Chapter 163: Sweet Morning With Landon
Landon awoke from his slumber, feeling a warm breeze on his neck tickle with pleasure. Riley was sleeping soundly in his arms. There was no rejection at all from her. No anger or other annoying things. Tonight was just about satisfaction and enjoyment for both of them. They cooperate with each other for the pleasure that rolls around them ferociously. Riley didn't resist his every touch or anything he did to her. On the other hand, Riley seemed to really enjoy every touch and shouted his name every time the peak of pleasure came to her.
“Landon...”
Riley's soft palm touched his face. Landon kissed it gently as the palms danced around his face.
"Why don't you sleep?"
“Can't miss this rare moment. You lay quietly next to me, naked, without swearing. What a miracle."
Riley opened her eyes slowly. She looked up to see Landon, who was looking down at her.
"Is that weird?"
"It's a bit strange to me," Landon smirked. He rolled Riley's body until now Riley was on top of him.
"What are you doing Landon?" Riley whined. Her palm rested on Landon's chest, which was moving up and down gently.
"I've always been curious to see you above me."
"Good grief. You're terrible. Have you had that wild fantasy all along?”
Riley used her elbows to rest her chin on Landon's chest. She noticed everything on Landon's face. His often wrinkled forehead, his black eyeballs, a dark aura that radiated from his sullen face, and his lips that always formed a smirk.
"I should have noticed you long ago. I'm always so emotional about my own condition that I never pay attention to you two."
"Which one would you choose between us?"
“How could I possibly choose you?” Riley chuckled softly.
Landon watched Riley with admiration. Without realizing it, he had fallen in love with Riley. Everything in her had melted the ice in his heart slowly. Logan was probably right that Riley would not leave him and would shower him with so much love.
"Why not?" Landon grabbed Riley's neck and kissed her gently. "Now will you choose me?"
Riley hit his chest lightly and snorted. “You think I can melt with a kiss? No, I can't choose between you guys. You both mean a lot to me. I can't lose you."
“There will only be one of us who rules this body. Me or Logan. This body cannot accommodate the two of us.”
“How could that possibly happen? Logan will die if you take control of this body?”
“He will fuse with my cruel soul. I will dominate.”
"And vice versa?"
Landon nodded slowly. Don't know why he was feeling annoyed, because Riley seemed to be thinking more about Logan.
"Would you be sad if you lost Logan?" Landon asked harshly.
"Didn't you say you didn't want to talk about Logan when we were together?"
"Then we can discuss other things. Why are you fucking hot up there?”
Riley rolled her eyes lazily. "You started again. Your head is always full of horrible lewd stuff.”
"Actually no. I've thought about you naked a few times," Landon chuckled hoarsely.
"When?"
“When I was shot and passed out at Roberto's house. The first time I woke up, I saw you sitting in that old rocking chair. Looked pissed and bored."
"You've been out for a very long time. There's nothing I can do but read a book. But I'm getting tired of reading books."
“It was the first time I felt that my life had meaning.”
"What? Did you?"
Riley folded her arms over Landon's chest, looking at Landon's face more intensely to get more honesty from him.
"I thought no one cared about me. Everyone is shit. Whenever I get hurt, I always wake up alone without anyone.”
“Sorry, but is it always you? Logan never got injured during the time he took over this body?”
"No. Logan had a weak and fragile soul. While anger and hatred are my main sources of energy. When we started to push, I would appear to take over everything. I almost died when I got a shot in the chest. But luckily I survived. And when our car was followed, I took over this body to defend myself from those bad guys.”
"You're tough, Landon. You're great," Riley rubbed Landon's jaw gently.
“I can't imagine how my life would be if you didn't protect me all this time. You saved me from Jacob's clutches."
"You are worth fighting for. I saw the sincerity in your eyes that night. Are you really worried about me?”
Riley's eyes moved left and right, weighing her answer with a nosy face.
"You think?"
