Chapter 13: Shopping?
"What is it?" When he saw how she looked at him, the dark lycan couldn't help but ask.
"Oh, it's just that I forgot to bring my anemia medicine with me." Myra said with some embarrassment. It was just whenever she delayed taking the medicine that her symptoms would flare up. And sometimes, she would even pass out. She didn't know why she forgot to bring such an important thing with her.
"What's the name of the medicine?" The man asked, and Myra told him the name. The man looked at the chauffeur, who immediately got out of the car and went to the chemist to purchase the meds.
"Can you hold on for a few minutes?" The man looked at her increasingly pale face and asked. He was really afraid that she would faint at that juncture.
"Mm." She could. She knew herself well. Soon enough, the chauffeur brought back the meds, and the man took it upon himself to feed her the medicine. He also instructed the chauffeur on a few things.
Myra frowned when she tasted the medicine. Of course, it was bitter, and she would always have a lollipop with her. Since it was a special circumstance, she didn't want to cause a fuss. She obediently took the medicine and lay back on the chair. A few minutes later, the chauffeur brought back some beetroot juice for her and other fruits.
"Thank you." Myra thanked the two of them and took a sip of the juice. Of course, she wasn't a fan of beetroots, but for her health, she had become used to it. The man only heaved a sigh of relief when he saw that her face was slowly regaining color.
"Make sure to carry your medicine next time. Give me your phone." As he said this, he stretched out his hand.
Myra gave him her phone. She didn't ask him what he wanted to do with her phone. After a while, he passed the phone back to her.
"Oh right, do you want me to share some of the jade with you?" The man suddenly asked.
"No need." Myra shook her head and said. She didn't need the jade. She was just helping repay his kindness a few days ago. She didn't want to owe him anything. Moreover, she still remembered now her parents had warned her not to associate herself with him because he was dangerous. She didn't want her parents to worry, so she could only suppress the familiar bond she felt and focus on making her parents not worry.
Moreover, if she wanted Jade, she could just ask her parents to purchase it for her. Rather, she could do it on her own now that she realized that she had such a unique skill.
"Okay." The man could only give up. He knew she was trying to keep her distance from him, but would he allow that to happen? That defended entirely on him. He didn't know why the moon goddess decided to give him a second chance, mate, but he was ready to give it a try. A step at a time. He didn't want to scare her away. And he was sure she'd already felt their bond. He knew of what had happened a few a year ago, and he knew she needed her time to heal. He just wasn't sure he would be so patient. Especially with how excited his wolf was.
"I'll go back first." After saying this, Myra picked up the bag containing fruits and her bag before alighting from the car. The man stared at her back until she disappeared before he retracted his gaze.
"Let's go." He instructed, and the chauffeur did as he was told. Just then, the man's eyes caught a baby pink hairband lying casually on the seat. It seemed like she forgot about it. As he thought of this, he stretched out his hand and took it to hold it between his fingers. When he smelled the hairband, Myra's scent wafted into his nostrils. He was intoxicated . After thinking for a while, he put on the hairband on his left arm. If she asked for it later, he would give it to her. That was more convenient. Fortunately, the chauffeur didn't see his actions. Otherwise, he would have been shocked senseless. His cold and aloof boss wearing a pink.hairband on his arm? How unrealistic would that sound?
As he closed his eyes, he remembered the events that transpired earlier. The nonchalant expression on her face even after asking hearing exclamations when they found jade in the Stone, as if she had already envisioned it. He smirked. It seemed that his little mate really had some hidden secrets, huh? He'd have to take his time to slowly get to know more about her. As for that nosy cousin of hers, a cold glint flashed past his eyes. He'd have to think about what to do about her. She kept on bugging Myra, and it didn't sit well with him. Did they think she had no one standing up for her?
The following day, a weekend and Myra planned to laze around. She had been so busy that she barely got any rest. She was excited just thinking about it. Myra wasn't worried that Lana would spill the beans about the fact that she had participated in the Stone picking. Unless she wanted to be berated by her parents for being incompetent. Lana's parents had high expectations for her, so they always expected excellent performance from her. She couldn't bear to tell them that Myra had surpassed her.
Myra was sleeping soundly the following day when her mom went to wake her up.
"Mom?" Myra said groggily. She had just started dreaming!
"Baby, let's go shopping. Wakey Wakey. " Her mother said and tickled her. If there was something that Myra was scared of, that would be being tickled. She sprung up from the bed and rushed into the bathroom. Her mother really knew her weakness. She could only resign herself to fate. What else could she do? That was her darling mother after all.
"Mom, why are we going shopping, though?" It's not like they lacked anything anyway. Also, if they wanted to buy something, they could just order it online and then have it delivered home. What the hell was her mother thinking?
"It's a secret. " Her mother said with a mysterious smile. This made Myra even more curious as to what was going to happen next.
