The council chamber buzzed with whispers and tension.
Damien’s boots clicked against the marble floor, each step measured, controlled. He entered the room flanked by two SilverShield onega, their presence silent but imposing. Every Alpha in the chamber froze mid-sentence. Eyes turned, sharp and wary.
“Magnus,” Damien’s voice cut through the murmurs, calm yet cold, a blade hidden in silk. “We need to discuss alliances.”
Alpha Magnus’ jaw tightened. “Damien. Bold, returning here after defying the council. I should have expected…”
“You should have expected me to think,” Damien interrupted, his golden eyes locking on his father’s. “Because unlike you, I do more than survive, I lead.”
The council members shifted uneasily. Some leaned forward, curious. Others whispered with evident fear. Damien’s entrance had already shifted the air. The SilverShield influence behind him wasn’t subtle; it was undeniable.

Magnus bristled. “You dare question council loyalty in front of the assembly?”
“I dare,” Damien replied. His words were precise, yet each syllable carried weight. “Because loyalty built on fear is weak. And fear like chains can be broken.”
He moved to the table, fingers tracing the map of the territories. “The SilverShield Pack now holds influence over multiple minor alliances that you’ve ignored. Wolves who have grown tired of your stagnation, of your ruthless edicts. Those packs are now with me.”
Gasps echoed through the chamber. Council members muttered under their breath. Some stiffened, calculating. Others looked worried.
Magnus’ face darkened. “You think you can sway the council with threats?”
Damien’s smile was thin, almost predatory. “Not threats, Father. Evidence. Watch and learn.”
He flipped a small dossier onto the table. “Here. Here are the packs who have quietly pledged loyalty to SilverShield, following Tiara’s rise as Alpha.” He allowed the pause to linger, letting murmurs grow. “And here—” another folder “are the packs who have grown discontent with the council’s passive leadership. I suggest you take note.”
Some council members exchanged glances. Damien could feel the shift, the subtle pull of power moving toward him. Magnus’ eyes narrowed, fury barely contained.
“You manipulate wolves and council alike,” Magnus hissed. “Damien, you’ve gone too far. You forget your place.”
“No, Father. You’ve forgotten mine,” Damien said softly, almost tenderly, but his voice dripped with steel. “I will not kneel to fear. I will not allow Tiara or our pack to be threatened by your tyranny.”
A few council members shifted uncomfortably. Damien’s words weren’t just rhetoric they were a challenge, a declaration.
He glanced down at the dossier again. “Consider this a political chessboard. And for every move you make, I have already predicted three responses.”
Magnus slammed a fist onto the table. The room trembled with the force. “You leave me no choice.”
Damien did not flinch. His wolf stirred, restless, alert. Shadow hovered in the edge of his senses, sensing the tension in the chamber, mirrored by Tiara’s own growing unease.

A younger council member, Beta Corwin whispered, “He’s not bluffing.”
Magnus’ lips curled into a snarl. “You’ll regret this. Both of you. I will make sure the SilverShield Pack pays.”
Damien tilted his head, his gaze sharp as a blade. “If your threats are empty, your reputation dies. If your threats are real… your empire falls. Either way, your choice defines history.”
Whispers turned into murmurs of agreement. Some council members even nodded subtly, aligning themselves without open defiance. The air had shifted irreversibly. Damien’s presence, coupled with the SilverShield influence, had altered the balance.