"I'm serious. Say something that will make me happy. For tonight to be meaningful to us.”
“Wow, did you just become a romantic guy?”
“You can take it that way. So?"
"What? After all the things I've said to you about my declaration of love, you're still asking whether I'm worried about you or not? What kind of stupid question is that?” Riley snorted.
“You said it in front of Logan. Not in front of me."
“So it's different? All right, I'm worried about you, Landon. I was so scared when you lay weak in the ICU.”
"I'm not weak," Landon rebutted quickly.
"Alright, you're not weak. But you looked really sick that day.”
"I know. I almost killed myself again that day.”
“Can you stay away from those dangerous things? I don't want to see you hurt again."
Suddenly, Riley's eyes became misty. She didn't know why she suddenly felt so sad when she recalled the tense moments in the past.
"I'm afraid of losing you, Landon!"
Riley suddenly hugged Landon's neck tightly and cried in the crook of his neck.
“Now you have Archer and me. We both need you."
I also need you...
But nothing came out of his lips. Everything was just silence accompanied by the sound of Riley's sobs that sounded heart-rending.

The next morning, Landon found the bed next to him empty. Riley disappeared from his bed, and the space next to him had been tidied up, as if Riley had never slept there last night. He immediately got up from his bed and took his shorts, which were lying at the foot of the bed. All of Riley's clothes had disappeared from his room. He felt anger and worry melting into one in his heart. He couldn't believe that he could sleep so soundly last night that he didn't know that Riley had left his room and gone somewhere. Running away was the last thing he wanted Riley to do. Didn't they agree last night to have and complement each other?
Landon walked hurriedly down the stairs. He passed through the empty hall, then opened the front door to see some of his men warming up before jogging around his mansion.
"Where's Riley? Did you see her?”
"No one's been through that door since a while ago, sir. So is the gate. Raffles looked after it all night, and he made sure no one had stepped out of there."
Landon stared at his men for a long time, then he stepped back and slammed the door behind him quietly. If Riley was still at home, why did Riley leave him alone in his room?
He walked inside through the hall, then went down the hall to get some cold water from the fridge. He needed to flush his dry throat first before moving on to find Riley again.
But when he was almost near the door leading to the kitchen, he could faintly smell the food and the soft voice of Riley singing one of her favorite ballads. Landon quickened his pace to go to the kitchen. There he saw Riley turning something in front of the stove. There were three plates on the bar table that had been filled with scrambled eggs that smelled delicious.
"Landon! You surprised me," Riley turned her head just as Landon was standing behind her back watching the pancakes sizzling on the pan.
"What are you doing?"
"What do you think? Of course, cooking. Good morning," Suddenly, Riley greeted him cheerfully.
Landon pulled her waist and gave her a soft kiss on the lips.
"Where's Betty?"'
“I told her to go clean the garden. There were so many apples that fell on the ground. Today I will cook breakfast for you. Sit down, I've made coffee for you."
"What time did you wake up?"
“Mmm… maybe an hour ago. You slept very well."
Riley walked to the cupboard to get a mug. She poured coffee from the coffee machine into a mug and gave it to Logan.
“Black and thick. To your liking."
"Thanks. Have you been cooking all this time?”
“Did you forget that I made breakfast while you were staying at my house?”
"That's Logan."
"Oh sorry, I forgot," Riley looked at him with an apologetic look.
"Smells good. I thought you were running away from me again. You suddenly disappeared from my room."
“I won't run away again this time. But will you let me go back to my house? I have classes to attend and jobs as a virtual assistant.”
"I'm not letting you go home," Landon's voice was firm and absolute.
"Alright, I'll apply for leave. Then what about my job?”
“Leave your job. You don't have to work because I'll take care of all your needs."
Riley huffed in annoyance. She turned to turn off the stove and set the pancakes on a plate.
“I work not only to make money, but also to build relationships. I like being a virtual assistant. If you don't let me go back to SC, lend me your laptop. I need to work on some things.”
