
“What about ours?! You didn’t get it for us?”
“Ryan, we got books and toy cars for you. You need to understand that your brother loves holding onto something when he sleeps.”
“But…”
“Grrrr!! Grrr!” The sound of a phone ringing cut Ryan short, and they all looked in the direction of the sound.
“Daddy’s phone.” Riley uttered, running to his bed and picking up the phone.
“She left it here.” Aurora responded as she collected the phone from him to check the caller.
She creased her brows as she saw the caller. “Mr. Richard Therapist?” She said in confusion.
‘Is he seeing a therapist?’ She thought, staring at the phone until it stopped ringing.
Being the first time holding his phone, she realized he had no password on it. Out of curiosity, she stared at the phone, contemplating whether to check his call history or not.
‘That isn’t right, Aurora. You shouldn’t go through his phone.’ She said to herself, swallowing hard as she put the phone away.
Just then, Arthur walked into the room. “Is my phone here? I can’t find it.” He uttered, looking at them.
“It’s here.” Aurora answered with a feeble smile, giving him the phone.
“It was ringing.” Ryan added, and Aurora nodded in agreement.
“You got a call from Mr. Richard Therapist.” Aurora added, and he raised his brows and checked his phone.
“Really? Thank you.” He replied, heading out of the room again.
Aurora heaved a loud sigh and stared into space. ‘Why do I feel he’s keeping so many things from me?’
