Chapter 178 Untitled Chapter

Chapter 178 Untitled Chapter
NOAH DOMINIC

“She did what?”

No, no, no! This is bad.

“Where is she now? Still in the house?”

I got up, circling the living room. Ever since I received that call that Llizzy was searching my house, my mind hasn't been at rest. I know she will definitely find something in that house that will implicate me. And to even say that she arrested Amy. Lizzy is going to bring an end to my life.

Amy knows a great deal about me. She knows how I plan my businesses. She knows about Sophia’s whereabouts, and I am sure Lizzy will do whatever she can to suck out the information from her.

“Detective Lizzy has left your mansion, Mr. Noah, but she found something. One of the files you hid in your study room. The one that contains the business agreement between you and the late Mr. Bosca.”

Hell no! Not that one.

Things have gotten out of hand. Now I am done for. How did I even end up in this mess? I shouldn't have left that town; I should have stayed behind and taken care of things. Lizzy wouldn't spare me; she is a crazy person who turns into a monster when she finds prey to feed on.

Jeez!

Although I cannot kill Sophia, I should have wiped off her memory just as that dude suggested and then released her back to her mom. That way, she wouldn't have remembered anything from the park and the things I said. I wouldn't have gotten into this mess, I swear.

If Lizzy finds Sophia, she will tell her the whole thing and…

Who am I even kidding? What on Earth am I saying? Lizzy has found out already, and it's best if I don't go back to that town again.

The reason I left that town was to successfully transport those ladies out of the country by faking that my legs needed surgery. Then, I will have Sophia brought to this country too, so she will spend her entire life here, and perhaps when she grows up, she will be sent over to my clients as their pet.

But it is the worst decision I have ever made. If I hadn't left, Lizzy wouldn't have gone into my house to search for anything. Sighs.

“Whatever happens next, give me a heads-up.”

As soon as I disconnected the call, another call came in. This time, it is from the headquarters, from one of the officers who are my puppets.

“This is bad, Mr. Noah.”

Yeah, I know. Everything has gone bad, a lot bad.

“Detective Lizzy has found her daughter, and…”

Omg! That’s it!

“She is currently interrogating the person whom you left to guard her.”

Dang it!

“Do you know what? Inform the rest to be careful. None of you must call me again unless I was the one who called you.”

If they keep calling me to give me information on what is going on, Lizzy might catch them red-handed someday. She is smart; she uses different tactics to lure people into her nest.

“Yes, Mr. Noah, I will do just that.”

The moment he ended the call, I hurried inside the inner room, picked up the trolley, and threw it on the bed. I unzipped it and slid my hand inside the pocket, but I was left with a shock.

The kind of shock that hit me when my hand touched an empty place was like that of electricity. My blood went cold like ice, and I stopped breathing for a few seconds.

The phone. No! The phones!

I tossed the phone in my hand on the bed, picked up the trolley, and turned it upside down. I jiggled it, bringing out the remaining things in it, but all that fell were papers, and not a hard object that looked like a phone.

My vision darkened, the trolley fell out of my hand, tumbling down the bed, and my legs went numb. I dropped to my knees, swallowing the heavy blow that had hit me in the gut. How could something as terrible as this happen all of a sudden? I am not prepared for it. No, not now.

My secret cannot be revealed right now. I haven't gotten all the things I needed in this business. I still have a long way to go. I want to become the leader of a notorious gang before I repent. I want to take over Bosca’s business as the rightful person to do that.

Now I have left the phone back there, Bosca’s phone. The phone I have been keeping safe since the day Bosca was arrested by Lizzy.

That phone contains a lot of information that Lizzy must not see.

The whole of the town is going to shake and erupt like a volcano if she sees the information inside that phone.

What should I do now? I must do something urgently before she gets to investigate that phone.

With trembling and sweaty hands, I picked up the phone from the bed and dialed one of the officers' numbers.

“I want you to do whatever it takes to take Bosca’s phone away from Lizzy. She must not succeed in searching that phone. If she does, we are all done for, especially you guys, since you are there with her. Find that phone and destroy it!

“I will do that,” he said in a scared tone.

He’d better do it; if not, they are in hot, spicy soup. For me, I can decide to leave this country again, and no one will know where I will go.

I disconnected the call and stepped onto the balcony to dry off the pool of sweat on my body that had soaked my vintage shirt. As soon as I placed my elbows on the railing, a notification popped up on my phone.

I clicked on it, and it took me straight to the internet, showing the latest news of the day.

My eyes snapped wide, my heart pounded against my chest, and the phone slipped out of my hand, rolling and rolling down the building until it dropped and shattered into pieces.

It’s already live, and the news is all over the place. Now, everyone in New York City has found out who I am.
