Chapter 145

Chapter 145
After spending a few more days bonding with his new family, Beck went back to his pack, happy and fulfilled, while Veronica and the twins went back home with her parents.

Beck informed his family of his plans to get married to Veronica the following month, and they were in full support. Blue, on the other hand, apologized to her brother to forgive her for how she treated Veronica in the past.

"You shouldn't apologize to me. You should apologize to Veronica in person. I know you have apologized with mum and dad, but you still need to do it on your own, because you've been nothing but a pain in the throat, Blue." He said, coldly.

"If you're truly sorry, you have to go to her father's pack and apologize to her. If you're lucky, and she forgives you, then that's good, BUT if she doesn't forgive you, KNOW THAT YOU NO LONGER HAVE A BROTHER." He threatened, and her eyeballs almost popped out of their sockets.

"I'll... I'll apologize to her. I'll go right now." She said, desperately.

"Good. And if you know what is good for you, make sure you don't come back until she forgives you." He added, leaning back in his chair.

"I will. I will do whatever it takes." Blue said, sincerely.

"Well, good luck with that." Beck then said, with a hint of mockery in his tone.

Noticing her brother's tone, she asked, "Why do you sound like you're mocking me?"

He sat up. "Do you know how long it took for her to forgive me? More than a year, Blue. It took more than a year. I'm so lucky that she decided to forgive me. If not, I probably would have died by now."

Blue rolled her eyes. "But that wasn't my fault." She then folded her hands across her chest, and said, "That was your fault."

Beck furrowed his brows.

Blue continued, "Yes, you were the one who was so scared of father's threat, that you couldn't say a word in her defense that day." She stated in a rush, and Beck's jaw fell in shock.

"I've never seen such a cowardly lover." She kept going on and on, and her brother just stared at her in bewilderment. "You're so lucky that she is a good and nice person, because if anyone does that to me, I will NEVER forgive him."

"In my defense, my offense is not as grave as yours, though. I wonder why she forgave you." She rolled her eyes at him, teasing him further.

"Will you shut your mouth and get the hell out of here! You sharp-mouthed silly stupid girl." Beck sprung up, trying to chase her out of his room. "I wonder how you got to be my sister. You are nothing like me."

"Well, you didn't birth me, did you? Why would I look anything like you?" She retorted, and he glared at her.

"Good luck asking her to forgive you then." He shouted angrily, hissed and slammed the door in her face.

"Whatever!" She shouted back at him from outside.

She then immediately left for Silver Mist Pack, not knowing what her journey held. Deep down she was scared that Veronica wouldn't forgive her, but she knew she had to try any way, because she was truly sorry.

Although she was sharp-mouthed and said a lot of despicable things about Veronica to make her brother change his mind about her, she realized that he still didn't stop loving her even after she left the pack. He was a coward back then, but he had now grown bolder, and wouldn't take "No" for an answer from anyone.

"Gosh! This mouth and attitude of mine. I should have been more patient." She muttered to herself as her heart kept beating faster as they kept approaching the Silver Mist Pack.

After three days, she was back in their pack, and seeing her arrive, Beck immediately headed to her room.

"So? How did it go?" Beck asked immediately as he walked in.

"Won't you at least wait for me to freshen up and rest a little?" She complained, seeing the anticipation in her brother's eyes.

"Who cares about that?" He hissed, and slipped his hands into his pockets. "So?"

She smirked. "Didn't she tell you anything?"

"If she had told me anything, do you think I'd be here stressing myself trying to get this information from you?" He replied sharply.

"That's true though." She replied, nodding her head slowly. "Anyway, she has forgiven me!" She squealed with excitement, but her brother didn't seem convinced.

"You liar! Why would she forgive you so easily?" He complained, frowning.

"Well, I told you she is a very good person. Although it took a while, she did forgive me." She said, smiling gladly.

"Oh, so now you know she is a good person?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.

Blue's face fell, and her excitement vanished. "Must you ruin the moment? What is wrong with you?"

"That face of yours does nothing to me, just in case you've forgotten." He said, and she bit her lip.

"Whatever! Anyway, what matters the most is that I'm forgiven, and I can't explain how happy I am about it." She said, getting excited all over again.

Finally happy and grateful, Beck grinned from ear to ear.

"Oh look, the lover boy smiles." Blue teased him, laughing.

"Get out of here..." He said sharply, and walked away.

The preparations for the wedding then commenced immediately.

The following month came by so fast and Veronica got married to Beck in a lavish wedding, with all the dignitaries from different packs in attendance.

Steve, who had now become the Alpha of Fire Dawn pack, Scott, Beta Richard, Beta Lily and Alpha Marcus, Steve's father, were all in attendance at the grand event.

“Congratulations, Vee.” Scott said, embracing Veronica. “Please take care of my sister. I'll surely make you pay if you hurt her.” He warned Beck, who raised his hands in surrender.

“Trust me to take very good care of her.” Beck replied with a smile.

He then ran off to play with Vincent.

“Please, take care of my friend.” Steve said. “And just like Scott said, we'll find you and make you pay if you make her cry.” He added with a smile as he shook hands with Beck, and hugged Veronica.

“Congratulations, Veronica. I'm so sorry everything turned out the way it did.” Steve's father apologized to her.

