CHAPTER 40

I said with my new friends for a long time, We chatted and read and drank, we enjoyed each other's company. I didn't even realise the time until the prince came into the library, Clearly looking for me as he looked around frantically, The relief clear to see on his face as he spotted me on the table. But curiosity littering it once he saw my new friend.

Even though I hadn't realised the time, it was nice to see him. I had a miss him terribly. I always did when we were apart.

I jumped to my feet, and rushed him, and he accommodated me by picking me up and spinning me around, planting a soft kiss on my lips.

"I'm so glad you are here." I say with excitement. "I hate being away from you."

He needs his head, "I hate being away from you too." he turns to my friend "who is this?"

"Oh, that is my friend lucy, she is a new vampire too." i say with a wide smile. "we have spent the whole day together."

he walks over to her, and takes a her hand in his, kissing the back of it. "its a pleasure to meet you, Lucy. Thank you for keepimg her company for me whilst i was busy."

lucy looks confused, Not sure what to do with herself, Or what she wanted to to say. "thank you." she eventually gets out. "it was my pleasure, she's a great woman."

"and she doesn't let me forget it." he says with a wink before turning back to me. "should we go my little princess."

I nod my head, waving to Lucy. "do you want to meet here again tomorrow? We can talk some more."

She gives a smile that lights up her entire face, Her voice filled with excitement. "I would love that. My girlfriend has to work during the day."

"I know how that feels" I laugh, elbowing the Prince in the ribs.

He rubs rubs, faking being hurt. "yeah, yeah, Keep going on lady and you'll get a smack bottom." he jokes.

"see you tomorrow." I shout to Lucy as i jump in to Calen's arms, making him carry me from the room.

He had been away from me all day, the least he could do is carry me back to our room, so we could have some much-needed adult time together.

I woke up the next morning, really excited, knowing that I didn't have to spend the day alone as I had been for the past week, it was nice to finally have a friend. Even when I was human, I didn't exactly get along with anyone. I guess I couldn't really, Not when Sarah and I had to move all the time. When we had to leave at the drop of a hat and spur of the moment. I see now that I missed out on so much., and I had so much to catch up on.

But I'm sure that Lucy and I could help each other, we could give each other new ways to cope with this new life.

It would be nice to not be so alone all the time.

Yes, I had my family, The family that had accepted me Against all odds, didn't have to embrace me with open arms, but they did.

Calen got out of the shower and walked back into the bedroom, seeing that I was already dressing myself in some sweats, That I was ready for the day before he even was ready, something that was very rare, if not never seen.

I couldn't contain my excitement as I rsuhed towards him, Jumping into his arms, and wrapping my hands around his neck, "I'm going to see my friend today." I said with glee. "Can you believe that I have a friend?"

"Of course I can" he says softly, His voice is soothing as it always was. "You are the best woman that I know, why wouldn't you have friends?"

"she is my first friend." I reveal, wanting to be honest with him. Just as he is honest with me. "I have never had a chance to have friends before, This is a new to me."

"just be who you are." he tells me. "everything will be fine then, you are beautiful inside and out."

He kisses me passionately, his lips moulding to mine, and his tongue exploring my mouth with a new urgency, my hands explored his body is his explored mine. We could never get enough of each other. No matter how much we were together. We always wanted more.

We always wanted to be in each other's arms.

And I loved that about us.

I loved him.

He places me onto my feet, Giving me one last Kiss. "I have to go my sweet, but I can pick you up from the library?"

"yes you can, but don't be as late today, I'd like to watch our show this evening." I smile up at him.

I walk all the way to the library with a spring in my step, excited to see her and to see how her night has gone, I knew that her girlfriend would've taken care of her, all the vampires he was so kind, it was how they were created. The king and queen ensure that everyone was taken care of. They made sure that everyone had a job, that everyone could provide for their family.

That everyone was comfortable.

They even give out housing assignments, those with kids got more rooms, but everyone got something, and everyone was comfortable.

I got to the library early, so I sat down and started to read, completely lost in my book by the time, the door opened.

I looked up with a massive smile on my face, lucy standing there, just as happy.

"you came." she said, Clearly excited to see me here.

Just as I was excited to see her.

"I said that I would." I smile back. "come and read with me."

her Smile, widens, And she goes to pick out a book. "okay."

Today was going to be a good day.
