Chapter 71
Freshia Ava’s POV
The explanation given by George kept ringing in my mind. That incident actually happened to me when I was little that made me lose my memory. My Grandma never said anything about this. All this time he raised me as if nothing had happened in my past. Shouldn't it be that if a major incident happened when I was little, even if the incident caused me to lose my memory, grandma should have told me about it? But he never said anything.
My Grandma always shows me photos from my childhood when it's my birthday or when I'm at a certain event. It has complete documentation of the moments I celebrated birthdays from the ages of five to twelve. And after that, my birthday was never celebrated again. He replaced that tradition with us always praying together as I got older.
That's what I remember about my childhood, which if you think about it all only comes from the photos my grandmother showed me. I can't remember and feel the moments that I passed, without the help of the photos my grandmother gave me and all the stories about my childhood. However, my grandmother never discussed any major incidents or events that happened when I was little. And I also never questioned or brought up anything about my not being able to remember everything well. So I didn't think that there might be an incident that happened in my childhood that made me lose all memory about that time.
While I was thinking about all that and sitting in front of the fire, suddenly Eros came and sat beside me. "Already home?" I asked him casually. Indeed, Eros was not at home all day.
“Yeah, just now and I saw you sitting here. It seems like you were lost in thought, what were you thinking about?" Eros replied, asking me again.
"About my dream and George's explanation yesterday. I still couldn't believe it when I heard all of George's explanations, but I felt that the dream felt very real. That woman might be the key to everything. But I really don't remember who he is.”
Eros was silent for a moment, looking thoughtful. Then he said again, “Then try consulting again with George, Freshia. I think it's better for us to try to find out the truth so that everything becomes clear.” Eros said.
I paused, trying to consider his suggestion. “To be honest, I'm afraid to find out everything. I'm afraid that later I will find something that is not appropriate or anything that might affect my life now, Eros." I said quietly.
"Hey, listen to me," Eros said as if telling me to also turn to him and I did. “Freshia, everything is in the past after all. You find out about it just so that everything is clear, including about your dream yesterday. In fact, when you think about that dream and your head becomes dizzy, doesn't that mean there is something that really needs to be checked? As for what happens in the future, we'll think about it later. But I'm sure your past will not change your life now. Don't be afraid because you are not alone now. I will accompany you, Freshia.” Eros said while looking at me deeply.
He succeeded in making me move with his words and also his gaze at me. Made me suddenly feel confident about uncovering my past. "Okay, then I agree to try to find out about my past, Eros," I said so confidently.
After that, Eros immediately gave me George's number so I could contact him directly and consult him again. Over the phone, George told me to come tomorrow to his clinic so he could explain the methods he would use to me to help me remember everything. Apart from that, if I later agree to do this method, it is likely that everything will start to be done directly on the visit the next day.
Therefore, the next day I kept my appointment with George at his clinic at noon. Of course, with Eros accompanying me. Without waiting long, a nurse who was George's assistant immediately invited Eros and me to enter the room where George was already preparing behind the doctor's desk.
“Hi, please sit down.” Greeted George when we entered his room.
Eros and I immediately occupied the chairs provided in front of George. “So you want to find out about an incident that happened when you were little, Freshia?” George asked then.
"Yes, as I said yesterday on the phone, I want to try to find out everything, George," I replied.
"If you really want to recover your lost childhood memories, the method could be hypnotherapy, Freshia. I will try to help you to hypnotize you so that you relax and I will also guide you to dive into your memories one by one, which of course is done slowly. Because I warned you from the start that this will make you feel uncomfortable. And that might feel hard for you. That's why we won't do it all at once, because you definitely need time to remember it, Freshia." George explained it to me.
“So, you're saying that this therapy session will take time and I won't be able to remember everything right away today, is that right?” Now it was my turn to ask George.
“Yes, that's right, Freshia. Actually, success depends on you. Are you strong and ready to accept whatever reality happened in your past? Because the brain is a signal giver to the whole body. If your brain refuses or even feels unprepared to receive the information we want to dig up, it will be increasingly difficult for you to remember it." George replied.
Then suddenly Eros grabbed my hand and held it. “Like I said yesterday. Don't be afraid to find out everything because you are not alone and will never be alone, Freshia.” He said accompanied by a smile for me.
I nodded my head, feeling confident again to carry out the therapy session described by George. “Then do it, George. Please help me to remember all the memories of my childhood that disappeared and so that I can find out who the female figure who actually appeared in my dream was. I want to reveal everything.” I said with definite confidence.
After that, George directed me to a long sofa which was not far from where we were talking earlier. Then he told me to get comfortable in my position on the sofa. He gave me some directions before actually starting the therapy. While showing a pendulum in his hand, he said that I should focus my eyes and thoughts only on the pendulum which was moving right and left in front of me. And George gave me orders to count backward from ten to one. Finally, my eyes felt so heavy and I lost consciousness and fell asleep.
