Chapter 111 Cornering a villain - Vincent
Chapter 111 Cornering a villain - Vincent
"What did you tell your father? Where were you going?" I know it's the lunch rush, and the restaurant was probably packed, but I needed Bella to go over what she found out with Jimmy.
"I told you to just employ me full time." She rolls her eyes and takes a seat next to Jimmy who has a few monitors in front of him.
She nudges him with her elbow, but he doesn't respond, as usual.
Jimmy would have made a killing in this game if he was able to communicate with people. He's autistic, and his parents were all too happy that I employed him, saying they feel better that he is making money and would maybe be able to take care of himself if they're no longer here. I don't know about that though, I think he's always going to need someone to take care of him. I told them I would make sure of it if anything were to happen to them.
"Oh my god." Bella pulls her face when she looks at the footage that Jimmy found after he hacked into Scott Anderson's personal computer. "What the fuck, Vince, this guy should go to jail."
Jimmy found footage of him with underage girls, likely a prostitution ring in New York, and combined with the footage that we have on the boat, is enough to make him back out of the deal for the land that I want. Pleasure Park is starting to look more and more like a reality.
"Don't we all have to go to jail?" I ask mockingly. "You, for one, have been hacking into people's computers since you were a kid. Do you know how many years that would be in a state prison?"
"I can't go to prison." Bella pulls her face. "I'm way too pretty, and what about my heels."
"I thought so."
"But this here looks like trafficking, Vincent, we can't turn a blind eye on that."
I sigh. This is why I like Jimmy. Jimmy doesn't talk, Jimmy doesn't ask questions. Jimmy just finds whatver I ask of him to find.
"I'm not trying to be a savior here, Bella, I just want the Andersons to back the fuck off the land that I want, and have some leverage." I straighten. "I told you, the mafia is dirty, but you wanted to play in the game. We gather information, that's it. We don't play FBI. Now, could you gather everything nice and tidy for me so I can present it to Mr. Anderson. I have a meeting with him in two hours."
I can see she wants to say something to that, but she purses her lips and starts working. I need her, though, she does what Jimmy can't, tell me in simple terms what I'm looking at. If I didn't respect her father, I would have paired up the two permanently. Maybe I should go talk to him, tell him that Bella working with the computers isn't really working for the mafia.
She's at my desk an hour later, sliding a flash drive over to me."Let me just tell you, I don't agree with this, Vince, I think it needs to be reported."
From a moral perspective, she's right. Men like Scott Anderson deserves to be behind bars, but we're not the moral police here. "You want to work for me, you better get off that high horse, Bella."
She flinches, but she knows who she's working for and she leaves my office without another word.
I meet Luciano in front of the Chicago Anderson offices, handing him the flash drive. He smirks, knowing that we're both going to make a lot of money once we secure that land and go into business.
The secretary shows us to the boardroom, Anderson already there with the associates of his family firm.
"DiCassio!" He says jovially, like we're old friends. "I was quite surprised when you called this meeting. What kind of business would you like to do with us?"
"Gentlemen, and lady." I nod as I take my seat. "My attorney will do the honors."
Anderson's face slips slightly, not knowing what the hell is in store for him.
"As you well know, DiCassio Holdings has been trying to secure land just outside the city." Luciano begins, opening up his briefcase and distributing files amongst the seven people in attendance. "It has come to our attention that the Anderson Group is also vying for that real estate property."
"Well." Anderson chuckles. "Isn't this something you should take up with the seller of the real estate then?"
"DiCassio Holdings would like the Anderson Group to drop their bid for the property." Luciano takes a seat next to me, looking on as the associates and Anderson go through the document given to each of them. "If not, the deal you made a month ago on that apartment complex in the documents, would be made public to every news station in this country. I wonder why the mayor received two-hundred-thousand-dollars in an off-shore account from this company."
"It's quite a small amount of money, don't you think?" I lift my eyebrows at Anderson who looks like he could jump over the table and strangle me.
Luciano slides the flash drive over the table to Anderson. "Just a little extra to help you make a decision."
I get up, careful not to look too smug. "I will be expecting to hear that my bid was successful very soon, Anderson, or the cops will be knocking on your door. And please take your drugs with you to New York when you so kindly leave."
He's red in the face when I smile at him, the sick fuck looking like he's going to burst an artery.
"You gonna give me the contact of your hacker?" Luciano asks me when we leave. "I could use someone like that."
"She's a little feisty." I chuckle.
"I can handle feisty."
"We'll see." I shake his hand before we go our sperate ways. "Great doing business, as always."
Hopefully my friend Scott Anderson knows now, that I'm not a man to fuck with. And maybe if I follow Bella's advice, that little flash drive might end up on Detective Jones's desk.
