Chapter 63 A Malicious Statement!
Chapter Sixty-Four
“Oh how terrifying!” Aria wailed mockingly, “Your blood will be on us. So we should forever be ridden with guilt, right?” She scoffed in derision, “Do you actually think that’s going to be the case?!”
Tori looked like she was going to explode, “You!…”
Aria had just made her one last card look like a joke. First she had been made to look like a materialistic woman and now, she was telling her that her death would not even cause a stir.
Of course, Tori would not dare to kill herself. She was still young and full of life; all she wanted was to Mrs Graves, to attain that same status as Aria Beaumont.
Aria scoffed, seeing through her shady plans in minutes. Tori had probably teamed up with Clara and Selena to make Aria miserable.
If Tori had succeeded in seducing Lucian, then she would marry him and in turn take away the affection of the Graves family from Aria.
But Lucian had not fallen for her lousy seduction and now she intended to take him down with a false accusation, hoping to get him to do her bidding by forcing him to take responsibility.
Aria scoffed once more, as she walked towards Tori, her arms crossed defensively across her bosom, “Let me tell you something, Tori Sanders, whether you live or die, it’s meaningless to the Graves family,” she uttered, “If you kill yourself, it will only be a loss to the Sanders family.”
Tori was breathing hard as she listened to those words. Suddenly, she pushed Aria away from her, “He must take responsibility for me!” She screamed in fury, “You’re just scared I will take away the affection of your man! He must take responsibility for me!”
Aria staggered back with the push, but she still kept her balance. Lucian, however, was by her side in seconds, catching her by the waist and steadying her.
“Are you okay?” His voice tinged with concern.
Aria nodded, “I’m fine.”
Lucian glared at Tori, “Do you have a death wish?!” He uttered through gritted teeth.
Tori seemed to have gone crazy. She stared at Lucian with eyes wide open, pointing at herself, “Responsibility. You must take responsibility for me!” She uttered in a frenzied manner, over and over again.
Her parents were scared out of their wits, “Tori, please don’t do this!” They begged, then turned to Lucian, “Mr Graves, do something! Do you want our daughter to go crazy because of you?!”
Madam Graves eyed them, exasperated by their ridiculous demand, “Well, do you want us to take in a crazy woman into our family?!”
Clara immediately turned on her, “This is all Mr Graves fault in the first place!” She said rudely, “If he had not assaulted her, she would not have this nervous breakdown now!”
“Yes, take responsibility for her!” Selena seconded, “Take responsibility for her at once!”
She exchange secret looks with her mother and Tori, who was actually playing her part well.
Selena and Clara were elated and very much impressed with Tori’s acting. They did not know that she would put so much of her heart and soul into their plan.
“From the way things are going, we just need to apply more pressure and the Graves family will bow to our demands.” Clara thought gleefully.
She turned to her husband, “George! Don’t just stand there! Please say something!”
“Yes Dad! Don’t let the Graves family get away with this!” Selena yelled, putting pressure on the man.
The Sanders family also fell to their knees before George, “Please, help our family. Help our Tori,” they pleaded, “Help her before she completely loses it!”
The entire atmosphere became chaotic and George could have help but bow to their pressure. He cleared his throat nervously and faced the Chairman Graves.
“Chairman, with the way things are going, Lucian has to take responsibility for our Tori,” he uttered boldly, “If he does not, it will affect her mental health greatly. And then, she would not be able to get married at all!”
“What?” Madam Graves scoffed in outrage, “That’s just ridiculous! You can’t force this girl on my son! He’s already married!”
“Well, he can take another wife.” Clara said with a bitch smile, “I think he’s just like his father. He is not satisfied with just one woman now, is he?”
The entire air grew cold at that malicious statement. There was such a thick silence that even the drop of a pin could be heard.
Madam Graves went pale, and she started trembling slightly.
“You…why did you just say to me?” She uttered in a broken whisper.
The Chairman turned red in the face, “How dare you?!” He thundered.
Clara was obviously referring to that time when the Chairman Graves had fallen prey to the seductions of madam Shay.
That was the mother of Nathan Graves.
That time was one of the most darkest times of Madam Graves life. She had never felt so betrayed in her life , especially since she was forced to stay back in the marriage because of her son, Lucian, who was the rightful heir.
The fact that Clara could dare to bring something like that up before her showed the height of her disrespect and disregard for Madam Graves.
Clara had really messed with the dragon this time.
“You…” Lucian’s voice was deathly calm but the way the air shifted was anything but calm, “You think the Beaumont family will remain the same after this?” He looked straight at Clara, his eyes as cold as the arctic, “I will destroy you!”
Clara swallowed hard at that statement, finally realizing the weight of her statement as well as the possible repercussions.
Her husband stared at her, with gritted teeth. It looked as though his breath had been stolen from him as he looked so pale and helpless.
He wished at that moment that he was not involved at all with Clara.
Clara could feel the tension in the atmosphere and a cold sweet broke out on her forehead.
“I…I…I was only trying to explain…,”
She was trying to make an excuse when Aria walked up to her and gave her a slap.
