Chapter 11: Stine cutting
"Don't buy it." As soon as Myra said this, people gasped. Even the man who was promoting the Stone felt bad. He was a certified stone appraiser. How dare the girl say that to him? However, when he looked at the cold man standing beside the girl, he held back his dissatisfaction.
"Myra, don't be so unreasonable. Since when did you become an appraiser?" Lana said. She faked concern, but her words were dripping with sarcasm. Everyone knew of Myra, who was wolfles. Was it the lady standing next to the dark lycan? As soon as they heard her name, the gazes that were filled with surprise earlier were now filled with disdain as they glanced at Myra. Myra couldn't care less about them. She had said whatever she said, and she didn't care what people thought. She only said what she thought was right. Moreover, it was just a passing thought. Whether the man chose to act on it or not, that was up to him. She hadn't forced him to do anything anyway.
When the man saw how people were looking at Myra, his aura turned dangerous. He first glared at Lana, who looked so smug after achieving her goal before his gaze swept over the crowd, making them quiet down. Then, he looked at the obedient girl beside him. His eyes softened a bit before he said
"Then I won't buy it." After saying this, he held Myra's hand and led her somewhere else. Of course, the crowd followed.
Myra was shocked that he followed what she had said. On the other hand; when Lana saw that everyone was leaving, she bought the Stone and followed the crowd. She wanted to see others regret later during the Stone cutting. She couldn't wait to see their twisted expressions. She thought smugly.
As they were walking, Myra suddenly tugged at the man.
"What is it?" The man lowered his head and asked softly. She was too short, so he had to lower himself to her level to listen to what she had to say.
"Can we go over there?" Myra said and pointed at a specific shop
The man followed Myra's gaze and saw a shop in the middle. It seemed so small and crumped. Even the passage was small. The man frowned. He never liked such places. However, looking at the anticipation in the girl's eyes, he couldn't bear to let her go.
"Okay." The man said and led Myra over.
The crowd was dumbfounded when they saw where they were headed. They wondered it the dark lycan had been possessed. Otherwise, why would a man as cold and indifferent as him follow the orders of such a little girl? A wolfless girl at that!
Lana smirked in the crowd. She was looking forward to seeing Myra make a fool of herself. Then, she would be killed by the dark lycan on the spot. Just the thought of it made her feel thrilled. She had been an eyesore in Lana's life for so long. Lana didn't mind if she disappeared from the world.
Myra didn't care about what people thought. She just knew that she was attracted to that shop. It was as if something was pulling and directing her to go over there. She couldn't ignore the impulse. That's why she asked the man to go over with her.
As they were looking at the stones, the man kept staring at her.
"What is it?" Myra didn't feel comfortable being stared at, so she asked.
"I want you to help me choose the stones." The man said seriously and glanced at her. He wanted to see what she would pick in the end.
"But this is so important to you, right?" Myra pursed her lips as she asked this.
"Yes. Very important. " The man nodded his head and said. The stones were really important to him.
"Then just choose yourself." Myra had never chosen any stones before. She wasn't sure she would be able to choose accurately. She didn't want him to lose money in the process either.
"I still insist that you choose them for me." To him, money wasn't a problem. He just wanted to test her skills in this aspect. Myra sighed. As long as he didn't blame her later on. Then, Myra went ahead and started touching stones. The first two, she felt nothing, but on the third stone, she felt a weird warmth the moment she touched it. She wasn't sure what it was, but she put it in the cart that the man was pushing. As if she had caught the hang of it, Myra chose a lot of stones. She had a feeling she would attract unwanted attention, so she mixed a few of the stones that she believed had nothing. Well, she wasn't sure, but she just hoped she wouldn't disappoint the man. He was the only man who stood up for her when she was getting bullied. She didn't take that for granted. At least she needed to repay him for his kindness.
"Let's go." After paying, the man let one of the workers from the shop push the trolley to where the Stone cutting was to take place. Myra nodded and followed him out. Once again, he held her hand as though it was nothing unusual. Myra's lips twitched. What could she say?
Everyone followed the three of them and headed for the stone cutting. Lana was really looking forward to it. People kept pointing at Myra and laughing at her for being so reckless. Otherwise, why would she spend so much money to buy stones that contained no jade inside?
"Some people should know their place." One person commented. Her tone was filled with contempt. Others also nodded to support her statement. They felt that Myra was truly willful. Lana smirked when she heard the negative comments made toward Myra. She was always happy as long as Myra was suffering.
While people stood, the managers saw the dark lycan and his partner and brought two seats for them. They even poured tea for them. Lana gnashed her teeth in hatred when she saw this. What right did Myra have to sit close to the dark lycan and be treated with respect? That spot should have been hers! Her eyes lit up when she thought about how miserable Myra would be later. She would let her enjoy her last moments.
Just then, the stone cutting began. Everyone craned their necks to see what was happening. The first stone took a bit because it was very big. It belonged to the dark lycan.
When people saw how solemn the Stone cutter's face looked, they had a premonition in their hearts. Lana, on the other hand, had a smirk on her lips.
