Chapter 46 - The Tycoon Alpha's Temptation
ROSE’S POV
“Fiona, kindly divide the group by pairing in groups of two.”
I informed and Fiona nodded. I could feel their excitement as we planned on winning and making a change as a group.
“Jared, please contact me. This is my contact details.” I called out my details even though I have not had enough time to get used to the cell phone I received yesterday.
“We need to fix a day and time that would be conducive for everyone and that will give us the chance to be alone in the field. We can make use of another location if there's any.”
I added.
“We will work on that and contact you after.” Jared remarked. “Thank you for choosing to help us.”
“Hold up.” I uttered. “You all have to understand that I am not saying I would solve all your problems. All I am saying is that I will be there to guide you. I also have a lot to learn. Let’s hope we can help each other during these times.”
The warriors nodded and clapped, cheering. The atmosphere among us changed into a more releasing and friendly one and we started to discuss softly. I got to know some of their names and we decided to do our bests.
I was getting intrigued by the conversation I was having with the warriors that have finally accepted me but Cali exclaimed all of a sudden, “Where is he, Rose!”
Instantly, my gaze shifted to the last spot where I saw Alpha King Josh and Adam before the warriors diverted my attention. Alas! He was no longer there. I started looking around the field to find him but I couldn't find him around despite turning around frantically.
Cali informed anxiously, “His scent is also fading, Rose. He has left the field and we didn't see him go. F*ck!”
I couldn't stop myself from whimpering. I assumed I have lost Alpha king josh because I was being too uptight after I practically rode him in the dark some weeks ago. I felt sad as I wondered how beautiful the woman he was going to meet must be for him to desert me.
To think that I wouldn't know what to do even if I had successfully trailed him to the woman. Of course, he wasn't bringing her home which must be out of respect or pity for me.
So much for the chemistry between us.
“Hey… hey, are you alright?”
Fiona’s voice found me in the midst of my breaking point. To make matters worse, the warriors began to move in numbers, eradicating Alpha King Josh’s scent completely. The warriors were leaving the training ground after a challenging training session. All I could perceive was their sweaty bodies…
Not Alpha King Josh or that sneaky Beta Adam.
Fiona touched my shoulder, “Say something, Rose. you are panicking and–”
“The Alpha King.”
I breathed pitifully. Fiona and the rest have obviously noticed the relationship between Alpha King Josh and me but no one has said anything about it.
“Nora will be so pissed if she sees you hyperventilating just because the Alpha King left you behind on the training ground. I can’t wait for her to realize that she will never be the Luna Queen of the Northern Territory.”
Fiona chuckled, bringing Nora into the conversation.
Of course, I knew Nora was trying to get Alpha King Josh but now that Fiona mentioned Nora, I couldn't stop myself from considering the possibility of her being Alpha King Josh’s favorite woman.
Cali snorted with disgust, “That’s impossible, Rose. Nora is still on the field.” My wolf beast pointed that out and truly, I found Nora chatting with her group of females.
“Have you seen him anywhere, Fiona? I really have to find him.”
I voiced to Fiona who was still happy that I was taking the Alpha King From Nora– he was never hers to begin with.
Fiona responded, “You are lucky I happen to be a tracker werewolf, Rose. my nose is super sensitive than most Werewolves so come with me. Let’s find the Alpha King for our soon-to-be Luna Queen.”
Due to my excitement, I didn't correct Fiona's assumptions. I simply followed her, hoping that she would catch a whiff of Alpha King Josh.
I wouldn't have been so worried if I haven't overheard Josh telling Adam that they would be heading to the meeting as soon as he leaves the training ground.
Still, I didn't understand why Beta Adam has to follow him to meet the woman. Plus why would Alpha King Josh let another woman close to him when he is a sweaty mess? That should be reserved for me.
Just me alone.
“You are so in love with him, Rose. Why did it have to be like this for you to realize that?” Cali pointed out the truth about my feelings and I didn't have enough energy to argue with her.
“There is nothing to argue about. Iots the truth, Rose. you have been calling it chemistry while your heart grew fonder of him.”
My wolf beast called me out on my bullshit. I bit my lips and let myself feel the weight of the truth crushing my body.
I was in love with Alpha King Josh…
But why would I fall in love with him so fast?
He was a charming man with skills in bed and also in other aspects of life that are more important– what’s wrong with me!
I frown when I realized that I didn't have a logical reason for becoming attached to Alpha King Josh– except the sex.
That was outrageous but it remained the truth.
“You don’t need a reason to love, Rose. I remember telling you that I feel a strong connection with Alpha King Josh and it’s still possible that he is our destined mate.”
Cali explained to me and quickly added, “The unbroken alliance between you and Alpha Richard must be the reason we can’t sense the mate bond.”
“I want to feel the mate bond, Cali. I want to feel it all at once.” I whimpered to my wolf beast and she consoled me through the mindlink.
I was being pathetic and clingy as f*ck but there was no way I would let go of this feeling. Loving someone was a beautiful thing and Alpha King Josh happened to be my beautiful thing.
“Oh, his scent has gotten stronger now, Rose. we are close to him.”
Fiona announced, inhaling deeply as she led me into the familiar local market that I once roamed mindlessly.
Fiona etched, “He is very close, Rose but I can’t see him. I might have a good nose but my sight is nothing to write home about.”
“You have done your best for me, Fiona. Thank you. I will search for him in the stores. Maybe he will be within one of them.”
I appreciated Fiona and she nodded but suddenly shook her head as she took in another whiff of air.
Fiona voiced, “Don’t go into the stores, Rose. He isn't in any of them. Just keep going straight. You will find him at the end of the path… he is close to a fresh body of water and I can’t go any further.”
She seemed terrified when she mentioned the fresh body of water but that rang in bell in my head.
Cali and I said to each other at the same time, “The lake!”
As it drew on me, my mouth became heavy and I couldn't thank Fiona properly as I raged over the fact that Alpha King Josh was with another woman besides my lake… yes, that was my lake.
He better not be by the lakeside.
He better not be with any woman at all or he would get to see the wildness of his Rose.
I was his. He had claimed me and I will remain his Rose even if I had to fight his favorite woman and dunk her in the lake.
Quickly, I kept walking on the path that led me away from the market and into the familiar forest that Cali and I have marked that night.
And the moment I was close enough, I began to hear voices… hushed voices that could make sparks fly between a man and his secret lover.
Curiously, I masked my scent and tiptoed closer to have a glimpse of my competition. However, the unexpected happened and my hate for Beta Adam skyrocketed.
