Chapter 147 Chapter 147

Chapter 147 Chapter 147
Taylor's POV

Willow answered on the first call.

"We need everyone," I said, my voice still shaking with adrenaline. "Right now.

Yvaine's a suppressed wolf, older than any of us knew, and she's heading toward some hidden site to finish a corrupted version of the covenant using Kessler's blood."

"We're already moving," Willow said, no hesitation in her voice at all. "Give me a location."

"That's the problem," I replied. "We don't have one yet."

"Then we'll find it faster than she thinks anyone can," Willow countered.

"We've spent our whole lives learning how to see what other people miss. Give us twenty minutes."

She kept her word.

Word spread fast through the silent bloodline, quiet messages passing hand to hand, phone to phone, girls scattering through the territory in ways no official search team could match.

Within fifteen minutes, one of them spotted a car matching Yvaine's description heading north, toward an old stretch of forest nobody used anymore.

"There's a clearing out there," Maria said, cross referencing old maps fast. "Marked on some of the oldest pack records as sacred ground. I always assumed it was symbolic and nobody ever confirmed an actual location existed."

"She confirmed it herself," Hunter said grimly. "Let's move."

We reached the clearing just as the moon climbed high overhead, the same strange silver light from before hanging heavy across an ancient stone circle far older than the grove where I had been born.

Yvaine stood at its center, Kessler's vial already emptied into a shallow bowl carved into the central stone, her hands moving fast through some old ritual none of us fully understood.

"Stop!" I shouted, running forward, Doran already surging hot beneath my skin.

She looked up, unbothered by our arrival. "You're too late," she said calmly.

"The binding's already begun."

The ground beneath the stone circle began to glow faintly, old symbols carved into the earth lighting up one by one, ancient power stirring awake after what felt like centuries of dormant silence.

"We have to stop this," Asher said, already moving toward her.

Yvaine raised a hand, and something invisible slammed into him, throwing him backward across the clearing.

"Asher!" I screamed.

Hunter lunged next, faster, but she caught him too, gold light flaring from her palm, driving him back with the same brutal force.

I felt fury and fear tangle together fast inside me, Doran answering immediately, my body already shifting before I fully decided to let her.

I hit the ground on four paws, fully wolf, and charged.

Yvaine turned toward me at the last second and her own wolf finally surfaced too, older and stranger than anything I'd faced before, her fur pale and ghostlike under the moonlight.

We collided hard, teeth and claws tearing through the tense night air, the ancient symbols beneath us glowing brighter with every passing second as her ritual continued to build despite the fight raging around it.

Willow and the silent bloodline arrived just as the fight reached its peak.

They were pouring into the clearing from every direction, more than a dozen girls finally standing openly together for the first time.

Their own suppressed strength answering the pull of the awakening symbols beneath us.

"Together!" Willow shouted. "Like Taylor showed us, choose it, don't just react to it!"

One by one, the silent bloodline began to shift too, fur and shape rippling free after generations of suppression, a dozen wolves joining the fight against Yvaine's growing power.

She staggered under the sudden weight of it, her concentration breaking as the combined strength of so many awakened bloodlines pushed back against whatever she'd been trying to force alone.

"No," she snarled, human again suddenly, blood running from a wound along her arm. "This isn't how it's supposed to happen!"

"You wanted power without ever earning trust," I said, shifting back too, standing tall despite the exhaustion pulling hard at every muscle. "That's exactly why it's failing."

The glowing symbols beneath the stone circle flickered violently, then collapsed inward all at once, the corrupted ritual finally breaking apart completely under the weight of unity instead of force.

Yvaine collapsed to her knees, drained and defeated, the ancient wolf power she'd hidden for so long finally spent completely.

Hunter and Asher reached my side, both bruised but alive, guards moving in fast to secure Yvaine before she could attempt anything further.

"It's over," Hunter said quietly, disbelief thick in his voice. "Actually over."

I looked around the clearing, at Willow and the silent bloodline standing openly together for the first time in their lives, at Hunter and Asher steady on either side of me, and felt something settle deep in my chest that I hadn't felt in longer than I could remember.

Peace, fragile but real.

The days that followed passed in a strange, quiet blur. Yvaine faced the council for everything she'd done, her decades of manipulation finally exposed completely.

Kessler was still recovering and would face judgment of his own once he was strong enough to stand trial.

Dorian's grave, quiet and forgotten now, marked the end of a chapter none of us would ever fully forget.

The silent bloodline stopped hiding after that night, stepping forward openly into pack life, no longer forced to bury who they truly were.

I stood at my own graduation a week later, gown finally worn the way it was always meant to be, Mom crying proudly in the audience.

Hunter and Asher both watching from the crowd with matching, unresolved expressions I still hadn't found the courage to fully address.

Whatever came next between the three of us, whatever the future actually held now that the immediate danger had finally passed, I understood one thing clearly, standing there in the sunlight with my diploma finally in hand.

I wasn't the broken, wolfless girl who'd once cried alone in a bathroom stall anymore.

I was exactly who I had always been meant to become, and for the first time in over a year, nobody was hunting me for it.
