Chapter 92 | Injuring oneself unconsciously
Caroline was hospitalized for three days, and now she has been allowed to go home.
"Dexson, thank you for taking care of me," Caroline said with a small smile.
"Don't worry about it. The most important thing is that you're getting better. I'm very happy," replied Dexson, stroking Caroline's head.
They then headed home to Caroline's house.
"Don't do any heavy activities for now. I'll take care of the cooking and housework. You need to fully recover first," Dexson said firmly.
Caroline was about to protest, but Dexson immediately stopped her. "Don't argue with me. I don't want you to get sick again. You might have gotten sick yesterday because you were exhausted."
Caroline sighed. Then Caroline decided to obey Dexson's wishes.
"Okay," replied Caroline.
Dexson smiled because Caroline obeyed his orders.
"Now you'd better just rest," said Dexson, to which Caroline nodded her head.
"I'll cook for you," he continued.
After that, Dexson left Caroline.
Caroline, who saw Dexson leave, looked very different. Her face showed a sad expression.
"Dexson, you made them come back. Do you know how scared I was?" Caroline muttered.
After finishing cooking, Dexson called Caroline to eat together.
They then ate together quietly, after which Dexson helped prepare medicine for Caroline.
"Thank you," said Caroline with a slight smile.
"Continue your rest, I have work matters that I must take care of," said Dexson, to which Caroline nodded her head.
After that, Dexson left, deciding to finish his delayed work.
Caroline intended to close her eyes, but the images and voices reappeared.
"It looks like I'll have trouble sleeping," Caroline said, holding back her tears.
Caroline got up and decided to sit down. Then Caroline took her drink and drank it almost all of it.
Caroline stared at her trembling hands. Honestly, she couldn't hold back her fear. She also didn't want Dexson to know about her worst illness.
"I have to be able to hold it in," Caroline said, taking a slow breath.
"I have to see Mom so my condition doesn't get worse," she continued in a soft voice.
Caroline was sure her mother had a solution to make her normal.
"Mom was the one who cured me before," Caroline said softly.
Dexson had finished his work. "Why aren't you asleep yet, Caroline? Are you sick again?" Dexson said as he sat down next to Caroline.
"I can't sleep," Caroline replied without looking at Dexson.
Dexson decided to lie down, then hugged Caroline. Caroline gasped, surprised by Dexson's sudden embrace.
"I'm just hugging you and rubbing your back, hoping you'll fall asleep," Dexson tried to explain to Caroline, seeing the fear on her face.
"I thought you were going to do something scary," Caroline muttered with a soft laugh.
"I would never do that, Caroline. So don't worry," replied Dexson, to which Caroline responded with a small smile.
Dexson then hugged Caroline again, and gently rubbed her back.
It was true, Caroline was slowly feeling sleepy. But she didn't dare to sleep yet, fighting her fear.
Caroline clutched Dexson's shirt tightly, she was really scared.
"Dexson, I'm scared," Caroline muttered softly. But of course Dexson could still hear her, he looked at Caroline's face with concern.
"Don't be afraid, I'm here. I'll protect you," Dexson whispered, trying to calm Caroline down.
"Damn it. It seems like something is wrong with Caroline. Her mental illness wouldn't flare up without a reason. Something must have triggered it," Dexson thought to himself.
Dexson smiled, feeling Caroline's breathing calm down, and he also saw that Caroline had fallen asleep.
"Sleep well, dear, I'll protect you. Don't be afraid anymore," Dexson said softly.
Dexson decided to sit on the sofa in the room because he couldn't sleep yet.
Dexson couldn't sleep; he was still thinking about why Caroline had become like this.
"Would they dare come here? But I asked Caroline's subordinates and they said everything was safe. Did they do it subtly and deliberately scare Caroline?" said Dexson.
Caroline woke up in the middle of the night. She looked at Dexson, who was not in her room.
"Where did Dexson go?" Caroline asked herself.
Caroline heard the voice again, then she covered her ears so she wouldn't hear it, but the voice grew louder.
"Fine. I'll destroy myself, but after that, you have to leave." Caroline then walked towards the bedroom window.
Caroline's room was on the third floor.
Dexson, who had just come out of the bathroom, was very surprised to see Caroline heading towards her balcony.
Dexson rushed over. He immediately hugged Caroline tightly, preventing her from doing something foolish.
"Caroline, what are you doing? Are you trying to hurt yourself?" Dexson snapped.
Caroline didn't answer; she fainted, leaving Dexson extremely worried.
Dexson immediately carried Caroline's body inside and laid her down gently.
"Kael's wife might be able to help me," Dexson muttered.
Dexson immediately contacted Kael, telling him to come to the house with his wife as soon as possible.
