CHAPTER 68

"He's a lucky man to have a woman like yourself."He stood up."I think it's time for me to go.Take care of yourself Abby."

"It's on the house."She quickly said when he was about to pay.

"I cannot take advantage of your hospitality."

"You not.Now go I have work to do."She went over to give him a hug."It will be okay."He nodded and left.Abby's heart went out to him she's never seen Blake so down and troubled things must be really bad at his firm,he looks like he hasn't slept in days.

"Everything okay."Amanda asked from behind her."He looks like hell."

"I know.Things aren't going so good at the company,he thinks Alejandro is deliberately trying to sabotage his business."

"What?!"Amanda asked."Do you believe him."

"I don't know.He claims everything began after he kissed me the other day but I spoke to Alejandro and he promised me he wouldn't do anything to him I guess it won't hurt to ask Blake's a friend and I hate seeing him this way."

"Tread carefully you don't want Alejandro getting the wrong idea.He is very possessive when it comes to you I've seen it,he doesn't like it when other men stare at you I'm sure if it was up to him he would lock you up in his castle where no one will find you.I wish I had a man who could look at me the way your hubby does,who'd protect me with his life,a man who was ready to go to battle and die for me."

Abby smiled at her friend."Now you exaggerating."

"I'm only saying what I've seen honey.Let me get back to work."

"Go before I hire another manager."

Amanda laughed and said over her shoulder."She'll be fired before getting hired."Abby shook her head and laughed,Amanda was a good friend she won't trade her for anything,their working relationship was great too and Abby wouldn't have it any other way.Hopefully she can also find someone trustworthy and reliable as her.

Her mother called her later that night when she was getting ready for dinner. "Mom?Is everything alright."

"Yes.Why wouldn't it be,you leaving early tomorrow so I won't get a chance to speak to you.Jack and I left this afternoon,where we going the reception isn't so good that's why I took this moment to call you."

"I'm gonna miss you mom,so is Ally?"

"Me too.Is she in bed."

"Yes."

"I wanted to say goodnight but it's okay.You not leaving for good.Enjoy the wedding and send my regards to your in laws."

"I will.Thank you mom.I love you enjoy the vacation."

"I intend to.Take care of my grandchildren and yourself.I love you.Bye."

"See you soon."Abby was thankful that dinner went smoothly Mr Alvarez had been very kind and polite towards her,she still wonders what he and Alejandro spoke about but that's something she'll never know unless he tells her but Abby knows he won't.

"Abigail,I think it's time you stop calling me Mr Alvarez you are my daughter now."Abby only nodded at the request and continued to eat her food.

"So are you prepared for the twins."Arturo asked.

"Can't say that I am but I have eight and a half months to prepare myself."

"The rest of the family will be so happy about the news,this is the first set of twins in our family."Mariana beamed.

"Our son didn't waste any time I hope he knows the trouble that comes with raising boys,they very mischievous."Vicente said.

"Not me and Alejandro we were the best sons mother and father could've asked for."

"Especially you and your brother."Vicente said."Your mother always had to run after you if we couldn't find you we knew you were up to no good.Only when Sofia was born did they quiet down the idea of being big brothers had too much appeal they did everything for her,even helped Mariana when Sofia was still young.They love their little sister their worlds revolved around her as she got older they became very over protective she wasn't allowed to have boyfriends or male friends."

"That was more of Alejandro than me."Arturo said.

"You too."His father said."I'm surprised she's getting married at all."

"She'll always be our little sister no matter what."

"Family is very important you and Alejandro should take very good care of your families but your brother knows that already just like his wife he also gave me a piece of his mind."He looked at Abby.

"I'm sorry if...."

"Don't apologise dear you entitled to your own opinion,I never thought my son would love anyone the way he loves you.The business at one point meant everything to him all that changed when he met you he became a different man."

"Love does that Vicente."Mariana touched her husband's hand."Our boys found their life partners and I'm happy that they chose well."

"So am I my wife if I can die tomorrow I'll die a happy man."

"Don't talk of death father."Arturo said.

"Everyone dies son.I'm off to bed tomorrow we have a long journey.Abby you'll finally meet the rest of the Alvarez family be ready child."

I'll try to be Abby thought as she walked up the steps a few minutes later Andrea had told her they have a huge family Mr Vicente's whole family lives in Spain so does Mariana's.She hopes she'll have the strength to face everyone tomorrow when they land if only Alejandro could've been there for support.

They arrived midday in Barcelona and took two separate cars over to the house but Abby soon realise it was a hacienda a traditional spanish house or should she say haciendas that was build on a ten acre land that overlooks the ocean.Both houses looked exactly alike with their glass French doors and windows that pair well with the castle-like stone wall front,the ample use of greenery is a nice counterbalance for the earthy tones and straight lines.The tropical landscaping was beautiful and blended in perfectly with the haciendas,stone wall walk way leads up to massive big oak doors that lead into the house.Abby was shocked by how big the place was the foyer alone was the size of their private dining room,the interior was white with an arched entry way over wooden flooring.A woman looking to be in her sixties has answered the door and was now leading them into the living room,the ceiling was striped by exposed wooden beams that support a dark iron chandelier there was a patterned area rug where two bluish sofas were across a fireplace. Everything looked beautiful and expensive the decor and furniture were mixed spanish tradition here with a touch of modern there.

"Welcome home,señor and señora."Abby heard the woman say in spanish. "Please take a seat while I get refreshments and call the rest of the family."

"Gracias Francesca."The place was quiet probably because it was so massive Andrea and Arturo hasn't arrived yet Ally was with them Manual had driven Abby along with Mariana and Vicente over to the house."Abby dear you look tired."

She was a little the flight had taken her last energy take that and add three days of not sleeping properly without Alejandro she was drained but she won't let that ruin her chances of exploring this beautiful place and meeting Alejandro's family."I am a little but I'll be okay."

"You can go upstairs and rest dear you can meet the family later."Vicente said.

"Vicente is right."Mariana agreed."You are pregnant and need plenty of rest especially for the babies and I'm sure Alejandro wouldn't be too happy if he can find you looking the way you are now."Francesca came back in holding a tray with drinks,she placed it on the wooden coffee table in the center. "Francesca can you please show Abigail up to Alejandro's room,she'd like to lie down after the long flight."
