CHAPTER 74

"I agree with Abby Rafael."Andrea chirped in."If I was you I wouldn't waste a second standing here."He did just that."Shame on you two."Andrea said when they were gone."For how long will you keep Rafael on his toes,he's smitten with Sofia and she's too if you don't want to lose her I would suggest you leave her husband alone."

"Andrea is right,if you keep on intimidating him he'll end up running away and I'm sure you wouldn't want that for her.She loves him he makes her happy and that's all that is important,I think he knows by now what will happen the day he messes up."

"And I think I cannot wait to teach you a lesson for interfering."Alejandro pulled her up against him and began nuzzling her ear.

"Alejandro.Stop that.In case you haven't notice we not alone."She was already flushed from his few kisses her knees weaken.

"I think it's time for us to leave mi amor."Abby heard Arturo tell Andrea."And have a little fun of our own."

"I couldn't agree more."Andrea agreed.

The second they were gone he swooped down and captured her mouth in a sweet delicious kiss,Abby was lost her insides were mushy,every part of her was melting against him.Hand firmly on her butt he squeezed them into him she moaned when she felt his erection against her own sex.Abby heard someone clear their throat and found Mariana standing before her, embarrassed she quickly stepped out of his arms her cheeks must be beet red.

"I hope I'm not interrupting anything?"She said.

"Of..of course not."Abby replied.

"Actually mother was."Alejandro said,and put his arm around her shoulders.

"Alejandro!"Abby softly hissed.

"It's okay Abigail I'm not even gonna listen to him,he can't scare me off.I came to ask if you've enjoyed the wedding."

"Very much."Abby answered honestly.

"You and I should start making preparations for your and Alejandro's wedding."

"Now.So soon."

"There's no need to wait,the entire family is asking questions about how,when and where you got married.The sooner we have yours the better if it was up to me we would have it tomorrow but that won't be possible because Sofia won't be here and we'll need a little more time to arrange everything,but three to four weeks is enough time to get everything ready.Besides you'll start to show soon better it happens before then."

"Mother Abigail cannot stress and take on more work at the moment she's pregnant mother heard what the doctor said.And we don't need to answer or justify ourselves to anyone about our wedding and how it took place."

"Alejandro you won't disrespect your elders I won't stand for that,your wedding will take place here within four weeks that's my final word.This is our tradition Arturo also got married here with Andrea just because you don't live here anymore doesn't mean you'll forget where you coming from.In these four weeks I'll teach Abigail all I can we won't leave Spain until after the wedding I hope I made myself clear."She came forward and gave them each a hug and a kiss."Goodnight,get some rest we'll talk tomorrow."

Abby glanced at Alejandro his lips thinning in an angry line,she wonders what could possible be wrong didn't he want to marry her in front of his family. 'What if I want a divorce...will you believe me then..?'Had he been serious when he'd told her that."Alejandro."His eyes met hers.

"It's late let's go to bed."Neither of them said anything as they made their way to the room,Abby has questions,questions she was afraid to browse out loud. That night when they made love it was different,felt different and when he softly whispered I love you in spanish Abby knew this was goodbye,silent tears slid down her cheeks when he climbed out of bed to leave her alone.She didn't stop him neither did she try to reach for him it will only ache further cause this big gap to grew bigger.Where did it go wrong she thought they were happy,everything was fine then why.What happened?He didn't sleep next to her and neither was he there when she woke the following morning,but she won't lose hope he loves her and that's what matters to her the most.His love. Ally was all too happy about their extended stay and left Abby alone again to go and have fun with her cousins,Mariana taught her spanish tradition just as she'd promised Abby tried her best to stay focused and listen,her mind was on Alejandro and where he was and with whom he is.She was missing him.

And the day hasn't even passed yet thankfully Andrea will stay with her throughout this time but Arturo will go back to San Francisco tomorrow.Abby has to call her mother and tell her the news but she was too late."I spoke to Mariana this morning honey,she told me everything.I promise we'll come three days before your big day."

"Okay mom.I love you."

"Me too.Kiss Ally for me I have to go now Abby."She cut the call before Abby could say anything.She called Alejandro but his phone kept on ringing after the third time she gave up and threw her phone on the bed.Walking over to the balcony she gazed out and the beautiful land before her soon she'll be getting married here that is if there'll be a wedding.Somehow she feels as if it's the end,she has lost him and the reality of it doesn't want to sink in,a part of her refuses to accept it especially now that he's told her how he feels.She shouldn't lose hope,give up or think the worst he hasn't told her it's over or that there won't be a wedding he could've called off everything told his mother it's over but he hasn't and that's a sign.She'll stay here and wait for him no matter what their love brought them back together she won't give up on it and him.

The days flew by so fast that Abby hardly felt any of them,but that happens when one plans a wedding,Alejandro's family was so friendly and kind they've been nothing but good to her making her feel like one of them,Sofia and Rafael are coming back tomorrow from a two week long honeymoon and her mother along with Jack and Eric are arriving next week.She's invited Amanda she'll arrive a day before the wedding,Abby was all excited for her big day today she has done the last fitting of her dress and it was great,but instead of wearing black she had chosen a red dress Mariana had said it was fine,she still hasn't heard a word from Alejandro he hasn't responded to her hundred calls and text when she'd called Arturo to ask where he was,he didn't know it's been days since they last spoke or seen each other.

Abby was getting a bad feeling her intuition was telling her something was gonna happen in the next coming days only she doesn't know what,she prays Alejandro was alright where ever he was.That night in bed she tried calling him again the phone got answered on the second ring,immediately her breath caught and she hasn't even heard his voice yet,he knows how to make her heart stop and flutter."Alejandro..?" The line was quiet."Are you there."She asked.

"He's not here."A female voice said on the other end,every bone in Abby's body turned numb."Can I take a message."

No,it isn't true.He cannot possible be with another woman not while she was here planning their wedding,he won't do that unto her.He can't!."No."She said and dropped the call,he was having an affair.No,the other part of her said.He was never yours,he told you over and over again you'll have nothing more than this lust..He warned you Abby she told herself but you refuse to believe him,you knew this was coming."No!"She fiercely denied."It can't be true,he won't do this me."Her hands slid to her abdomen,he can't do this to her she was carrying their babies.Can't he?He can if he's done with you,men like him cannot be tied down by a ring or children he is who he is,he can't stay with one woman for long.He loves me Abby thought.Doesn't he?

"Why did you let me answer?"Marissa asked him."You do know she'll think you having an affair."

"Aren't we?"He joked.

"Alejandro this isn't a joke.She loves you,she's the first woman I've actually seen that gives a damn about you,don't do this."

Alejandro gazed at his long time friend and partner he's never told anyone but Marissa is a shareholder in Alvarez jewelers&Co she was a silent partner.His family know they've been friends since childhood along with Catalina she's the only woman that has never looked at him with those eyes that most women do even when Abby had left him Marissa had been there through it all she was a good loyal friend who listens when he needs an ear."I have to."He said sipping his drink.
