Chapter 93 THE BEGINNING OF REVENGE
The moment Giselle walked out, reporters surrounded her.
"Miss Giselle, what can you say about the things online?"
"Did you know he did all that to the victims?"
"Were you guys in a relationship?"
"He swindled money, did you know?"
The questions kept coming. Giselle refused to say a word, staring at the ground as her bodyguards parted a way for her.
She got into the car and shut the door instantly. Her eyes darkened as she turned to her phone, trembling.
The videos were all online, yet Carter was yet to say anything! That asshole, was he trying to push every blame onto her? She bit her lower lip as she read the comments.
"How could she watch him do that to a fellow female?"
"Giselle, you really are despicable!"
"She disgusts me. I can't believe I looked up to her!"
As she read them, her pupils dilated and the atmosphere in the car thickened, the driver drove off instantly. Her phone suddenly rang and she picked up.
"What the hell did you get yourself into? And where's Carter?"
The cold voice rang out, yet Giselle dared not say a word.
"I'll clean my mess. Stay out of it!" she muttered and switched off her phone. But truly, she didn't fvcking know how... She bit her nails. Who was doing this?
Overnight, Carter’s files, containing the money he swindled, the embezzlement, and videos of him assaulting ladies, just fvcking blew up online. She wanted to stay out of it... she thought she did until another image and videos popped up. She was actually sitting on his thighs while he bullied a fellow female, and she laughed throughout, even pouring milk all over the girl.
She stomped her foot in the car. Worse, the girl had committed suicide, but that case died down. But now... She placed her hands in her hair, dragging with all her force. She licked her lips and sighed.
She had to get those videos down. She reached for her phone and sent an anonymous text to a dark app.
\[Four million dollars to whoever takes down some of the videos. Text me for instructions\]
She stared at her phone, waiting for a reply, not realizing the car had come to a halt.
"Miss, we are here!" the driver said, but Giselle only hummed.
Her thoughts faded when a knock came from her window. She raised her head and stared out... it was Erica, and her face was dark.
Giselle’s stomach dropped. Fvck. Not the queen of entertainment.
She forced a warm smile, looking less worried, and stepped out.
"What brings you here, Erica?" she asked softly, watching as Erica’s eyes darkened even more. She crossed her arms and smiled.
"Everything online is—"
"False. I'll take care of it, Erica. Someone must be trying to bring me down, even faking a video. I'll bring justice!" she said, though her tone was laced with nervousness.
Erica didn’t say a word. Her eyes revealed nothing, and it made Giselle even more anxious. Then Erica pulled out a stack of documents from her handbag and tossed it at Giselle’s feet.
"Sign that. As of now, we no longer do business together!"
Giselle froze. The words felt like cold acid poured on her. Her face went pale and she trembled.
"Really, Erica? You should trust me!"
"Trust you? Giselle, there's a video out there. How can you prove your innocence?" Erica’s voice finally cut through, and Giselle broke into a cold sweat.
"I'll investigate. Give me some days!" she pleaded.
Erica scoffed softly, her eyes sharpening.
"Did you and Carter actually date? How could you be involved with such a vile man? I can't believe you stooped so low. Carter is nothing, you had a bright future, now he's bringing you down with him?"
Every word Erica threw made Giselle’s stomach drop. She would fvcking kill that bastard.
"He really said he loved me and would take care of me. I'm the victim here, I only loved him with my heart!" she said, breaking into soft, fake tears.
Seeing this, Erica rolled her eyes inwardly. What an Oscar-winning actress, she thought.
"Hmm, if that's the truth, then prove it. Three days, Giselle, that’s all I give you. If you can't prove your innocence, we cut every tie and deal off!"
Erica watched as Giselle nodded with determination and felt a flicker of satisfaction. She really wanted to see how far Giselle would go to save her face.
Erica had already shown Carter everything happening outside, his perfect’ image, everything going down the drain and he actually tried to kill her, choking her. But Erica only laughed.
He was knocked unconscious later, and when he woke up, Erica gave him eight words:
"If she saves you, I'll let you go."
She had watched Carter’s eyes sparkle. What a fool.
She licked her lips and walked off, getting into the car. Nina turned to stare at her.
"Status!" Erica asked.
Nina swiped on the iPad. "Giselle lost five ambassador deals already, and her agency put out a written article saying everything was fake."
Hearing her words, Erica hummed and rested her head back, licking her lips as a bright smile spread across her face.
"This is so fun!" she murmured.
Nina smiled. She wouldn’t lie, it was the first time she had seen Erica smile genuinely. Usually, Erica’s eyes were always cold, uneven, and filled with vengeance.
"Miss, after everything... how do you want to live?" she suddenly asked.
Erica’s smile faded. She had never thought about that, to be honest. Then Aaron flashed through her mind, and a small smile formed on her lips unconsciously.
"I wonder too," she said softly.
Nina smiled.
Erica had saved her. She still remembered being a high school girl, bullied to the brink, when Erica appeared, dressed in heels and a fitted suit. She thought Erica would be like the others and walk away, but instead, camera flashes went off and the bullies froze. In the end, Erica dealt with them all, and they knelt, begging for forgiveness.
"Miss, I really wish you a happy life..."
Erica froze at those words and turned to stare at Nina. A small smile formed on her lips before she turned to the window, staring at her reflection.
"Take me home," Erica said softly.
Nina nodded, starting the car and driving away.
Erica smiled faintly at her reflection.
"Hmm."
