CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY-SIX

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY-SIX
MELO
Marco pulls me into a hug the second he enters my office. The hug doesn't last longer than a few seconds before he pulls away but I understand what it means. He's happy I came home.
"Welcome home, boss." He says and I nod.
"Thank you. It's good to be home."
"I would have been on the first flight home if I knew that you were coming back home."
"It's fine. You had work to do."
I take a seat and he sits on the chair directly opposite me. "Speaking of work, Marco, how is it that Sarah has more balls and you and Rocco combined?"
He understands what I'm talking about immediately and he leans forward.
"Boss, we didn't…"
"I really don't want to hear why you let that bitch irritate and annoy a wife that I put in your care. When I called you that night, what did I say?"
He clenches his jaw and swallows hard. "You said take care of the business but care of my wife more."
"Is business doing fine?" I ask and he nods.
"So why the fuck was my wife getting assaulted by flower deliveries? Why did it have to take Sarah returning from China to put that bitch in her place?"
"I'm sorry boss. I failed you." He says, looking down.
"Have them get the car ready. We're going for a visit."
"Boss, you just came back. Why not wait until tomorrow? They're not going anywhere."
"If I wait untill tomorrow, I will burn everything to the fucking ground. Let's go now that I'm feeling nice."
He stands to go do as I said and I get ready to go tell Isabella that I have to go out. In the afternoon when I decided that I was going to pay them a visit, I didn't tell her. I should have but I figured it would be best to say something when I'm about to leave.
She's sleeping peacefully on our bed. I climb in with her and lightly tap her to wake her up. She stirs and opens her eyes. When she sees me, she pulls me down and kisses the side of my head.
"Thank God I didn't dream it. You're really here."
"Yes I am, baby. Listen, I have to go somewhere but I promise I'll be back soon."
The sleep clears from her eyes immediately and she sits up.
"What do you mean you're going somewhere? You just got back. You said you were taking today off."
"And I meant it baby, but there's something I have to fix first before I start tomorrow."
"What happened?" She asks, panicked.
"Nothing baby, I want to go over to CeCe's house and make sure this shit ends right now."
"Can't it wait?"
"It really can't. My wife was disrespected in her own home. I can't have that."
She smiles and hugs me. "Alright. Make sure you come back tonight, okay? I really don't want to get a call that you're off somewhere again."
"I promise, baby."
I kiss her cheeks and pull the covers over her shoulder before I go downstairs. The car is ready when I get down but Rocco is in the driver's seat while Marco is in the passenger seat. I don't question why he's here or why he thinks he's coming with us, I just shake my head and get in the car.
The drive is long and easy. CeCe and her father live on the side of town rich people who want to show other people that they're rich, live. The security at the gate recognises Marco and opens the gate. Rocco parks and we all get out and walk into the house. The butler closes the door after we all enter.
"Please wait here." He says, leading us to the large living room. "Mr. Martin will be with you shortly. He's attending to a client in his office."
I nod and walk past him to the office. I have no desire to sit around waiting for whenever Karl Martin decides he wants to be done with his meeting. The butler tries to grab me but Rocco holds him back.
"Don't die for nothing, man." Rocco says and the man stills.
I open the door and Karl looks up from his laptop. He sees me and his eyes and mouth widens in surprise and he quickly slams the laptop shut.
"M-M Mr. Rossi. How great to see you alive and well." He says, standing up to meet me at the door.
He stretches out his hand and I walk pass him to his chair. I look back at him and hold his gaze before I sit on his chair.
"This is not a social visit. I'm here about what happened between your daughter and my wife."
He straightens. "There's no need to come all this way to apologise, Boss. It's women's business. I assure you, I'm not in anyway hurt by what happened."
What a fool. If someone invited my daughter somewhere and beat the shit out of her, spoiled brat or not, this would not be my reaction.
"This isn't an apology visit either. Your daughter will do that tomorrow. Where is she?"
"I don't understand, Mr. Rossi. You wife had a feral woman beat my daughter and she's the one supposed to apologize?"
"Exactly. See, you do understand. Where the fuck is your daughter, Karl?"
He takes a deep breath. "She's in her room. I'll call her to come downstairs."
He makes the call while we watch. Rocco and Marco are standing behind him, looking vicious. Like they eat souls for fun. Soon there's a sound of laughter coming from outside the room before it opens and CeCe comes in. She stops and watches Rocco and Marco in shock. She didn't expect them.
"What do you want? Daddy, why are they here? These men were there when I got assaulted by that…"
She finally notices me and the words die in her mouth. "Capo?" She says tasting the waters.
When I don't reply, she screams "Capo" and tries to hug me. Rocco pulls her back.
"You're really back? I didn't…"
"I'm going to make this quick. Tomorrow morning, you're going to be at my house before 9, begging my wife for forgiveness."
Her face freezes and her brows lift suddenly. "No. They beat me up. I will never do that."
I nod once and before any of them realise it, I shoot Karl in the thigh. CeCe screams in horror and I roll my eyes. Karl is on the floor, crying in pain.
"Don't overreact, I just grazed his thigh. He'll be fine eventually. Now, where were we with that apology?"
"How dare you, Rossi? You will regret this. I'm going to making shipping very uncomfortable for you now."
"Yes, that brings me back to the second reason I'm here. I fucking put you there to make things easier for me, Karl. I'm going to put someone else and then where will you be?"
"You can't." He says.
"Fucking watch me."
I turn to CeCe, who's crying at the sight of her father bleeding on the floor.
"Don't be late."
