Chapter 217 Amalie
Chapter 217 Amalie
“Get her out of here,” Sam orders as he puts himself between the rogues and me.
Sara has already started muttering words behind me. I’ve studied enough of the language to realize she is putting up some sort of barrier to keep anymore rogues out of the pack house. Honestly, I thought the coven had already locked this place down so no rogues could get in.
“Don’t I get a say?” I demand as I try to get free.
“No, you are going to a safe room,” Sara says as she starts to back away. She switches back to the language to finish her spell.
“I don’t want to,” I growl like a child. I twist as much as I am able to, which is not much. As I twist, a wave of pain erupts. I freeze and let out a gasp. I take a deep breath to steady myself.
Devin takes a step forward, but Sam lets out a growl of warning. “The Gamma thinks he can go against an Alpha,” he taunts.
“I’m sorry but put me down,” I order sharply. I do feel bad that my father is forced to comply when he does not want to. I know he wants to get me to safety. But my Gamma is about to square up with a former Alpha.
“Look at her, she thinks that she is suddenly powerful,” Melissa scoffs as she takes a step forward. “Relying on everyone else to protect you.”
“Oh, you have no idea how powerful I am,” I growl as I take a step forward.
“You are just some white wolf whore,” Devin scoffs. “Probably a good lay if you’ve learned how to please those mates of yours.”
The room freezes. Nope, they did not just go there. I feel like I should be taking out my earrings and handing them to someone to hold so I can throw hands. Yep, I’m going to enjoy abusing the goddess’s power.
“You bet your ass I’m a white wolf,” I growl as I take anther step forward.
“Go run and hide,” Melissa sneers at me as she takes a step forward as well.
“Dance,” I order her sharply, tapping into Selene’s power. I’ve gotten better at making people follow my commands.
“I’m not going to-” Melissa scoffs before she cuts herself off to start to sway to some unheard beat, proving that she has to do what I say.
Devin freezes and looks from me to my sister. He’s trying to connect the dots.
“Drop and give a hundred push-ups,” I order the former Alpha.
He drops and starts to do push-ups. Devin lets out a growl. He is probably wondering how I can command him.
“Melissa, sit down,” I order.
She plops down and lets out her own growl. She glares up at me.
“How many rogues did you bring with you to attack my pack?” I demand.
Both try to remain quiet at my question.
“How many?” I order sharply.
“Thirty,” Melissa screams. It was as if the answer bubbled up and exploded out of her.
“Why only thirty?” Sam asks. He has his thinking face on.
Thirty rogues are not enough to do any damage. They will be slaughtered quickly.
“Why?” I ask, when neither say anything.
Both try not to answer me.
“Do not make me ask again,” I say as if I am a disappointed mother.
“Because no sane rogue wants to attack an alliance this big,” Devin growls.
“Some left when we had difficulties getting over the boarder to take what we deserve,” Melissa sneers.
“No sane wolf will attack, but yet you decided to attack anyways?” Sara scoffs at the pair.
“My sister doesn’t deserve to be Luna. She doesn’t deserve to be a white wolf. She has my life!” Melissa screeches.
“Yep, there’s that entitlement,” I say.
“I’m supposed to be special. Mom and Dad said that I am,” she continues to scream.
“Oh, shut up,” I order.
Melissa’s jaw clacks shut.
“Now that you are quiet, I can finally think,” I sigh. But my peace does not last as pain hits me again, alerting me to my coming pup. “Let’s wrap this up, I have a pup on the way and mates that I want to yell at.”
Melissa tries to open her mouth to say something, but her lips stay glued together. Devin growls at me.
“Hush,” I order him and he falls silent as well. I pour more of Selene’s power into my words so the pair will obey. I am feeling very vicious and vindictive. “Now, you both were given second chances, and you squandered it. After everything you did Melissa, I let you live. But no, you came back to hurt me. You will go outside and start to maul yourself. You will continue to scratch yourself for the next hour until you finally bleed out. No one will stop you or offer you aid.”
Melissa stands up and walks down the hall like she has been possessed.
“Devin, you could have simply vanished and started over. But you wanted my pack. You attacked my pup,” I growl at the former Alpha. “You will go to the basement and wrap the silver chains around your neck. You will wait there until my mates arrive and deal with you.”
He stands up and looks around for the basement entrance.
“Sam, lead him there,” I say sharply.
Sam starts forward.
Shit, I just commanded Sam. I will apologize later.
“Okay, infirmary now,” my father says as he pulls me into his arms.
“I can walk,” I say as I try to cut off the power from the goddess.
My father takes a step back to let me walk.
“Sorry,” I apologize.
My father is able to come close again. “We already tried that and you decided to confront your sister and the former Alpha. I am getting you to the infirmary,” he says exasperatedly. He picks me up gently and starts for the infirmary.
Running feet has us pause.
“We came as soon as we could,” James says as he and Kira skid to a stop beside our group.
“The rogues?” I ask.
“Dealt with,” James assures me.
“It was a tiny group that we dealt with,” Kira says.
“But more importantly, why is your sister out front hurting herself?” James asks me.
“I ordered her to,” I say as my father starts to walk towards the infirmary.
James nods his head. “What’s going on?” James asks worriedly, as he follows us.
“The Luna is going into labor and decided to confront the rogues,” Sara says with an exasperated look.
“Cal and Mark are going to kill us,” James sighs.
“Kill you and never leave me alone,” I growl as another contraction hits.
“How long before she gives birth?” James asks nervously.
“That is entirely up to the baby. I need to check and see how things are progressing. But it could now or in a few hours,” my father says.
“Few hours, please,” I order to my belly.
