Chapter 131 131

Chapter 131 131
Kimberly’s POV

They were all staring at me like a mother hen, and it was very uncomfortable, but I tried to suck it up because I knew they were trying to look after me and make sure I was doing fine. There was nothing I could do about that, so I continued my work.

I was very hyper today, even though anytime I moved, I felt a little bit of pain in my knee from where I had injured it earlier. I still tried. And I also tried as much as possible not to focus on the fact that his handkerchief was still the one around my leg.

The thought of removing it had come up more than twice, and each time I thought I would remove it, I just left it alone, thinking there was no point.

But then, I knew the main reason why I did not do it. And I decided to pretend like I did not know.

“Are you sure that you’re okay?” I heard Steph ask me again after she had cornered me in the kitchen area as I was about to step out, and I sighed gently.

“I’m fine, Steph. See, I’m good.” I raised my hand as if to show her that I was doing well. But from the look on her face, she was not taking it, and I smiled.

“Come on, Mum. I’m really good.” I tried again, and she stepped away, allowing me to walk past her, and I quickly breezed past her. Not wanting to make her press and continue asking me questions.

The night was already wrapping up. And I did not want to sit still for anything. So I tried to think of something else to do. The business was calm now. So I went into the kitchen again, and my eyes glanced around and saw the trash bag. Without thinking twice about it, I carried it out back and threw it into the trash can.

It was outside and in an alleyway people passed often. But it was cold and silent tonight, and the only sound that I could hear was from the dingy light stand and the twitching of the light over and over. Nothing else.

“Who would have thought that I would see you again like this?” I jumped at the sound of the sudden voice that came from behind me and turned instinctively.

I saw a guy who didn’t look familiar to me at all. Or maybe it was the light that did not allow me to see him.

“Who are you?” I asked, feeling myself creeped out by the way he was staring at me. My skin was crawling, and I was breathing rather heavily.

“Come on now. Don’t hurt me further. I was the one who came to the diner the other day, and you proceeded to embarrass me in front of everyone.” He said, malice in his tone and his voice. I tried to remember, but nothing was coming.

Just at that moment, the light turned on again, and it was very sharp and bright, so it reflected in the face of the person that was speaking to me, and I was shocked out of my mind. What the fuck does this guy want?

“What do you want from me? I’m not really in the mood for your jokes again. Stay away.” I snapped angrily at him, and he only smiled lazily.

“I don’t care what you think. It’s all about what I think flies here. Whatever you have with Brianna is your own shit to handle and settle. This is with me.” The look on his face made me step back instinctively. Then I bumped into a body behind me, and my blood went cold.

“Surprise.” The guy behind me said when I turned to face him.

I looked at the ends of the alleyway. It was not even long, but there was no one walking in here or attempting to come in.

“Don’t worry about anything. We will take care of you. No one is coming to save you, though. I want you to know that.” The one behind my back started to touch me, and I used my elbow to hit him without thinking about it.

“Don’t fucking touch me. I told you.” I snapped.

He doubled over, and his back hit the other wall. And I pushed him to the side with all of my strength so that he would not stay behind me again.

From the body language of the one who was talking to me before now, he was shocked. Probably not expecting that.

“I’m the wrongest person that you think you can jump. I’m not defenseless. So how about you follow the route you came from and leave.” I said in a calm tone.

I’m not sure if I would be able to take both of them together if we were to fight it out. So, I tried that card.

“You bitch….”

Just then, someone walked into the alley. It was a lady from her body proportions. When instead of passing, she stood in front of me, I knew something was up, and before she opened her mouth, I knew who it was. I folded my hands.

“What do you want, Amelia? This is my place of work, not where you can decide to come after me with your what now? Minions?” I said, folding my hands.

Her aura was a little different from what I was used to. I stared at her intently and tried to figure out what she wanted to do. She gestured to the guys, and they left. Leaving the two of us here, and I cocked my head to the side. What was she trying to pull here?

“You know, I wonder sometimes how you think about yourself.” She said out loud, her voice a little deeper than it was normally. And she started to prowl in front of me, and I scoffed.

“What’s your issue with me precisely? I want to know. Because last I checked, I did not do anything to you to warrant all of the energy that you are giving to me right now. And also, did I ask to be your friend? You forced yourself on me!”

“That’s where you’re wrong. It was just your savior complex that was used against you. You felt like you could save everyone around you without minding your business. I did not need your help then! I wanted London! I wanted him all to myself, but then you came in, and you had to spoil everything that I had worked for meticulously to that point!” She raised her voice a notch as she spoke.

And just like that, it started to click with me. The first time I met her was when I thought London was bullying her, and that was when he was bullying me too, so I thought we had been going through the same thing together and I attempted to help her. But then, I think I made a very big mistake. She was where she wanted to be.

“So, you…”

“Shut the fuck up! There is nothing left for you to say. You will have to pay for what you’ve done. I mean, I knew he was fixated with you when you came then, but then it started to turn into something else. He started to stare at you more than he should; he started to make advances toward you, and that was not supposed to be part of it. Then I walked to him one day and brought up one idea that I thought he would be happy to get, since he was making your life hell. I thought he would be very happy to hear that idea, but he was aloof. And that drives me crazy,” she actually looked crazy right now. And it was not even about how she looked or anything. It was more than that. She was actually moving weirdly. She bounced on her feet when she was standing at one point, and then walked all over the place. I don’t know why I can’t even walk away and grab the door that was like ten feet away from where I was standing. I mean, if she tries to come after me, I can always take her. But then, something kept me rooted to listen to what she was saying.

“He said to do whatever I wanted to do, and that was not the response that I wanted to get from him. Then you came along, and you made his attention slip away from me. Did you know what I had to do to have his attention on me?! But that’s over. You want to know why I’m coming after you as the scape goat mow? It’s because you're easier to get to than the other person that has him wrapped around her finger. And I can’t even take her on because she’s a freak. But I will in due time. Why? I’m one of them too. Just a little under the food chain.” She smiled widely without it reaching her eyes.

All of this time, the light was on, and I could see her eyes.

“So, that makes you my food to do whatever I want with.” She said, and in less than a second, she was on me.
