Chapter 162. Tear Us Apart
Chapter 162. Tear Us Apart
The original plan was that he would only stay in the TV room for fifteen minutes. To his surprise, Landon managed to stay there for almost thirty minutes to accompany Archer to watch his favorite cartoon and Archer was sitting on his lap. Riley put a bowl of popcorn and lemonade to snack on while they watched. Riley silently watched Landon, who was so serious about watching the cartoon, like he was watching it for the first time.
“Dad, how come Mickey Mouse can walk upright? Isn't a mouse supposed to walk on all fours?"
"Because it's just a movie. You can even get them to walk on their backs.”
Archer looked at him confused, he blinked twice and looked dissatisfied with Landon’s answer.
“No honey, Mickey Mouse is different from the mice you often see at home. Look, Mickey Mouse is wearing shoes. That's what allowed him to walk upright like you."
“So, all animals wearing shoes can walk upright? Goofy also wears shoes, he walks very upright and runs.”
“Donald Duck and Daisy also wear shoes. All the animals in the cartoon stand up straight because they have shoes on their feet.”
"Wow cool! I also always wear shoes. How about we put shoes on Junior, so Junior can walk?”
“We don't have shoes for Junior, honey. And I'm not sure Junior would want to wear shoes like Goofy."
“Is that how a mother works? Making up a fictitious story to fool his son?” whispered Landon in her ear.
Riley remained calm about all the accusations that Landon had thrown at her. She did have to be more patient while facing Landon.
“You say that because you don't know how children work with their minds. Their thoughts are very different from those of adults. Children fantasize more, and they like fantasies that are packaged in the form of cartoons. We must not destroy the imaginative phase in his life because that phase is included in the stages of child development."
“But that would only fool him.”
“He won't become stupid from watching cartoons. After all, a child as young as Archer wouldn't understand the answer you gave about such absolute facts and truths."
Landon said nothing, remained silent with his eyes fixed on the screen showing a cartoon about a mouse and his coquettish girlfriend.
Riley smiled slightly as she saw Landon, who had stayed in his place longer. Landon might not have enjoyed the film that much, but Landon enjoyed a moment that he rarely had so far. Landon had Archer on his lap, who was very talkative about this and that. He tried to answer as best he could about the strange children's questions that seemed foreign to him. As Archer began to get sleepy from the movies and filled with the food he was devouring at the dining table, Archer's body leaned more and more against Landon's chest. His head drooped on Landon's sturdy arms until Archer fell asleep in Landon's arms.
"He's asleep," Landon muttered very quietly. He stroked Archer's brown hair slowly, feeling its softness in his hands.
“He was exhausted with satisfaction. Thank you for fulfilling his wish.”
"Is that weird?"
Riley raised one eyebrow. "What?"
“Sit here with him and watch a movie?”
"Not at all. This is a normal and natural thing for a father to do. Isn't it nice to interact with your son?”
There was no answer from Landon. Riley smiled softly and understood. Maybe Landon was still too unfamiliar with all that.
"Should we move him to his room?"
"I guess so. Do you want to carry him to his bedroom?”
Landon didn't say anything, but he lifted Archer slowly and carried him to his bedroom. Archer looked so small in his arms. His body sank into the muscles of his arms. Archer's head drooped on Landon's sturdy biceps, his legs dangling in the air and rocking gently as Landon carried him up the stairs one by one.
"Are you going to work after this?"
Riley decided to start a conversation while walking behind him. She didn't like the silence between them.
"Why?"
“Aren't you supposed to be working? You said that at the dining table."
“I can change my schedule at any time without needing to confirm with you.”
"It's ok. I'm just asking."
They finished the conversation before entering Archer's room. This guest room had now become Archer's official room during his stay in New York. Riley didn't know when she would return to Charleston because she wanted to do some things there for a while. She had plans that she had promised Logan. She tried to always be gentle in front of Landon and tried to understand him, which had been very difficult to understand.
“Thank you for bringing Archer here. He will sleep well tonight.”
