Chapter 113 | Dexson's struggle to meet Edgar
Dexson spent some quality time with Caroline before leaving her to meet Edgar. Caroline herself did not suspect anything about Dexson's sweet attitude, thinking that it was just a form of affection from Dexson.

"Dexson, I'm so sleepy. I don't know why I'm so sleepy at this hour, or maybe it's the effect of the medicine I took?" Caroline said softly, unable to resist her sleepiness.

"Maybe. Don't fight it if you're really sleepy. Go to sleep," replied Dexson.

Caroline nodded her head, hugged Dexson, and slowly fell asleep.

"Sleep well, dear, and wait for me to return. When I come back, my leg will be healed, and we'll be able to go to Singapore sooner," said Dexson as he gently stroked Caroline's cheek.

Slowly, Dexson released his embrace of Caroline. Before he left, Dexson kissed Caroline's forehead for a long time, and only then did he leave her.

Dexson also asked Loren to take good care of Caroline while he was gone.

"I'll go alone. I've bothered Kael too often. Kael must be missing his wife too, and wants to enjoy moments together," Dexson muttered.

Dexson tried to go alone in his car, driving carefully.

It was quite a long journey, taking about seven hours if Dexson drove at a moderate speed.

"I should be able to get there faster, but because of my condition, I'll probably be much slower," Dexson grumbled, trying to endure the pain.

Of course, it wasn't easy to find Edgar. Edgar was a young man who was skilled in traditional medicine, and he chose to live in a simple place in the forest where there were few inhabitants. Therefore, not many people knew about Edgar, but Dexson had been helped by Edgar before, so he knew about him.

"My car won't be able to enter the forest either, and there's only one option: I have to walk to get to Edgar's place," Dexson growled as he hit the steering wheel of his car.

The problem was that the forest roads were not easy to navigate. There were many cliffs that Dexson had to pass, and with his legs in this condition, it would obviously take a long time.

"It looks like I'll be leaving Caroline for even longer," Dexson muttered.

Dexson had told Loren that if he didn't return on time, Loren had to make food mixed with the sleeping potion. Dexson had also explained that only a few drops were needed.

Loren, of course, believed him and thought the potion was a cure for Caroline. Kael had previously told her that Caroline had a serious mental illness.

"I still have to try to hurry, so I don't leave Caroline for too long. Caroline should be cured quickly," Dexson said firmly.

His face showed strong determination, because his love for Caroline was indeed very great.

When he arrived at the forest, Dexson left his car behind and began walking into the middle of the forest.

"Damn! I forgot to bring water. I'm also very tired," Dexson grumbled, breathing irregularly.

Dexson looked down at his increasingly swollen feet and felt that he could no longer walk.

"No. I can't give up! I have to be strong for Caroline," said Dexson.

Dexson gripped his stick tighter and, with great effort, continued walking towards Edgar's house.

"I hope I don't die here. I still have to live and marry Caroline and have a small, harmonious family," muttered Dexson.

His face was pale. Not only were his legs getting worse, but he was also very thirsty, and he thought he still had a long way to go.

"Why did he have to live in the middle of the forest like this?" Dexson grumbled as he wiped his sweat.

"I have to stay strong! I'll be there soon and meet Edgar," he continued.

Dexson wasn't walking; he was dragging his legs with force. It was as if the cane he was holding tightly couldn't help him anymore. He wanted to rest, but that would only delay him further.

Dexson chuckled softly when he saw Edgar's simple house. With all his strength, Dexson tried to get there.

"Excuse me," said Dexson as he knocked on the door.

Dexson did this several times, but still no one responded.

"Damn! Is Edgar not home? Or does he no longer live here?" grumbled Dexson with an annoyed expression.

Dexson knocked on the door again, but still no one answered.

"If Edgar isn't here, I'll probably die here," Dexson muttered with a frustrated look on his face. Dexson even sat weakly in front of Edgar's door.

"Caroline, I love you. Don't leave me," Dexson whispered before he lost consciousness.

Dexson opened his eyes and looked around. He was in Edgar's simple room.

"Thank God you're awake. I thought you were dead. I found you unconscious in front of my house," said Edgar.

Dexson breathed a sigh of relief. He wasn't dead after all. He smiled slightly, grateful for the chance to live and, of course, to marry Caroline and be happy with her.

"I came here to ask you to heal my leg. But unfortunately, I fainted because the trip here was so exhausting," explained Dexson.

"Oh my god. Don't you live in a big city? Surely there are many great doctors who can heal your injury. Why did you bother coming here?" asked Edgar with a chuckle.

"I want to recover quickly and in a short time, and you're the only one who can do that. Ordinary doctors can't," replied Dexson.

"I'm flattered by your praise, and you admit that I'm far better than city doctors," said Edgar with a laugh.

"But what's in it for me if I manage to heal your leg quickly?" he continued.

"I know you don't want a lot of money, but something that makes you happy. So just tell me what you want," replied Dexson.

Edgar laughed again at Dexson's words, realizing that this man understood him. "All right, I'll heal you with my treatment, but you know it's very painful. Are you ready?"

Dexson nodded firmly. "Of course! If I wasn't ready, I wouldn't have come here."

"But I want your two best weapons, and you have to help me work for ten days. I need someone as strong as you. Do you agree?" he asked, leaving Dexson silent and conflicted.
