Chapter 26

"Is it true ?" James asked with a small smile.

"Yes... maybe, if you are really ready to get married."

"What do you mean ? I ? Marry ?" James asked pretending to be stupid because he was completely unprepared for the question about marriage.

"Okay sir who will never be ready, I think you should go to a skier to repair your soul."

"Come on, Miyuki, don't joke..."

“James, I don't want to know anymore. Now it's up to you, besides I don't care if you don't get married in your life, that's none of my business. If you'll excuse me, Eli, I'll go first, take care of yourself. I will come to visit you often because I don't trust this man!” Miyuki continued to talk whatever she wanted to show her annoyance at James' attitude, while James just smiled even though he actually knew how Miyuki felt about him at the moment, but there was something else about him that no one else could possibly understand, even if he was a close friend.

The bright sky slowly turned gray, Eli stood straight while looking at the black clouds that were starting to struggle against the wind. Eli looked without blinking, he really enjoyed what he was seeing.

"Eli?" James called, Eli turned his face away for a moment to look at James who was standing behind him. Only a few seconds later he focused again on the sky and black clouds.

"Hmm... how interesting is it to look at the sky when it's going to rain?" James smiled slightly as he stepped closer to Eli. James stopped right next to Eli, looking at the girl's face which looked enthusiastic only because of the black clouds that were gathering in the sky.

Eli remained silent, his head continued to think about questions that he had not yet answered in his life, namely why sky water could fall to the earth.

“Why did the cloud turn black? Where did the white clouds go?" Eli asked, finally making a sound. James was really looking forward to the moment, namely waiting for Eli to ask him a question.

"I'm happy because you finally talked to me, I thought since yesterday you called me James, that was the last time you talked to me." James said, he still didn't expect Eli to finally accept his presence. However, waiting for a normal answer from this girl's mouth is not an easy thing, because the answers she comes out of her mouth never match expectations. He would just stay silent and stare at the person who was speaking, or shake his head to show that he didn't understand what the other person was saying to him.

"You understand what I mean?" James asked, because Eli only showed a flat expression and ignorance.

“Okay, I'm sorry. Um... earlier you asked where the white clouds went, right?"

James asked again, Eli just looked at him while waiting for the answer James would give him.

“Awa that…”

Before James had time to explain, the light rain fell, making James react quickly to bring Eli into the house.

“Eli, let's go in. I'll explain it to you next time!” James said while pulling Eli's arm. Eli looked at his arm for some reason, he felt happy, James' big palm could completely grip his small arm, Eli really felt very happy when he realized that he was so protected by someone.

James smiled a little when he saw the young girl beside him who continued to look at him with admiration. For James, Eli looked like a child who was seeing the world for the first time and experiencing someone's love for the first time.

“James…?” Even though it was slow and sounded heavy, Eli was starting to get used to calling James' name and he felt very happy with what he said.

From now on James was the only person he trusted, the only person who taught him many things, from the moment he woke up from his sleep until he fell asleep again at night. For Eli, all the happiness he feels now is like a dream, the most beautiful dream that seemed impossible to him but now the dream is coming true.

***The sound of sparrows could be heard behind the bedroom window, Eli was still reluctant to get up, it felt like this bed was too comfortable for him to stay in. But Eli also doesn't want to miss the very cool morning air, especially when he breathes in fresh air and lets it pass through his lungs. Yes, Eli really likes that sensation.***

***"Uh... I really like this place," he said while half asleep, Eli lifted his body lazily and let his back rest between the pillows on his bed.***

***A few minutes later Eli was fully conscious and began to open his eyes. Sunlight came in through the gap in the window, making the white curtains shine, especially as a small gust of wind blew the window curtains apart. Eli smiled a little when he saw a sparrow trapped in his room, who knows where the little bird got in.***

***The bird seemed to be trying to find a way out but it was having great difficulty, the bird tried to ram itself into the closed window many times but its efforts failed, it remained trapped.***

***"Hmm... you poor little bird, how did you get in here?" said Eli while opening his camera window.***

***Fresh air immediately entered his room and Eli really liked this sensation. The little bird immediately flew out through the open window, flying freely with its friends.***