“Oh no, sir. I've moved past that. I'm grateful to you for giving me a roof over my head even while I was still in your pack. Thank you so much, Sir.” She replied with a beautiful smile, showing that she held no grudges.

“Hey, Vee. Congratulations.” It was Beta Lily, and she embraced her. “Congratulations to you. I'm so happy for you.” Beta Richard said, gladly.

“Your twins are so beautiful, by the way. They look exactly like both of you.” She added.

“Thank you so much ma'am. I'm so glad, and I'm so grateful.” Veronica replied with a heart of gratitude.

She thanked them all for coming and also promised them timely help, if their pack ever needed support in any way.

Soon the ceremony was over, and everyone headed to their respective homes.

“I really can't believe that we are here today.” Beck said, with Veronica in his arms.

“This is really like a dream come true.” He kissed her forehead.

“I know, right.” She responded, with a kiss on his lips.

“Is that all I get?” He complained.

“What else do you want?” She asked jokingly.

“All of you. I want all of you.” He teased, leaning in for a more passionate kiss.

“But the kids…” She tried to protest.

“They are sound asleep.” He responded, “I put them to sleep myself.” He added and as they began to kiss, taking off their clothes, they suddenly heard a scream for attention from their kids' room.

“I told you.” Veronica said, laughing at her husband as the kids' crying persisted.

“Phew!” Beck gave in, and went to attend to the kids, while Veronica laid in bed, grateful to the moon goddess for how far they had come.

Time flew by real quick, and soon it was the twins' second birthday.

They planned to have a grand party for them because they didn't have any party when they turned one, because Veronica was hiding them from Beck.

“I think we should have a blue and pink stand. So, we have a blue stand for the boys, and a pink stand for the girls.” Blue suggested, and Veronica nodded in agreement.

“I really don't think all that is necessary.” Beck said, cutting into their conversation.

“Please don't mind my brother. He doesn't know anything at all. He is too outdated.” She said, and Veronica burst into laughter.

“Oh really?” Beck asked.

“Of course.” Blue maintained her stand.

“Vee, you keep indulging her. That's why she keeps disrespecting me.” He said.

“I don't think she disrespected you, actually.” Veronica said in support of Beck's sister.

“See…” Blue said, and gave Veronica a high five.

“Alright. No problem. So she is saying your husband is outdated and you're supporting her.” He complained further.

“Oh no. I'm not supporting her. You're not outdated, you're in vogue.” Veronica teased, and Blue burst into a hearty laughter.

“That sounds even worse!” Beck exclaimed playfully.

“Oh… sorry.” Veronica said, trying not to laugh.

“There's no problem. You both can carry on. I won't interrupt you any more.” He said, leaving the room.

“Love you.” Veronica shouted before he left, and he came back to give her a kiss, while Blue frowned.

“Get a room.” Blue complained.

“You're the one who should get a room, because you're in my house and in my way.” Her brother teased, and gave Veronica another kiss, ensuring his sister was watching them.

“I better leave.” Blue said, getting up.

“No, we're not done yet.” Veronica tried to stop her.

“Well, when he is done and satisfied, you can let me know.” Blue said, walking out and sneering at her brother, who didn't care.

“Really?” Veronica frowned. “You just intentionally chased her away, you know?” She complained.

“But I didn't do anything. I'm innocent.” He innocently raised his hands.

“You're such a clown.” She joked, and they both laughed.

The day finally arrived, and it was the twins' birthday party. The whole hall was decorated with two colors; Pink and Blue, just like Blue had suggested.

They also hung up a banner, which read, “Happy Birthday Mikey and Miley.”

There was also a lot of food, drinks and a lot of fun games to play. Not only did the kids have fun, the adults present also had a swell time. Dancing and cheering the children who played games, having so much fun.

“Where are the kids?” Veronica’s mother asked her.

“They are with Blue, Beck's sister.” She responded, her eyes scanning around in search of Blue.

They finally saw her, but she was with one of the twins, Mikey.

“Where's Miley?” They asked her.

“Oh, she fell asleep, and I laid her in her crib in the house.” Blue answered, with a smile.

“Can you please get her for me? We need to take some pictures.” Veronica said to her.

“Alright, I'll be right back.” Blue said, and hurried into the house after handing Mikey over to Veronica.

Blue soon rushed out. “I don't know what is going on, I can't find her.” She screamed, panicking.

“What!” Veronica exclaimed. “Where is she?”

“She was in the crib. I put her there.” Blue said, as she began to search the whole place.

Noticing what was going on, Beck immediately approached them.

“What is going on?” He asked, seeing as his wife was in a distraught state.

“We're searching for Miley. We can't find her.”

Immediately, there was a commotion in the pack as the only princess had been kidnapped.

“Guards!” Beck screamed. “Find my daughter immediately.” He ordered, and they immediately spread out and began to comb the whole area in search of Miley.

After searching for hours, they came back with a blood-stained necklace, and a shoe.

“We found this in the woods.” The leader of the guards said, holding the blood-stained necklace, and the left leg of the baby's shoe.

Veronica immediately snatched the necklace, which had Miley's name engraved on it.

“No… No, this can't be!!!!” She screamed, collapsing to the ground.
