Chapter 119 Stay…Or Get Thrown Out!
Chapter One Hundred And Eighteen
“Th…that’s impossible!”
Nathan’s jaw dropped open in shock, looking at the Finance Director, then back at Aria.
The Chairman had a look of disgust on his face as he glared at Nathan.
“Did you hear that?!” He asked harshly, “She’s proven to be far more better than you. The one you call country bumpkin is far more better than you!”
“That’s impossible!” Nathan muttered in a frenzy, “That’s impossible, that’s impossible, that’s impossible!”
“It’s very much possible as we can all see, Nathan,” Aria uttered, her eyes glinting with triumph, “Just accept that you’re not good enough.”
Nathan could not believe what he was hearing. He actually held his head in his hands and staggered backwards in shock.
Aria Beaumont had actually been right.
The Nexus project had hit off and became successful , while he was the one who was at a loss, the one facing humiliation.
Within minutes, the news of that revelation concerning Nexus Logistics spread across the entire company.
The group chats of the employees were blowing up and everyone was marveling how Nathan had lost against Aria Beaumont.
The ones who’d placed their money Nathan lamented and those who’d been supportive of Ari became even more amazed by her prowess.
The group chats were blowing up with messages from the employees praising Aria and bashing Nathan.
“She’s awesome! I can’t believe she beat Director Nathan this own game!”
“He must be so embarrassed right now. Serves him right. This is why you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover !”
“lol, Marketing Head Aria showed she was not to be trifled with from day one. He just thought she could never beat him. His pride caused him this fall!”
“Oh please, like you all were not rooting fur him before his downfall? Who would have thought a country bumpkin would win against our Director Nathan?!”
“You’re only saying this because you left Marketing Head Aria’s team. Serves you right as well!.”
“Really, I’m so sad for all those who left Marketing Head Aria’s team! Will they be thrown out with Director Nathan?!”
“That’s exactly what’s going to happen! That was the terms of the bet right?!”
“No one made a stupid bet! You all made this stupid bet yourself and now you’re going to suffer the consequences yourself!”
“Boo hoo, cry all you want! You’re still getting thrown out with your Director Nathan!”
This went on and on, causing tension in the workplace. The employees who had been coerced by Nathan to leave the marketing team had their hearts in their throats with worry.
They could be seen standing around in twos and threes, discussing in low tones.
They regretted their actions badly and wished they would turn back time.
Then they would not have looked down on Aria Beaumont.
Back in the boardroom, everyone had their attention on Aria. The Chairman cleared his throat, as he straightened up in his seats.
His voice rang out loud and clear all over the huge boardroom, “From today, she leads all major bids!”
“What?!” Nathan screeched, coming back to his senses at once, “She leads all what?!”
Everyone ignored him as they all broke out in raucous clapping and hearty cheering.
Lucian had a pleased smile on his face, his shoulders stretched taut with pride. He had also been amazed at Aria’s good fortune, and how she’d been able to turn Nexus Logistics into something everyone wished they had their hands on.
Lucian wondered how she was able to get Kurt Eugene and his scheming ways.
Now with the patent from Vaughn Empire blocked, Kurt Eugene seemed to be facing even more backlash in the industry.
It was about Aria had deliberately caused that to happen, having had prior knowledge of what was going to happen.
Lucian frowned, confusion knotting his brow. He still hadn’t figured out what exactly was the connection between his wife and Kurt Eugene.
Zach had gotten back to him after that day three months again, but it seemed like Aria had ceased to be curious about the Vaughn Empire.
She had been completely silent for the three months.
But now…looking at her face which was serene in the middle of the cheers, Lucian realized that it was time for to get back on her groove.
All around them, the Directors looked at each other, nodding in approval as they clapped.
“She sure is a diamond in the rough!”
They uttered to themselves, much to the annoyance of Nathan.
She was a diamond in the rough?!
That’s hilarious! Aria Beaumont was more like a piece of rubble.
“But how can she be heading all the major bids?!”
He was unaware that he’d actually said this outloud and the Chairman gave him an irritated look.
“I know the concept of competence is very hard for you to understand!” The Chairman uttered, “But Aria had shown us what it means, so therefore she will be heading all the major kids across all departments.”
“What about me?!” Nathan blurted out before he could think of the consequence of what he was about to say.
His face turned pale as the chairman glared harder at him.
“You’re stripped of your power concerning the bids,” he answered, “But if you want to do something so badly, you can assist Aria in securing the bids she will be handling. Although, I don’t think you will be of much help.”
“He won’t, Chairman,” Lucian replied crisply, “It’s better to just strip him of his position and send him out!”
Nathan glared at Lucian wishing he would not put ideas into the head of the Chairman.
The way the Chairman was so livid right now, he’d be even more willing to throw Nathan out.
Nathan knew that if that happened, then he might as well just give up on his goals.
He’d lost almost all his personal assets, and now he was about to be stripped from his position as well.
The Chairman was the only one who could decide that though.
Nathan looked at him in horror, shaking his head slightly as if to say, “Father, please don’t!”
The Chairman gave him a stern look, “Director Nathan can stay and assist Marketing Head Aria,” he called out in a loud voice, “Or he can hold on to his pride and be thrown out!”
