Chapter 12: Intrigued

"How is it?" Some curious onlookers couldn't help but ask. They were tired of guessing.
The Stone cutter just shook his head. The expression gave people the answer they were looking for. Myra and the man, on the other hand hand remained unfazed even after the cutter announced that there was no jade. It was as if the matter had nothing to do with the two of them. Lana had been looking forward to seeing the dark lycan get angry after the announcement, but to her horror, nothing of the sort happened. In fact, when she looked over, she happened to see him gently filling Myra's cup with tea. His movements were so meticulous. Myra, on the other hand, was using her phone. She didn't seem tensed at all. This made Lana gnash her teeth in hatred. What right did Myra have to be treated that way? What right did she have to sit beside the dark lycan and get served by him? She was just a good for nothing omega, how dare she?
When the man looked at Myra's unfazed expression, he also felt unusually relaxed. He trusted her in that aspect.
"Have your tea first." The man said to Myra. What he meant was that she could look or play with her phone later, as long as she had the tea before her first.
"Oh." Myra nodded and put away her phone before she took small sips from her mug. Everyone who saw her movements couldn't help but be drawn to her. The way she drank the tea was so refined and graceful. They had never seen the act of drinking tea look so attractive before. Even though she was wolfless, at least she wasn't lacking in manners. Myra frowned. She didn't like the way people kept looking at her. The man saw her discomfort and glared at the crowd, which instantly made them retract their gazes.

The sixth stone and there was still no sign of jade. The people began whispering and pointing fingers at Myra. Many were complacent and felt that she didn't know what was good for her. Otherwise, why would she tell the dark lycan not to purchase the Stone that contained jade, only to purchase all those stones without Jade? Did that make any sense? Only the two people involved were calm. The stone cutter continued cutting the next stone. After a while, someone heard a gasp. The gasp attracted the attention of everyone. Even the dark lycan looked over. It was just a glimpse. He turned to look at the girl beside him, who was playing on her phone, and a trace of intrigue flashed in his eyes. Compared to the others, he was more composed. He was already used to such scenes, so it wasn't a big deal.
The jade that was extracted was of high quality. People felt envious just by looking at it. All the remaining stones contained jade. Those who had started pointing fingers at Myra were stunned into silence. What could they say at that moment? They felt that they had slapped themselves on their faces, and it hurt like hell. Most of them shrunk back into the crowd, minimizing their presence as fast as they could. When they remembered the mean words they'd said earlier, they felt like digging holes to hide themselves.

Lana looked at everything that was happening, and disbelief was written all over her face. Could someone tell her what was happening? How could Myra, the ever timid and naive girl she's always known, know how to choose stones? The accuracy was what made Lana even more suspicious.
" Myra, did you cheat?" Lana couldn't help but ask.
Myra, who had her head lowered and was staring intently at her phone, suddenly raised her head when her name was called. Why were people always looking for trouble no matter how much she tried avoiding it.
"No." Myra answered coldly. The man beside her could tell that she was getting impatient.
"Then how did you pick all.those stones accurately?" Lana continued. She didn't want to let go of such a chance to ruin Myra.
"Since when did I have the obligation to report to you?" Myra sassed back coldly. She didn't understand why her cousin was always obsessed with finding fault with her. It had been that way since she was young. The two never got along.

"I want to go home." Instead of engaging with her cousin, Myra turned her head and said to the man beside her.
"Okay, let's go." As he said this, he first gave the manager of the place a look before he took Myra's hand and left the place under everyone's envious gaze. The manager understood what his gaze meant. The dark lycan didn't intend to sell the jade. His company dealt with Jade products, so why would he sell them?
His heart ached when he saw how fatigued Myra looked.
"Do you want to rest for a bit?" He asked with concern.
"No need. " Myra said. She'd rather go and rest at home. She just wanted to sleep in her comfortable bed.
As soon as they entered the car that was waiting, Myra slumped weakly on the seat. There were beads of sweat on her forehead, and it was evident that she was struggling. The man beside her frowned.
"Is anything the matter? Please tell me so I can help?" He was really worried. He didn't know what was going on, but he felt that she was definitely in a lot of pain at that moment. He didn't like how pale she looked.
"Can you tell me?" The man pressed again. It was clear that he was unwilling to let go of the matter until he got a satisfactory answer. Myra sighed. It seemed like she wouldn't be able to lie this time. So, after taking a deep breath, she looked at him straight in the face.