Riley smoothed the blanket around Archer's body after tucking a bolster into his right side.
Before leaving Archer's room, Riley kissed Archer's forehead gently and stroked the top of his head. She slipped a prayer between kisses on Archer's forehead. Then she came out of the room and closed the door slowly.
Landon was still standing nearby, watching her close the door, then the two of them stood facing each other in front of Archer's room.
"Good night. I'd better get some sleep too."
Riley suddenly felt awkward because Landon stared so intensely. She lowered her head as she walked past Landon to go to her room, but suddenly Landon's palm gripped her wrist. Her body was pulled until she hit Landon's sturdy body. Her nape was suddenly pushed forward, and a second later Landon kissed her lips passionately.
Riley's palms pressed against Landon's hard chest muscles. She responded to every lip movement Landon made, following the beat and not trying to resist. She also deepened the kiss when Landon started to stop the rhythm of the kiss because Landon wanted to move backwards to let her go.
"Landon..." Riley muttered hoarsely.
Landon stiffened. The first time Riley called his name in between their intense kiss. Riley's palm touched his chest, which was getting tighter and tighter. It was like an invitation to do more and an agreement.
"Say my name. Call my name, Riley."
"Landon. You are Landon. I recognize you."
Landon didn't allow Riley to talk anymore. He kissed Riley's lips again and carried Riley to his room. Riley did not refuse at all. Instead, she wrapped her arms around his neck while gently stroking his head.
The hallway was very quiet. There were only the two of them there, embracing each other in a desperate sigh. Landon really had to restrain himself from touching Riley roughly outside his room and did it a little civilly this time. Landon pushed his bedroom door open with his foot, then slipped his and Riley's body easily through the crack in the door without breaking their kiss. Landon then kicked the door shut with the heel of his foot. He walked hastily to his bed which was waiting for him to make love to Riley on it.
Landon gently placed Riley on the bed, instead of throwing her roughly like before. Riley laughed remembering their past.
"What?"
"Nothing. Just remembering the past. You used to throw me roughly on the bed."
Landon threw his shirt on the floor and knelt on top of Riley's tiny body beneath him. Riley was still laughing. Her voice was very cheerful and crisp. Her face had a natural blush that was so beautiful that Landon was mesmerized by her beauty.
"You knew it was me?"
"Not at first," Riley wrapped her arms around Landon's shoulders, gently stroked the nape of his neck and stared intensely into his dark eyes.
"You are a mystery to me. You and Logan. You guys confused me at first, but slowly I can understand you both.”
"We are two different elements."
Landon kissed the corner of Riley's lips. He groaned in exasperation because his dick was so hard to control. He wanted to rip Riley's dress right now, but he didn't want to lose this precious moment with Riley. He didn't want to rush. Enjoy this night in a relaxed and meaningful way.
"I know. And I'm glad to understand you guys in the end. Where is Logan now?”
"Sleeping soundly. Don't talk about Logan when we're in bed."
"Is that the rule?" asked Riley coquettishly. She touched Landon's hard, throbbing jaw.
“What are you going to do to us, Landon? Are you going to take Archer away from me?”
"I haven't decided yet," Landon kissed the crook of Riley's neck. Inhaling as much of his favorite scent as he could ever be satisfied with its intoxicating scent.
"I hope you don't tear us apart."
"I'll think about that later. If you can satisfy me tonight, I'll think of a good reward for you."
Riley smirked sarcastically. "So you're challenging me, eh?"
Riley's thumb was on Landon's lips, stroking it gently. Landon groaned under the soft caress of her thumb. Landon couldn't help but bite her fingers lightly.
"I'll do it on every inch of your skin and not just on your slender fingers," Landon whispered hoarsely in her ear.
Riley moaned softly, feeling Landon's every touch so intoxicating. She was sure she wouldn't resist his every touch and would just accept it with open arms. Landon bit her earlobe, making her chuckle in amusement with a frustrated sigh.
"Do it now, Landon. Do whatever you want because tonight I am yours.”
