Forty Eight

After he and Miguel talked, he left his office. He went back to lying down. The next day, Lennox was getting ready to go home early. He first left the office, looked for Miguel's children's room, and checked if they were okay. When he entered the room he saw them.

"How are they?" he asked the nurses who were watching.

The children slept soundly as if they had no pain. Miguel and his wife are not there.

"They're okay, Doctor. Their bodies functioned with the medicine. And for sure they'll be able to get out of here easily," Nurse Jean said with a smile.

Lennox breathed a sigh of relief because dengue is deadly, especially for children. Pity.

"It's good. You take care of them first because I'm going home early, just wait for their parents to arrive," said Lennox.

"Go ahead, Doc," they said.

When he left the hospital, he met Miguel and his wife.

"Good morning, Doctor," Miguel's wife greeted him and smiled at him.

"Good morning," he replied with a smile.

They were carrying so many bags that he knew they were from the mall.

"Have you finished shopping? Watch your children there because our nurses have a lot to do," said Lennox.

"Okay," replied Miguel's wife.

He nodded.

"And you, Miguel, come with me first. We will fix what we talked about last night," he said to the man.

After a while, they were carried by car back to his house. The gate was open so he knew Dionne was just inside the house.

"Come inside the house first, Miguel," he said to the man.

He followed him silently. When he walked in the front door he only saw Baby Denise in the crib and he couldn't find Dionne. She hasn't picked up the baby yet because she isn't dressed yet and she just came from the hospital. Miguel didn't ask anymore because he found out that his daughter was Baby Denise and his wife was Dionne because the two always went to the hospital. Then Dionne came out of the kitchen wearing an apron. He smiled at him, especially at Miguel.

"We have a visitor," said Dionne.

"Yeah, we're just going to take care of someone here. That's why he came," Lennox answered.

"That's right. I cooked our breakfast perfectly. Eat first," Dionne replied.

"Thank you. I'm going to get dressed, Miguel. Wait for me here and we'll eat first," said Lennox and went up the stairs.

"Okay, sir," answered Miguel.

While Dionne was already preparing food for breakfast for Lennox and his companion. He knows the man, he is a guard at the hospital where they work.

While he was busy preparing food, he didn't notice Lennox coming up behind him and smelling his hair. He hugged her and buried his face in her neck. She smiled because she was tickled and another smell that Dionne smelled was the sweet smell of the man's shampoo.

"I miss you. We didn't see each other for one night," he told.

"It's just one night. So it's okay. Go ahead and eat, your partner seems to be hungry," Dionne answered.

Lennox pulled away from him and walked out of the kitchen. It has called the companion to eat. After a while the two entered and then he left. After he finished eating, he was going to join his baby in the living room. He leaned on the soft sofa while closing his eyes. He was so tired of washing their dirty things today that even though he didn't want to do the laundry, he did it anyway because the smell was on someone else when it took a long time to wash. He didn't realize that he had fallen asleep and he woke up when he felt a soft pat on his face.

"Sleep in that room first, Dionne. What have you been doing all day?" Lennox asked him.

"I did so much laundry this morning that I can't help but be tired. Maybe I'll rest later. Baby Denise is still sleeping," Dionne answered.

"Yes. I can't look after him right now because Miguel and I have something to do. I'm going to buy them a house near here because I found out that the one here is going to be sold. I'm going to buy it and give it to them. The three got dengue his son because they live in a squatter area. It's good that it was caught so he got better soon. The hospital will release him," Lennox answered.

Dionne smiled at the goodness of this man's heart. There is no pressure, anyone who needs help will be helped. A whole life in this exclusive subdivision is too expensive but money is not important to Lennox because he is rich compared to his almost no money left in his pocket.

"Just go and check if it's still there. I saw earlier that someone also wanted to buy, but there's still a lot of work going on at the end," Dionne answered.

"We'll go first," said Lennox with a kiss on his cheek.

She doesn't know if the two of them are still friends but first, she will enjoy this beautiful moment as long as it is here because if Lennox marries another woman as his friend, she will be happy for her even if it hurts for him. It's not hard to love him because he's so smart that she didn't realize that her heart had fallen so deep that she almost couldn't come out but it's okay even if she doesn't reciprocate as long as the important thing is that she's still happy now because the two of them are still together. After Lennox left, she first washed what they ate while his baby was still sleeping. Denise doesn't cry when she's a child, so she won't get tired. She dislikes burdening her, which makes her happy because her daughter doesn't torture her.

While washing the dishes, he was still singing, he was happy because little by little his dreams that had been thwarted were coming true.
