Chapter 563 Who Cares About Your Lousy Album
Chapter 563 Who Cares About Your Lousy Album
Zachary walked up and patted Jeremy on the shoulder. "Jeremy, you finally made it back. If you took any longer, we might've forgotten you were part of this family."
Seeing Jeremy, Frank's face, which had been full of smiles, instantly darkened.
"You still know how to come back!" he snapped. "It took three reminders to get you to attend your sister's wedding. You really think you're something now, huh? Not caring about your family anymore?"
"No, that's not it," Jeremy replied, looking down.
In truth, Jeremy had been thinking a lot lately, debating whether to accept Nancy as his sister. But after getting to know her better, he realized his previous thoughts were too narrow-minded.
Initially, because Angelina liked Edward, he assumed Nancy was a vain woman trying to use her looks to climb the social ladder. But the more he got to know her, the more he saw she was actually very independent. Though she wasn't as affectionate as Angelina, she was easy to get along with. The main reason he hesitated to come back was because he felt awkward.
Ultimately, he decided to return because he knew that if he didn't, the distance between him and his family would only grow.
"Glad you're back," George quickly interjected to ease the tension. "Jeremy's been really busy. It's good he could make it."
Royce scoffed. "Busy, my foot. Everyone in the family took turns convincing him to come back, and the first thing he does is go see Angelina. I don't know what kind of spell she's cast on him to make him care so much."
The prison had already been notified that anyone visiting Angelina would be reported. Today, someone informed Royce that Jeremy had gone to see her, and it had bothered him all day.
Hearing Angelina's name, the Forbes family members all changed their expressions and looked at Nancy, worried she might be upset.
Jeremy remained silent. He had indeed visited Angelina today and told her about Nancy and Edward's upcoming wedding. Angelina nearly lost it, crying and begging to be let out, even cursing Nancy.
He knew Angelina was beyond saving.
Frank glared at him. "You still dare to see her? Do you even know what you're doing?"
Seeing the tension rise, Nancy quickly grabbed Frank's arm. "Dad, Jeremy is loyal and caring. It shows you raised him well. You don't need to worry about this; I don't mind you all interacting with Angelina."
Nancy felt she was the happiest person in the world now, so she didn't care about Angelina's existence. If Royce hadn't mentioned her, she would have forgotten about her entirely.
Angelina posed no threat to her before, and now they were worlds apart.
Frank patted her hand affectionately. "You're my sweet daughter, unlike these sons who only make me angry. Enough talk, come on, let me show you your wedding gift."
"Dad, you already gave me 30% of the shares. That's more than enough..."
"That's not enough. My daughter has to have a grand wedding. Come on, take a look." Frank pulled Nancy to his study and handed her a gift box.
When she opened it, there was a thick stack of property deeds, three car keys, and several stock and company transfer contracts.
"This... this is too much, Dad. I can't accept it," Nancy said, stunned. Frank had five children, and she was getting so much. Her brothers and sisters-in-law would surely be envious.
"It's not too much at all," Frank said with a smile. "You're the most precious daughter of the Forbes family. You've had a tough twenty years, and we've never done anything for you. These wedding gifts are not only compensation but also our love for you. Remember, no matter what happens, the Forbes family will always be your strong support."
Nancy's eyes welled up with tears. She looked at everyone standing around, all smiling with love in their eyes, none of them unhappy with Frank's actions.
Susan then walked over and handed her another gift box. "Nancy, this is from George and me. We wish you and Edward all the best and a lifetime of happiness."
"Thank you, George, Susan." Nancy accepted the box, which contained a dazzling set of diamond jewelry.
Next, Elsie handed her a gift. "Nancy, congratulations! You've finally made it through the tough times. Your days will only get sweeter from now on."
"Thank you, Elsie, thank you, Royce." They had given her a new Luna design, a clover and horseshoe pendant symbolizing double luck.
Nancy felt like crying but held back, not wanting to spoil the moment.
Zachary handed her his gift with a mysterious smile. "Nancy, this is my wedding gift to you. It's my limited edition album with my autograph. It's very valuable, so make sure to keep it safe."
Nancy couldn't help but laugh at his words.
Frank couldn't resist knocking him on the head. "Who cares about your album? How can you give such a cheap gift? I'm embarrassed for you."
Zachary jumped aside, holding his head. "Dad, you should check online. My album is selling for a high price, and it has my autograph. If Nancy ever faces hard times, she can sell it for emergency money."
Frank kicked him again. "Can't you wish Nancy well? And the Forbes family's daughter would never need to sell your album to get by. If you keep talking nonsense, I'll make you live on your own!"
Zachary panicked. "No, no, Dad, I'm sorry. Okay, I'll come clean. There's actually a check for a million dollars inside. Giving cash is more practical than flashy gifts, right, Nancy?"
Nancy opened the album and saw the check. Frank finally let him off the hook.
"Thank you, Zachary," she said, trying not to laugh.
Zachary's gift was practical, but he didn't say so directly, getting scolded by Frank first. Who knew why he did that?
Maybe Zachary had a thing for being scolded?
But his antics successfully lightened the mood, and everyone started chatting and laughing, discussing the wedding.
Jeremy, who had been silent, walked up to Nancy and handed her something.
Nancy was surprised and then looked at it. It was a beautiful blue-purple butterfly specimen.
"This is a Diana Blue Flash butterfly specimen. Happy wedding."
"Thank you, Jeremy. I love it." Since Jeremy wanted to mend their relationship, she was happy to accept.
But Zachary wasn't pleased. "Dad, why don't you call Jeremy's gift cheap? You only pick on me."
Frank glared at him. "Didn't you hear Nancy say she likes it?"
Zachary sulked and sat aside.
