Chapter 85─Myrtle becomes paranoid and Mishka gets a shock

“It’s a risky thing to do to someone as well-known and important as him. We will be prosecuted and I can find myself trapped in some way, whether I’m in cat or human form,” Ivan replied as he stuck the handkerchief back unto his jacket pocket.

“But anyway, you can wait for Mishka to meet someone else. There’s no reason to think that she will marry the werewolf,” he continued with the corners of his mouth turned down in disagreement.

“According to what I’ve seen in the crystal ball, they are spending time together, or they are going to spend a lot of time together.

He will be a hero in her eyes soon,” Myrtle remarked with an angry scowl on her brow.

“He’s a wolf, but what if we just can’t separate them? What if they’re meant to be? We would simply be wasting our time trying to separate them,” Ivan responded as he plopped down onto a chair.

“So, you’re not whole-heartedly committed to this plan?” Myrtle asked as she stared down at him, shaking her head in disbelief.

“I am because I want you to try your best to get me back to my former self as a complete human being who doesn’t change into a cat from time to time,” Ivan responded as he leaned on the table with his elbow.

“Well then, let’s give it our best effort. We need to catch this man tonight,” Myrtle responded with her eyes widening from the excitement that she was feeling on the inside.

“Why tonight? Don’t you know what happens when a person is too hasty with their goals and ambitions?” Ivan asked, cupping his chin with a white-gloved hand.

“He’s the reason for these fights amongst the females in his life.

Now it seems as if he fancies Mishka. I saw it in my crystal bowl. Those female wolves will overpower us if we don’t notice their activities and all because they want Mishka out of the way,” Myrtle replied as she turned back to her potion of herbs and began to stir it again.

“You can meet some new people at the ball tonight and some of them might even be more powerful than the two of us,” Ivan commented with a raised brow.

“Why would we need them?” Myrtle asked, staring at Ivan in confusion.

“Maybe they can find a way to separate your daughter and the werewolf without having to kidnap him. That way you will stay out of trouble with the law,” Ivan explained as he tapped his stick onto the floor rhythmically.

“Well, then I can’t wait until tonight. I have to find out now,” Myrtle remarked. She stopped stirring her mixture and gazed into it blankly.

“Are you impatient now?” Ivan asked, shaking his head in disapproval.

“If I’m going to meet someone powerful there then I want to be prepared for it so that I can make plans ahead of time,” Myrtle responded.

“Of course, so that you will know whether you should take this magic potion with you or not,” Ivan responded as he stared at the mixture in the bottle and shrugged.

“I want a good idea of the person who’s going to be there, so I can know how to approach them, that’s what.

Otherwise, I am taking this with me anyway, just in case I don’t get my message through to another supernatural advisor,” Myrtle responded with her brows raised high as she stared at Ivan in determination.

“Very well then. Are you going upstairs to look into your crystal ball and find out about the guest list for tonight or should I look into the water for you again?” Ivan asked as he tucked his stick under his arm and rose from the chair.

“Wait, we can’t waste time. Let me see. The crystal ball is upstairs and then I have to come back here again,” Myrtle mentioned in contemplation.

“But I can’t look into the water if the oil isn’t here. Why don’t you just leave it here and hide it for next time?” Ivan asked, shaking his head at Myrtle’s lack of organizational skills.

Mishka had noticed some familiar faces in the crowd as she sang earlier.

“Where did I see them before?” she now asked herself inwardly as she sat at the table with Bruce, Josh and Graham. She wished that Elle could have been there too, but Josh was her assistant and apparently, Graham was Bruce’s assistant.

“You really should try and make this a regular part of your life as a singer. Your singing style works well with modelling ramp walks,” Graham commented.

“Definitely, I agree and you can use the videos to promote your music, then you don’t have to do other videos on your own,” Bruce commented as he raised his glass.

“It’s all still too fresh and new for me. I will see how it goes with the public when I post it on social media and with recording companies.

But, thank you for the votes of confidence,” Mishka responded with a tiny grin on her face.

“So, has Theresa not followed you at all yesterday or today?” Graham asked with his eyes on Mishka’s face.

“Not that I’m aware of. Lyle promised that he would do something about it. But, now that I think about it again, there were some members in the audience today who looked familiar to me while I sang,” Mishka responded with a frown and her eyes narrowed.

“Oh? So, you couldn’t place them?” Bruce asked with a concerned frown on his brow as he looked at Mishka. He held his breath for her response.

“I think I saw them in the woods with Theresa on the day when my friend and I went into the woods with the gardener,” Mishka responded nodding slowly.

She could not mention that she and her companions were actually wolf-hunting on that day. The only reason for their little trip was to see possible werewolves.

“So, you saw those people here again today?” Bruce asked, still frowning in concern.

“Yes, I’m now sure it was them, but today Theresa wasn’t with them. She wouldn’t dare because on that same day, I yelled at her for stalking me,” Mishka responded while keeping her eyes on the food on her plate.

“That means that they’re our models,” Bruce responded with a deep frown on his brow.

“Oh? That means that Theresa is friends with your models?” Mishka asked with her eyes stretched wide in surprise.

Bruce looked at her with concern as well as a touch of fear in his eyes.

“Then you won’t be safe coming here then if the stalker’s friends work here?” Josh suggested with raised brows as he glanced at Mishka in surprise.
