Chapter 32
Sarah, with a mischievous grin, turned to Andrew and said, “Andrew, I heard you made a reservation here as well. Which suite did you book? Show us around!”
Andrew responded calmly, “Honestly, I didn’t pick a particular suite. I just sent a text to the restaurant’s manager and asked him to arrange a reservation for me. Let me check my phone for the details.”
Aden looked at him with a mocking expression. “Do you even know who the manager is here? It’s the famous Nicholas Smith! How dare you speak so arrogantly? Be careful, or he might just crush you like a bug!”
Andrew ignored the taunts and pulled out his phone to read the message. “It says here that the Platinum Suite has been reserved for me.”
Aden burst into laughter. “Hahaha! The Platinum Suite? Are you serious? Only a select few in all of Beverly Hills have the privilege of accessing that suite! You’re just a joke!”
Loretta observed the situation silently, her disappointment growing. She had thought of Andrew as someone with limited means and influence, but now she saw that he was pretending to be more important than he actually was. Her admiration for him diminished.
Andrew simply smiled at their derisive comments. To him, these people were merely pompous fools, and he wasn’t about to let their arrogance affect him.
Daniel spoke up, “Andrew, even my father doesn’t have the honor of dining in the Platinum Suite. You must be out of your mind!”
Sarah chimed in, “Daniel is right. A person like you isn’t even worthy of having leftovers from the Platinum Suite, let alone dining there!”
Andrew gave Daniel a cold, mocking glance, thinking about how they didn’t realize that Nicholas was behind the recent troubles faced by Daniel’s cousin. It was amusing to see them so oblivious.
With this thought in mind, Andrew decided to provoke them further. “Daniel, I heard your cousin had a bit of trouble yesterday. Is that true?”
Daniel looked at him with curiosity. “How do you know about that?”
Before waiting for a response, Daniel continued, “Yes, he was attacked and is now in a coma. We are trying to find out who did it and will make them pay for what they did! Do you have any information?”
Andrew shook his head, pretending ignorance. “I don’t know the details, just that there was an incident.”
Daniel glared at Andrew, his frustration evident. “Don’t make fun of the Kane family! If you keep it up, you’ll regret it!”
Andrew ignored the threat, amused by their ignorance. It was funny how they hadn’t realized that Nicholas was responsible for their cousin’s misfortune.
At that moment, a man dressed in a sleek black suit approached them and stopped in front of Andrew. Recognizing him as one of Nicholas’s personal guards, Andrew saw the man’s polite smile and almost respectful bow.
The guard addressed Andrew with a courteous tone. “Mr. Blackwood, your suite is ready. Please follow me.”
Aden was taken aback. He hadn’t even mentioned their arrival to anyone, yet here was a guard providing such attentive service. The level of hospitality was impressive.
Daniel was astonished. “Aden, you must be very well-connected. This man works directly for Nicholas Smith, and you’re getting this kind of VIP treatment. Do you know him personally? I had no idea you had such connections!”
Aden chuckled, savoring the attention. “Oh, there’s no need to boast about such things. It’s better to stay humble and keep a low profile. Hahaha!”
Loretta was even more impressed, seeing that Aden was far more influential than Andrew. She started to think that aligning with Aden might be more beneficial for her own interests.
The guard led them to the entrance of the Platinum Suite and handed Andrew a document to sign. “Sir, please sign here to confirm your reservation.”
Aden was stunned. He had expected to have to formally announce their arrival, not receive such personalized attention. This level of service was beyond what he had anticipated.
Daniel looked on in awe. “Aden, you must have significant influence. This man is directly connected to Nicholas Smith, and you’re receiving royal treatment. Are you close to him? I didn’t realize you had such a prominent connection!”
Aden chuckled, pleased by the admiration. “It’s best to remain modest about these matters. It’s nothing to flaunt!”
Loretta was impressed, noting how much more significant Aden was compared to Andrew. She considered that being close to Aden could be advantageous for her future.
The guard then presented Andrew with a form to sign, which was necessary to finalize the reservation for the Platinum Suite. Before Andrew could take the pen, Aden snatched it from him and signed the document with a flourish.
“Put that pen down!” Aden barked. “You have no right to sign for this room. Do you even know who the suite is meant for?”
The guard looked at Andrew and seemed to question whether he needed help dealing with Aden. Andrew shook his head slightly, signaling for the guard to let Aden take charge.
They entered the suite, and everyone took their seats. Aden placed Loretta at the head of the table, while Andrew sat off to the side. Loretta occasionally engaged with Andrew in polite conversation.
Soon, a series of extravagant dishes and bottles of fine wine began to be served. The meal featured luxurious ingredients such as top-quality abalone and Australian lobster, and the wine was a rare vintage worth over two hundred thousand dollars a bottle.
Loretta was taken aback by the opulence of the meal laid before them.
Daniel looked at Aden with envy and asked, “Aden, what’s the total cost of this meal?”
Aden boasted, “I’ve set aside five hundred thousand dollars for this dinner.”
Daniel’s eyes widened. “Really? That’s an enormous amount of money. Even just the cost of the wine exceeds what you would typically spend!”
Aden managed a confident smile, though he felt a twinge of anxiety. He began to wonder if Nicholas was giving him special treatment, though he didn’t know the man personally.
Loretta’s eyes shone with admiration as she thanked Aden. “Thank you for such a wonderful experience, Aden!”
Aden’s concerns were eased by her praise, and he smiled back. “It’s my pleasure, Loretta.”
With a smirk, Aden turned to Andrew and taunted, “Andrew, I bet you’ve never experienced such luxury before.”
Andrew responded with a sardonic smile. “What makes you think you’re so impressive?”
Aden scoffed, “You’re lucky just to be here. If you had ever experienced such high-class dining before, I’d be amazed!”
Andrew simply smiled. His childhood had been filled with luxuries far beyond what most people could imagine, and such meals were routine for him.
Sarah glared at Andrew with irritation. “Andrew, what’s with your attitude? You’re getting a free meal, and that is how you respond? How ungrateful!”
At that moment, the door to the suite was flung open with a loud crash, and a rough voice bellowed, “Who are you people? How did you get into this room?”
A burly man in an expensive suit stood at the doorway, wearing a heavy gold chain and a long scar running from his eye to his chin.
He held the reservation slip in one hand and a baseball bat in the other, his expression fierce.
A group of imposing men with visible tattoos followed him into the room, forming a line around the table.
Everyone was shocked by the sudden intrusion.
The man was known as Victor “The Viper,” Nicholas Smith’s enforcer. He had been assigned the task of ensuring the Platinum Suite was properly managed by Mr. Blackwood.
Upon discovering that someone named Harold Johnson had signed up for the suite, Victor was enraged. It was unacceptable for an unworthy individual to have taken the place meant for a distinguished guest.
