Chapter 53

Daisy's POV

"Summer, we need to find the King. We need to kill him." "I will follow the power." I was happy that she was willing to listen to me. Summer tore through everyone in her path. She came to where the prince was. Lorde was fighting with him. "Summer Lorde has this. We need to find the King. She moved, trying to see who had the most power. She traveled to the edge of the tree line. He was close but not in the fray. Summer continued into the trees. There were more wolves.

She began to tear into them. There was not a huge number, but they were fierce. She continued to rip into them. She had a massive chunk of her side bitten into. She whimpered but continued to fight them. It took her longer than she thought, with being the only one fighting these wolves. Once they were dead, she was chewed up pretty severely.

Then she felt him. The King, his wolf, was right in front of Summer. His wolf was massive. His auror was pure power. Despite not being in his pack, I was able to hear him. That is how powerful he was. "You should not be here, little wolf. You will not win." I knew he was right. I stood no chance. If I could just get him to shift, I could trick him, jump mid-shift, and kill him. It was the only way I knew I could defeat him.

"Why don't we shift, and we can fight that way." "No I don't think so. You are Luna of this pack, am I right." "Yes." "Then I am afraid I am going to have to kill you. Well, unless you surrender." Summer said in my head. "Never." She didn't even let me have control and jumped at him. He was strong. We were cut up badly already, but his bites were intense. He tossed us to a tree. All of a sudden, he let out a massive howl. "Your mate killed my son, and now I will kill you."

"Callum, I have the King. Hurry, I am in the trees; I am trying." "Why did you go after him by yourself." I could not respond; I knew I needed to escape him. He would only be killed if Lorde and Summer fought together. I took off running. Summer was in so much pain. She tried to use her speed, but I knew she was slower than usual. She was running as fast as she could, though.

As we ran, I saw a familiar black wolf. It was Lorde. "Lorde, thank fuck." She turned, and both of us saw the King barreling for us. "The sides of him. Bit into his stomach and don't let go of whatever happens. He is powerful. We will need to bleed him out, I think." We moved far from him, but he turned toward Summer and snapped at her side. But he missed, and I thanked the Goddess. There was no way she would be able to get to his side.

Lorde was on his side, though. The King was thrashing around, trying to get him off. I had to end this. I saw how he was dangerously close to Lorde's tail. If he got to it, he would rip it off. I did the only thing I could think of while he was distracted. I shifted. He didn't even notice. I slid under him now that I was small enough to fit. I shifted my bloody arms. And dug into his stomach. I then turned my whole body and with my front paws holding him. Summer bit as hard as she could, pulling a chunk of him away. She kept doing it again and again.

She could not see from all the blood pouring out of him. But she did not stop. Finally, he fell on Summer. She was pinned. Was he dead? He had stopped thrashing, so I assumed so, but she was being crushed. I could not shift to crawl out. His weight would break so many bones if not wholly destroy me. "Daisy, are you alive?" I was feeling lightheaded. I knew he had ripped me up heavily before Callum had come. I had been going on pure adrenaline. But now that I was being pinned, it was slowly leaving me.

I didn't know how much blood I had lost, but I knew it was a lot as I was dizzy. "Callum, you need to get me out from under here. I am, I can't breathe, I don't feel good." "Just stay awake. I am having some wolves come to help." The King's wolf was a giant. There was no way no one person could pull him off of me by themselves. Even if they were as strong as Callum. "Callum, I don't feel good."

"I know, baby, I know. But you need to stay conscious. If you shift, you will be crushed." As if I didn't know that. I don't know how long I would be able to stay awake. If I passed out, I would shift back. I was losing so much blood. If this is how I was going to die. So be it. I had protected the pack. I would hate to have to leave Callum. I could not do that to him. We had no real time together. "Talk to me, Daisy. Just a little while longer." "Callum, I love you so much." "Daisy, I love you too. This is not goodbye, I promise." "Are we going to be royalty now?" "I don't know what do you want to be?"

I had to talk about anything other than the crushing weight. Or the pain as the pressure had already broken some bones. Not to mention, my stomach was ripped all to hell. "I just want you and our pack and some babies." "Then there will be no more Royals, just us and Blood Paw. Everyone can be their own pack and keep themselves." "Good." I felt the wolf on top of me being pushed away, and it was just in time as I only saw black.
