Forty Four
"Did you just come here to the hospital to gossip with me?" he asked Kiley with a frown.
"Where can I come in? I just took a leave of absence for three months, are you doing this? I just want to know what the score is between you and Dionne. Maybe I'm late for the news," the man answered.
"Nothing. If there is, I won't tell either," he said shaking his head.
"Okay. If you don't want to say it, I'll just ask Dionne," Kiley answered surrendering with a smile on her face.
"Damn you!" he says.
"No matter what you ask her, she won't speak because we are friends. So nothing between us more than friends," Lennox answered.
"But you love him," Kiley asked seriously and he couldn't avoid it.
He didn't say anything but just looked at him wondering if he would answer the question if he didn't. I hope this man doesn't report Dionne if he confesses now. But maybe not. He was confused.
"What? You're not going to admit it? Even though you're quiet right now I can feel you thinking about whether to tell me or not," said Kiley.
Lennox sighed. I think this man has cornered him. It would have been good if he had seen it earlier so that he could have found a way to prevent it from entering his office.
"Fine. I love Dionne. What? Are you happy?" he answered and looked at Kiley.
Kiley burst out laughing.
"I've known for a long time, Lennox. Even if you didn't say it, I've noticed it before. We, men, don't pay attention to a woman if we're not interested in them. If we say out of pity, that's fine, but in your case seems to keep getting deeper and deeper and it got to the point where you wanted to live together as friends. How did you handle that? Is Dionne's wife material?" Kiley asked.
Lennox nodded.
"We're living like a couple. I was being taken care of and he's still good at cooking," he said with a smile.
"Court her before others get ahead of you. Even though she is a single mother, there are still many people who want to get her. She is beautiful and kind," Kiley said with a smile.
"I've thought about confessing but I don't know what I should do in case they get scared of me and leave the house," Lennox said shaking his head.
"You can do that. And then you will answer that because your sex appeal is too much even Sahara feels it too. He has already told the entire staff of the hospital that you went to a club together last night and he is happy with the simple fact that you are together that's it. Just choose which of the two of them. That's where you can test your choice of a woman to fall in love with. Is it professional or wife material," said Kiley.
Lennox just shook his head because of what he heard. He doesn't know how to tell Sahara that he doesn't like her and has no plans to date her.
"I don't care who else likes me, Kiley. My heart only beats for one woman right now," Lennox said.
"She posted a video of you on social media on her account. Did you not watch it or even see it?" Kiley asked.
"Huh? I didn't see that," Lennox answered.
His brow furrowed when he thought about what video Sahara had posted to make him upset. A few hours later, Kiley came out because he was called to the emergency room. It's getting into surgery again even though it's just back to work.
He was dealing with the paper works a few minutes later. Focusing on what he was doing, he didn't realize the door opened and Sahara entered.
“Hello, Lennox,” Sahara greeted him.
He stops working and looks at him without smiling. He hates this woman’s gut.
“What video did you upload that includes me, Sahara? We’re not that close enough for you to upload that video without my permission. And I wanted to remind you that taking video or picture to someone without permission is a crime,” Lennox said, with rose eyebrows.
Sahara’s smiling face fades immediately. Lennox hates this woman’s closeness toward him. Even once he didn’t approach her and talk to her because she has a motive even before.
“I’m sorry. I’m just being happy to show to the world that I once with the great doctor,” Sahara said.
“Why? You’re a doctor too. I’m a private person, Sahara. And I don’t have a social media account. And I don’t want someone middle with my personal life,” Lennox said.
“Okay. I know, I was wrong. But your bad attitude towards me didn’t stop me from approaching you,” Sahara said, boastfully.
"Why? Do I mean something when you come to me? Nothing. So if you want to come to me that's normal. We're in the same hospital and together," Lennox answered indifferently.
"Are you that numb to not feel my attention to you? I love you, Lennox. I love you so much," said Sahara.
Lennox wasn't surprised because he could feel every look in her eyes. But he didn't care.
"So? Do you want to know that when you say you like me, I'll like you back?" he says.
"Why not? I'm not that attractive enough for you to like?" asked Sahara who just stared at him.
"If you were in my position, you would react the same way when someone confesses their feelings to you and you don't like it. So don't force me to do something that I can't feel. I only treat you as a companion and I'm sorry. You'll find a lot of men who are better than me," said Lennox.
Pain crossed Sahara's face after hearing what he said. She should hurt her with the truth than for her to be happy with a lie. It's sad, but that's life. You can't force yourself into something you can't love.
