Chapter 124 Untitled Chapter
“Tell me where you took those ladies who went missing ten years ago and those who disappeared a few days ago!” I slammed my hand on the table, glaring at Bosca, who sat across the table, head lowered in shame.
“So you chose to disgrace me this way, right?” he chuckled, lifting his head. “This will not turn out well for you, Lizzy; you will regret this very soon.”
Regret what? That I apprehended him and let out his secret?
“I don't care what you say, Bosca, I know how to deal with criminals like you, and this is it. So now, tell me where I can find those ladies. And if you have already killed them, then let me know too.”
He scoffed, lowered his head again, and went mute. All the questions I asked him next, he refused to answer me, and I was left with no choice but to have him returned to the prison.
He was an old man who would die if I decided to torture him, but I don't want him to die like that; I want him to feel the pain slowly as he is being hanged to death in front of all the citizens he has fooled in this country.
“As we keep searching for the missing ladies, prepare his file to be sent to the court for trial. Also, get me his phone; there must be a lot of information in it that will lead us to where to find the ladies.”
“Yes, detective.” The officer hurried away, and I returned to the office to wait for the phone. I know that I will definitely find clues inside that phone, including the people who are in business with him in this country.
This town is filled with hidden secrets, so I will eventually get ahold of some elites who are working with him, just like I did with the serial killer case.
Gosh! To date, I still can't believe that the chief was the mastermind behind the serial killing. Sighing, he looked innocent, like he could never hurt anyone.
A few hours later, the officer returned, but not with the phone. “Mr. Bosca’s phone is nowhere to be found, Detective Lizzy. We searched his room, his wife’s room, and the study room but couldn’t find him.”
Oh great! They knew I was coming after that phone and took it away. Nevertheless, it’s fine. I have already gotten what I want, so there is no need to go after the phone.
Since nothing interesting was going on in the headquarters and Alissa’s case hasn't been confirmed yet, whether she went to the restaurant or not, I decided to go to her place, the apartment where she lives with her younger sister.
When we arrived at the apartment, her sister wasn't home; she was in the neighbor's apartment and only came out when she was told I was looking for her.
That lady was a complete replica of Alissa, and had it not been that I knew that Alissa was missing, I would have mistaken the sister for her. Their way of walking was the same, as was their facial expression, and when she spoke, her voice sounded similar to Alissa's.
“Detective Lizzy? Have you found my sister?” she asked as soon as she approached the car where I stood. “Not yet, but we are on it. And that is what brought me here.”
She sighed deeply and wiped off the tears in her puffy eyes. “Can we go inside?”
We went inside the apartment and sat on the sofa, and when she offered to bring us drinks, I declined.
“We are in a hurry, dear. I only stopped by to ask you a few questions. Can I start?”
She nodded her head sadly and sat down. She was such a pity, and the way she was acting melted my heart. If only I could bring back her sister right now. Sighs.
“I saw in the news and on social media, Detective Lizzy, about Mr. Bosca being the Cocoka. I thought Alissa was among the ladies who were found in his house, but when we went to the hospital, she wasn't there.” She paused, sobbing. “When are we going to see Alissa? Her only offense was going on a date with the guy whom she has been in love with for years now.”
Interesting.
“She was all over the moon that day because he finally noticed her and invited her on a date. If only I knew that this was going to happen, I would have stopped her from going out.”
“Who is that guy? And why didn't you say it when I asked you a few days ago” When the report was brought, you should have mentioned who she went out on a date with.” She apologized and broke down in tears again.
Well, it seems Alissa’s case is different from those ladies after all. Sighs. That is such a relief. I can now focus on finding the man who took her out.
“I am so sorry about that. I had wanted to say it, but my parents said it won't work; they said that man cannot be brought to law because he is one of the elite in this town.”
Uhn? What nonsense was that? So the parents knew all along?? And they are trying to make a fool out of me by going around, finding clues on Alissa’s disappearance when they know who took her out?
“The top criminals I have dealt with and am dealing with are the elites, ladies. I am not afraid of them, and if you have been following all my solved cases all these years, you will know that I don't joke with them. In the serial killing case, who was the mastermind behind it?”
“The chief,” she sniffled.
“Did I bring his end or not?”
“You did.”
“Then why did you listen to your parents when you know that I am capable of bringing an end to any criminal in this town? Had it been you telling me all this while, we would have found Alissa by now. But you didn't; do not blame me if we find her dead later on.”
She broke down in tears, burying her face in her palms. “I am sorry, Detective Lizzy, I didn't mean to hide anything from you. Please forgive me. Help me find Alissa, please. She loved that guy for real; she never meant any harm towards him,” she wailed, running her fingers through her hair.
I just want her to mention the name of whoever it was so I can leave and get him arrested as soon as possible.
“It is the president of the company she works for, Mr. Noah Dominic.”
