Chapter 30
"Nancy, what brings you here?" Michael smoothly took the lunch box from my hands and naturally held my hand.
My eyes fell on the female subordinate behind him. I raised an eyebrow at him, deliberately teasing. "Michael, you're really heartless. Such a beautiful woman, and you treat her like that."
Hearing my words, Michael couldn't help but get nervous and hurried to explain. "Nancy, you should know I'm not that kind of person. This is just a misunderstanding."
I could feel the urgency in Michael's tone.
I had seen the whole thing clearly. I was just teasing him anyway, so naturally I believed him after hearing his explanation.
I laughed softly and raised an eyebrow at him again. "Of course, I have complete trust in you."
Despite saying that, I deliberately chatted a bit more with his male assistant right in front of him.
Michael didn't show any particular emotion at the time, but that evening, he had me pinned on the office couch.
"I think you're jealous." I reached my hand toward his chest muscles, deliberately teasing him.
I'd long known that Michael was especially petty about this sort of thing.
But I didn't expect him to remember what happened at lunch all the way until evening, without showing it all afternoon.
Michael pressed down on my hand, guiding it to explore lower.
"Nancy, my heart and my whole self belong only to you. What about you? Do you only love me?" Michael's voice was low and husky, deliberately speaking by my ear with a special kind of temptation.
I knew what he wanted to hear, but I got mischievous and continued teasing him. "Well, why don't you guess? Do I only love you?"
Seeing I wouldn't answer directly, Michael kissed my lips directly, dominantly moving around in my mouth.
Only when he'd taken all the air from my mouth did he reluctantly let me go.
Seeing me gasping for breath, he spoke again in that husky voice. "Nancy, say you love me. Say you only love me."
I cupped his face and spoke deeply and seriously. "Michael, I only love you, and I'll only ever love you."
After I declared my feelings, Michael still wasn't satisfied, keeping me circled on the couch, kissing me over and over.
And I deliberately teased him, and while we were tangled up, I accidentally pulled off two buttons from his shirt.
"Nancy, I love you." Michael held me in his arms, his deep, sexy voice sounding by my ear.
Feeling his burning embrace, I responded too. "I know. I've always known."
I'd known since my last life.
In his arms, I felt especially safe.
He held me very tight. I could even hear his heartbeat.
When I woke up again, it was Michael gently and tenderly waking me.
Only then did I realize I'd fallen asleep leaning on Michael, and he'd been carefully holding me the whole way, maintaining that position, unwilling to put me down.
Seeing him rotate his arm, I felt a bit embarrassed.
"Are you okay? Let me massage it for you." As I spoke, I reached out and rubbed his shoulder.
Michael still looked at me with those affectionate eyes and said with a smile, "It's nothing. I just like holding you like this."
Hearing his words, I felt even more embarrassed.
My wedding date with Michael was getting closer, and he was becoming more and more clingy.
Whenever he had nothing on his hands, he'd come pick me up for dates.
This day after work was no different.
Michael drove to pick me up and take me on a date.
He parked the car at the entrance of the Smith Group and even brought a bouquet of roses.
When he saw me, he walked toward me with the flowers without any hesitation. "Nancy, let's go. I'll take you to dinner."
After we finished dinner and came out, he suddenly put his arm around my shoulder and pulled me tightly into his embrace.
I was a bit surprised by his action, but ultimately didn't refuse.
Seeing my confusion, he deliberately leaned close to my ear and whispered a reminder. "John is nearby. He's been secretly following you."
I instantly became alert, while also being amazed at John's shamelessness.
I hadn't expected that even after I repeatedly rejected him, he still wouldn't give up, even going so far as to secretly follow me.
Thinking about this made me feel sick.
I said coldly, very dissatisfied. "He's really shameless. I'm going to teach him a lesson today."
As I spoke, I wanted to go confront John.
But just then, Michael held me back and gently reminded me. "To teach him a lesson, we can't do it in public like this. Nancy, do you trust me?"
I secretly glanced with the corner of my eye at John hiding behind us, then nodded firmly. "Of course."
Getting my definite answer, Michael spoke again. "If you trust me, come with me."
With that, Michael interlaced his fingers with mine and led me toward where there were more people.
Though I was puzzled by his actions, I obediently followed by his side while staying alert to John.
Michael took me to a mall.
I didn't know if he was deliberately putting on a show for John or if it was genuine, but in just that short walk, he kept kissing and hugging me.
Completely disregarding that we were in public.
In the end, I was so embarrassed that I refused his intimacy.
Seeing the groundwork was about done, Michael led me toward the emergency exit.
John, in the distance, saw that we were about to leave and anxiously followed.
Michael led me into a dead-end alley with no surveillance cameras.
Only then did I understand what he was going to do.
We hid together in the dead-end alley, waiting for John to walk right into the trap.
Sure enough, the anxious John caught up before long.
Seeing us suddenly disappear, he cursed under his breath.
After confirming John had walked into the dead-end alley, Michael took my hand and appeared, blocking him in.
Seeing us appear again, John finally realized he'd fallen into a trap, but it was already too late.
Before I could speak, Michael stepped forward, grabbed his collar, and stared at him coldly. "John, I warned you before to stop harassing Nancy. What do you think you're doing?"
John didn't care. He shook off Michael's hand and said matter-of-factly, "What? You two can come to this place, but I can't?"
John indeed hadn't made any substantial harassing moves toward me right now. Even though we'd caught him red-handed, we couldn't really charge him with anything.
Seeing this, Michael pulled me into his arms in a protective stance and warned him. "From today on, if I catch you harassing Nancy again or doing this kind of stalking, I won't mind breaking your legs so you won't have the chance."
When saying this, Michael's tone was casual, but the threat in it was chilling.
John clearly hadn't expected Michael to say such things. He was shocked for a moment, but still wouldn't give up on me. "Nancy, he must be forcing you, right? He's a demon. During the time without you, I've thought everything through. Come with me. I'll definitely treat you well."
Hearing John declare his feelings for me, I couldn't help but feel disgusted and deliberately pretended to gag a few times. "I just finished eating with Michael. Don't say such disgusting things and make me throw up."
After that, I wouldn't even look at him properly.
Feeling my attitude, John's eyes showed disappointment, but he refused to look away from me.
Seeing him like this, Michael continued warning him. "If you don't get lost now, I'm not sure what impulsive thing I'll do next."
Seeing Michael like this, John finally got a bit scared, but he stubbornly stood in place without making another move.
Seeing this, Michael showed no mercy and directly threw a punch, as a small warning. "If you want to die here today, you can choose not to move."
Seeing Michael hit John, I felt satisfied.
John instinctively looked at me, as if wanting to see some concern in my eyes.
Unfortunately, I didn't look at him at all and didn't take him seriously at all.
Seeing my resolute attitude, John's heart felt like it was being stabbed. "Nancy, are you really going to be this heartless? Have you forgotten about our past?"
John's tone was dejected, even lowering his posture to the lowest.
He probably thought this approach could win me back.
Too bad he was wrong.
Michael immediately threw several punches.
