Chapter 16: What is your name?

It took a lot of time to locate her, but he did in the end. When he got the news that she was in the cafeteria, he quickly rushed over. He could imagine just how shocked she had been. He didn't want to dwell on that. He first had to locate her. When he entered the cafeteria, his heart couldn't help but tighten. He saw the girl staring blankly at the TV. It was as if she had yet to come to her senses. The news was already over, but she was still staring at the screen. Anyone could tell that she was in shock. After a while, the man made his way to where she was. She didn't even hear him or sense him when he made his way to where she was.
"Myra, Myra. " After calling for God-knows-how-long, Myra suddenly had a reaction. She turned her head to look and saw him.
"What are you doing here?" She was asking, but the man could sense that her mind wasn't even on him.
"To look for you. Let's go." The man said and held her hand, helping her to stand up. The girl still had a blank look in her eyes. As soon as she stood up, her legs wobbled. Thanks to his fast reflexes, he caught her in time. Without another word, he carried her and walked out of the cafeteria. The people who saw this scene were so shocked that they couldn't react on time. They were shocked that the dark lycan, who hated women, personally came over to pick Myra up. Not just that, but he even carried her away. How explosive was that? The dark lycan didn't care about what people were speculating. He was just worried about the little girl in his arms. The girl was trembling nonstop. When the chauffeur saw them, he quietly opened the door.

As soon as the dark lycan sat down next to her in the car, Myra seemed to have registered what had happened earlier.
"My parents...they...they.." She couldn't even speak coherently.
"I've sent my people to search for them." The Dark lycan said. He couldn't even tell her not to worry because he knew their chances of survival were close to zero. He didn't want to make empty promises either.
"I'm so scared." This was truly the first time she felt so scared in her lifetime. The parents were her backbone. How could she bear the thought of not ever seeing them again? She burst into tears. When the man saw this, he first glared at the chauffeur, who immediately lowered the partition before getting out of the car. The man gently pulled Myra into his arms and patted her back as a means of consolation. Myra didn't care about how dangerous he was. At that moment, she only felt safe in his arms. She couldn't hold her tears and let them flow freely. She cried until she was hiccuping. The man felt his heart break at the sight of her tearstreaked face. He wasn't disgusted to see the tears on his shirt, though. Which surprised him. He was a neat freak, after all.
"I'll try my best to look for them." The man said as he comforted her. He could understand her. Other than her parents, no one else loved or supported her. They were the only people who truly cared for her. It made sense to see her so scared. She was scared of losing the people who mattered to her.

The man waited until she was done crying before handing her a handkerchief.
"Thank you." Myra thanked him and sniffed. The man didn't mind. He just knew he couldn't bear to see her in that situation he found her in earlier own ever again. He couldn't even imagine it.
"Do you want to go home?" The man asked after watching her wipe away her tears.
Home? Myra paused.
"No." She shook her head. If she went back, she would definitely see the traces of her parents everywhere. It would definitely make her feel sad and depressed even more.
"Then?" The man wanted to hear her thoughts. Did she have another place in mind?
"I don't know." She shook her head in distress. She had no idea what to do or where to go. But she absolutely did not want to go back home. Especially not after hearing such devastating news.
"Do you want to come with me?" The man suddenly asked. Since she had nowhere to go, he couldn't let her wander by herself. What if she did something to herself or what if something happened to her? He couldn't bear that thought at all.
Myra nodded her head. They waited for the chauffeur who had gone to apply for leave of absence for Myra and pick her belongings from class. The chauffeur drove them to Jade Mansion. The journey was filled with silence. Everyone had their own thoughts.

"You're welcome. You can have a seat." The man said, and Myra thanked him before she went and nestled on the couch. Her brows were furrowed. The man knew she was thinking about her parents again. He made sure not to turn on the TV at all. It would only trigger her. Maybe due to exhaustion, Myra fell asleep on the couch after a few minutes. She looked so fragile that the man couldn't help but feel a dull ache in his chest. He went to fetch a clean blanket upstairs and covered her with it. He continued working beside her and would glance at her from time to time. He wanted to make sure she was okay even as she slept. Two hours later, the man saw a tear slide down her cheek from her right eye. The man frowned and stood up. He went to wipe her tear way, and he could tell that she was murmuring something.
"Mommy, Daddy." That was the only thing she kept repeating. When the man lowered his head to wipe her tear away, she instantly opened her eyes. Her eyes were filled with vigilance, but when she saw who it was, she quickly retracted the gaze.
"It's you." She confirmed.
"Mm." The man said and wiped away her tear. Myra didn't protest. She let him do what he wanted. He had already seen her vulnerable side, so it didn't matter.
"What is your name, by the way?" Myra couldn't help but ask. She had seen how meticulous and genuine he was. She wanted to at least know his name. As soon as he heard her questions, his movements froze in place.