"You can use my laptop in my study."
"Okay. I think it's a fair decision. Do you want breakfast here or at the dining table?”
"Here."
Riley took the plate with the largest portion of pancakes and eggs. She placed it on the bar table, then took maple syrup from the kitchen set.
"I want my breakfast menu to be you."
Riley turned to him, one eyebrow raised. "Seriously?"
"Come here. Put your pretty ass here," Landon patted his thigh several times.
"Are you really serious about your request?"
"Come here, Riley. You made me lose my temper."
Riley hesitantly dropped herself onto Landon's lap. She felt anxious if someone suddenly walked into the kitchen and saw her in this position with Landon.
"Feed me."
"What? You're telling me to sit here just to feed you?"
“Do you want to make love to me here? I'd be happy to make it happen, honey."
"Tsk, you're terrible. What will your hands do, hmm?”
“My hands will work elsewhere. Now feed me pancakes and eggs. Extra maple syrup. I'm starving."
Landon tied his hands behind Riley's back. He was very satisfied looking closely at Riley's face and taking food directly from her hand.
"I didn't think you could be this spoiled."
Landon opened his mouth as Riley stuffed a piece of pancake with melted maple sauce.
"I won't show it every day, but once in a while it is fine, right?"
“Well, that's fine. Archer will be jealous seeing you fed like this. I've always told him to eat by himself since he was able to hold his own spoon when he was one."
“I can't hold my own spoon. My hands are busy."
“Yeah, you were busy groping me back there. Is my cooking good?" Riley suddenly changed the topic because she didn't want to talk about lewd things during breakfast.
"Not bad. At least your food is still edible.”
“Seriously? After all the things I've done for you, you can only judge my cooking as not bad? You really are cruel, Landon.”
Riley pursed her lips in annoyance and didn't want to feed Landon anymore. She struggled to be released from his lap as she was about to wake Archer in his room. But Landon just hugged her tighter and tied her tighter.
"Let go of me, Logan. You make me angry."
"You call me Logan?" Landon narrowed his eyes sarcastically.
"Sorry," Riley chuckled.
"Sometimes it's nice to tease you. Now let me go!”
"No. You're not done with your job yet. Give me another pancake. Your cooking is excellent, Riley. I'm just kidding."
"Are you serious?" Riley cupped Landon's cheek. Landon couldn't stop himself from kissing her cute pursed lips and biting them in exasperation.
"Mppffhhh... you're cheating!" Riley exclaimed angrily. "You shouldn't kiss me when I'm angry."
“There is no such rule. Now give me some more food. I am hungry. At nine, I will go to the office."
"You work? I thought that Logan was the only one doing those jobs.”
“I can work like Logan. We don't have separate brains. What Logan has in his brain, I also have in mine."
"Cool. I'll also be working after finishing all the things Archer needs. You're going to go see him before work?"
"I will see him."
"Good." Riley put the last piece of pancake into Landon's mouth. It turned out that Landon was starving, so he could eat very quickly.
“Archer will nag at asking where you are if you don't see him before work.”
"I'll make sure he knows where I'm going today."
“OK, big guy. Your food is finished. Time for you to get ready for the office, and I'll go wake Archer."
Riley got off Logan's lap. She hummed softly as she placed the dirty dishes in the sink. She paused for a moment, considering washing the dishes. But in the end she chose to leave it there to be washed later.
When she turned around, Landon was standing by the bar stool, staring at her intensely.
"Why are you still here?"
"Taking a shower together?"
"Good grief! Big no. Go take a shower by yourself. I have to wake Archer up now.”
Landon laughed. For the first time in years, he laughed at the adorable behavior of Riley, who was running away from him. If he didn't have an important meeting in an hour, he would definitely run after her and drag her into the bathroom with him. But he just stood by the kitchen door, watching her who had just disappeared behind the dining room door with the sound of footsteps echoing loudly throughout the mansion.
