Chapter 25

When Roseanne entered the vampire territory, she was shocked.

"What the hell has happened to them?" she asked her wolf.

The vampires had come out of their castles. They were all moving towards Chris’s castle.

It was as if they were not in their senses. Like a horde of zombies, they were moving towards his castle, almost as if they were hypnotized by something.

Roseanne looked at the castle far away.

"Oh, Lili! What have you done? You don't even know it will end up if you take your life as well," she mumbled.

She came down from the mount and shifted back into her wolf form. She started running towards the castle.

She was praying hard that Chris was alright. If he ended up drinking her blood, there would be no way to bring him back.

Suddenly it hit her hard. Alpha Crescent said he found Liliana right after she was born, injured inside a closet.

"What if she was born a few days before?" Roseanne asked her wolf.

"Her mother was still alive when the alpha found her. She died right after handing Liliana to him. It could be possible that the date we were thinking of as her birthday was not the actual date. And she was born before? That would mean that she is already 18 and if Chris loses his control and drinks her blood…" She could not think of it anymore.

It would make him stronger. That would add a thousand more years to his life. But it would also mean that there would be no place for her in his life.

She stopped for a moment. Why was she heading towards the castle to stop it so desperately? She felt that she should let it happen. How could she be that selfish?

She made a decision. She would not stop Chris from drinking Liliana's blood. All she needed to do right then was stop the other vampires from interrupting Chris. If someone other than Chris drank that blood, it would be the end of the world.

Chris would never destroy the wolves or the Academy. The humans, wolves, and the other creatures would be able to survive together. She hurried to the castle.

Liliana's palm was still open in front of his mouth. Chris was biting his lips hard making them bleed, trying not to lose himself.

Suddenly the vampires invaded the castle from different sides. Felix was on the verge of losing his mind. But upon seeing the vampires attacking Chris and Liliana, he gathered himself and started fighting all the vampires.

Liliana was startled. She did not expect her blood would bring out the horde. She quickly fisted her palm trying to hide it from the other vampires.

She could not let random vampires have her blood. The first bite would corrupt her blood. The first bite was the only chance to become immortal.

She wanted someone stronger. Someone like Chris with whom she would be able to reign the world.

The vampires kept coming towards her like leeches. Felix was fighting them as much as he could.

He was begging Chris to drink her blood. But Chris would not give up. He had sworn himself to Roseanne. Drinking Liliana's blood would make him lose his feelings. He could never allow that.

"Damn!" Liliana was losing it. "That guy is so stubborn. At this rate, I will lose my blood to some useless vampire if I keep waiting for him."

Liliana looked at Chris and said, “Guess you don't deserve this blood after all. I need to find someone else."

Liliana tried to get away. But suddenly, someone grabbed her from behind and covered her mouth. The person that took Liliana from the castle was handsome. In a moment, he brought her to an abandoned castle.

"You are now safe here," he said.

Liliana was looking at him suspiciously.

"Who are you?" she asked.

"I am a childhood friend of Chris’s," the guy said and smiled gently. "And by childhood friend, you can guess that I am not talking about just a few years back, right?"

A smirk appeared on Liliana's lips hearing that.

His eyes were glowing. "Come to think of it, I cannot drink this blood, can I?" he asked.

Liliana brought the palm near his lips. His eyes starter to glow more. His breath was getting heavier. He was barely keeping himself in control.

"But you are not 18 yet, are you?" The guy asked, looking at her confused.

Liliana only smirked. The guy lost it and bit her hand.

Chris fell to the ground. He needed blood. The moment Liliana's blood was corrupted all the other vampires lost it. Their throats were burning as well. They needed blood to calm themselves down.

Roseanne came to the castle. She saw Chris kneeling on the ground grabbing his throat. His eyes had turned blood red and they were glowing. He was in pain.

"Chris!" She called out.

She hastily made her way to Chris. Felix was lying on his side almost unconscious.

"What happened?" Roseanne grabbed his face and asked him.

Tears came to her eyes. She had never seen him in so much pain before.

Chris grabbed her shoulders and looked into her eyes. He needed it. His eyes were pleading.

Roseanne knew what he wanted. She looked at the surroundings. But there was no trace of Liliana.

"Her blood is corrupted already, Rose," Chris said in a husky tone. "I refused her blood."

Roseanne could not stop her tears anymore. He had kept his promise. She nodded. She knew what he wanted.

She lifted her hair and exposed her neck and shoulders to him. The fragrance was making Chris go crazy. He pulled Roseanne close to him. He could not stop himself anymore. His teeth pierced deep into Roseanne's neck.

She cried out into pain. But soon their bodies intertwined. Roseanne did not miss her chance. She asked her wolf one last time. Her wolf did not protest.

Chris’s beautiful, soft skin was exposed to her as well. She firmly licked his neck and bit him.

Her wolf growled, “Mine."
