Awkward

"Is it awkward being around me, or are you thinking of how to start? he scoffed.

"Well, it's nothing serious. I just want to know what you feel about my sister" Emma paused to look at him for a while.

"How do you mean? Mia is my Co-wife, and we are cool. Did she say anything bad about me?" She asked, trying to be sure what his real intentions were. Emma kept walking while he walked behind her.

"Not at all; she didn't say anything against you. Just that, I was wondering if you actually cared about my sister like you claimed. I just wanted to know if you aren't the skinny type" He sounds really rude, but Emma just smirked it off.

"Well, I won't support humans. But the people I have met so far are nice, while some are what you claimed. I understand where you are coming from. But I need you to know that Mia is like a sister to me, just as she is to you. I will never try to hurt her; I can even sacrifice my happiness for hers Because I know how hard this Is for her. So definitely she's not my enemy." She said it with a sincerity-filled voice. Ryan chuckled softly.

"Well, I think she's lucky then. And congratulations on your marriage; I'm sorry for not doing that earlier" he said, and the two exchanged handshakes before going their separate ways.

Soon the ritual began, and it took some hours as the wives were given titles by asking them different questions. Mia was taking the lead because she knew more about the Werewolf world and rituals, while Emma was trying to fit in and catch up due to the book she has read about Werewolves so far and the little she heard from Nathan, Sarah, and her mother before her bereavement. Mia was given the highest rank to be in charge of everything concerning women's affairs and the first wife of his Alpha even though they got married the same day, while she was to be in charge of taking care of the things around the palace. Still, Mia was angry at her position; she was expecting them to give her the crown of the supreme Luna(Queen).

G"reetings, my elders, I thought you were going to crown me as the supreme Luna? of this pack" she asked, pretending not to sound rude.

"Your highness, we are not giving out the crown of the supreme Luna now, not until we see who is worth the crown by maintaining her position with almost sincerity and hard work," He replied, and she nodded in agreement. All her hope was shattered; she thought she would get the position and be in control of everything, but no one dare go against her rules. But it's disappointing that they were expecting more for her to be crowned. So she will have to compete with her for the crown; she was so angry but was pretending to be fine.

The rituals finally came to an end, and everyone returned to their various houses, except Mia's and Emma's families, who were having a good time together. Emma was in her room when Alpha Nathan came Inside without knocking. She was baffled at first, but seeing that it was him, she gulped down her lumps.

"You scared me, Alpha; maybe you should have placed a knock, next time" she corrected, her voice humble.

"Noted, your majesty," He said teasily with a chuckle, and she smiled.

"You are so silly," she said, her face reddening with blush. Alpha Nathan stares at her for a while and smirks.

"Is there anything bothering you?" She asked, her voice shaking.

"Nothing; I only wanted to ask what Ryan said to you—did he say something out of line?" He asked, his voice filled with concerns. He saw them together before the ritual took place, so he chose to confront her to ask if there was any problem Because he was aware of Ryan's deep hatred for humans.

"No, he didn't; why are you worried about that?" She asked, and a wry chuckle appeared on his face.

"Nothing, just trying to make sure everything is okay." She stared at him with a touch of doubt that surged through her heart.

"Do you think he will fight me because of his sister?" She asked, and Alpha Nathan nodded in reply.

"I don't think so; he was just checking on his sister. I wish I had a younger brother that would look out for me. But I think I've got one already." She said smiling, and Alpha Nathan looked at her with jealousy-filled eyes.

"Are you being jealous right now?" She asked, moved closer, and placed a kiss on his lips.

"I got you; I am the happiest person because I have you, and you always check out for me, so don't be jealous of yourself." She played with his lips, staring at him Lustfully. He pulled her closer, wrapping his hand around her waist.

"I admire you a lot; you have such a big heart and know how to bring people around you closer. Thanks for not letting me down." He kissed her, and they got more intimate.

"My loyalty towards you matters a lot." She whispered in his ear, and he carried her as she wrapped her legs around his waist.

"If you feel like you are having any inconveniences with the position given to you, you can always call on me. I will sure help in every situation" he said, and she nodded in reply. He took her to the bed and placed her gently on it.

His phone rang, and they both hissed out loud. "Darn" cussed, and checked out the caller.

"Mia" he uttered, and Emma understood this immediately.

"You can go to her. Don't keep her waiting" she said, getting up from the bed.

"I will be back." He said before picking up her call, and she nodded her head, unsure if he's really going to come back, even if he wants to. How about Mia?
