Chapter 34 A song of confession
ANGELICA'S POV
I stood there, looking between Dylan's glare and Tyler's surprised expression as he looked at me like I had sinned.
My mind was getting into a mess thinking about everything.
Alen clearly heard what Dylan said, and he would definitely spread the word in the company. This was the last thing I wanted to happen, especially since I didn't know if the Martino brothers were serious about their pursuit. Not to mention, what if they decide to leave me later?
I'll just end up as the laughingstock for the second time.
Though my friends were with me to support me, it didn't mean I didn't hear some good mocking words about how Tyler left me for another woman.
The fear that I'll have to go through that ordeal again…
I gulped and looked at Dylan with tearful eyes.
The least he could do was ask for my permission before deciding something himself.
I know he was impulsive. I have noticed that much over the last few days, but still…
“Angel, is that true? You have already moved on? Was all your love for me just for show and talk?” Tyler asked, and I looked down at my feet.
I could've said the same thing for him, but I didn't want to air my dirty laundry before everyone and let them know I was betrayed and cheated on.
Besides, what he said was true. I was indeed moving on and falling for the Martino brothers. Should I be ashamed of it?
“Never,” Dylan suddenly said, making me snap my head to him.
He looked at me intensely for a second before shifting his gaze to Tyler.
“This is the second time I have caught you trying to manhandle my future wife, and let me tell you, Mr, I am not a man of patience. Next time I catch you holding her hand without her will, I'll ensure your hand doesn't stay attached to your body,” Dylan said, his words making my heart thump inside my chest.
Dylan stayed in his place, but something about his aura was so intimidating that Tyler immediately looked at me.
“Future wife?” He asked.
“Yes, future wife,” Ericson's voice came behind me, and I nearly shivered when his fingertips touched my exposed waist.
“I didn't know it was so easy. I wouldn't have felt so guilty about betraying you if I had known. Then again, it looks like you never loved me or wouldn't have moved on so quickly. Or was it the money you were after?” Tyler scoffed.
I looked at his friends, who were approaching us, and heard him.
Neel looked at me disappointingly, and I rolled my eyes.
Yes. The fault was with me. Not with their cheating friend. Talk about double standards.
“Last time I checked, I was talking about engagement with you. I was ready to say yes to your proposal. It was you who betrayed and cheated on me. But that was the last time a man fooled me. So thank you for the lesson,” I told Tyler, letting him see the pain in my eyes.
I could see a flicker of emotions in his eyes.
Was it regret? Grief?
“Angelica, I didn't –” He started, but I held Dylan's hand and intertwined our fingers.
“Let's go. I don't want to stay here anymore,” I said to Dylan and Ericson.
The man looked at me briefly before pulling me aside.
“Mi Vida,” Ericson, following us, called me to catch my attention. I leaned on the pillar for a while before finally looking up.
“Don't think about someone who couldn't understand the value of your love. Just trust us on this one. We will never betray you. I would rather choose death than betray you,” Ericson said, the raw emotions in his eyes catching me off-guard.
“I… I think I need time,” I whispered and started to walk away, but before I could walk out of the hall, I heard someone playing a guitar and turned around briefly, only to have my gaze landed on Dylan, who was playing the guitar.
“Please stay,” He said on the microphone.
My heart skipped a beat when he started singing.
‘I know we met a little late,
Your heart closed its gates,
But oh, beautiful sweetheart, what can I do to get inside?
My heart is maddening thinking about how to appease you.
All I know is that I want you, and you console my soul.
When I look at you, all my demons calm down
My heart is grateful to you, but my soul wants you
My demons call for you, give me a chance,
I swear I'll make it worthwhile.
Just once, just once, just once….’
Dylan took a deep breath when Ericson walked on stage holding the mic.
‘I think about you day and night; how much more can I love you?
Is my confession not enough?
Rainy seasons, I want to drench in your love,
I was living well without you, but after meeting you, everything seemed impossible.
What is this sickness, I don't know,
All I know is that you are the cure,
So just give me a chance, just once…’
Ericson ended.
The entire restaurant applauded the masked man, singing their hearts out. For them, it was nothing more than them singing their hearts out, but I could feel their every word coursing through my veins for some reason.
“I have never seen our bosses try to do something for someone with such efforts. They really like you,”
Someone said from behind me, and I looked at Zishan.
“I don't know. I am scared, Zishan,” I confessed.
Zishan smiled at me.
“They are too. They are scared of losing you and not being able to show you how much you mean to them. I am their secretary at all outdoor missions, and I know how much they worry about you. Since the day they met you, they have done everything in their power to spend as much time with you as they can, even canceling meetings,” Zishan said, surprising me.
No wonder they always appeared so free despite their big name, spending so much time with me at their apartment.
Were they doing all this for me?
“They don't know how to love. This is new for them. You are the first woman in my sixteen years of life with them who has caught their attention,” Zishan said.
I looked at him briefly before looking at the two men who were walking down the stage.
I sighed.
“How can both of them like me with such intensity?” I thought out loud, and Zishan smiled.
“They are twins, Miss Angelica. They feel each other's pain and pleasure. It would only make sense to them to have one mate,” Zishan answered.
“Mate?” I asked.
I saw Zishan’s pupils dilate before he coughed.
“I mean, one mate, one woman, one love. I have been spending so much time with these hooligans that their language is rubbing off on me,” Zishan explained before chuckling, and I hummed.
I was about to ask him more when I saw him leaving towards Alen, who was looking at me with a smile.
I smiled back awkwardly, turning around, only to gasp when I saw Dylan right in my face.
“Even if we are just rebounds for your love, we are ready to be one until you are ready to love us,” Dylan said.
He held my hand and pulled me closer.
I looked into his deep blue eyes, which looked like they were piercing my soul, before sighing.
“I hope it won't affect our professional life,” I whispered.
Dylan hummed and nodded his head before pausing.
“Did you just agree to be with us?” Dylan asked, looking at me with raised, surprised eyes.
I licked my bottom lip before pushing him off slightly and looking at Ericson.
“Did I?” I asked with a mischievous smile before walking to the dining table at some distance where the company members were seated.
“Hey,” I said and greeted everyone one by one.
It looked like Alen didn't tell anyone anything, and I was glad for that because I didn't want any kind of off or special treatment.
I saw Dylan and Ericson coming to the table after some time, their gazes back to their stoic selves, and a blush crept up my neck as I started noticing every small thing about them.
The way their tattooed hands lifted the alcohol glass and took a sip, not moving their gazes from me, holding me in place and making me conscious, I felt everything.
Crossing my legs, I clenched them, not wanting to feel any desirable emotions.
However, was it possible when they were looking at me with such an alluring gaze?
I was seriously a gone case now.
Now that I agreed to be with them, I didn't know what the future held.
I could only hope for a less eventful ride ahead.
