Chapter 107 Untitled Chapter
With all this going on, where on Earth is Hans? Doesn't he know that a demon has attacked the pack again?
“Take me to the company,” I commanded, entering the car.
As soon as I sat down, I shut the door, leaned on the chair, and folded my hands. To be honest, I am so mad at what Elder Ryder did.
How could he even think of something as stupid as that? Doesn't he know the consequences of what his action would bring? Had it been that the demon hadn't killed him, he would have been the one to suffer in the future if Hams decided to turn against our pack. He is so lucky that he died without sending his daughter to the Arkonix pack.
That man was stupid and a fool. He doesn't know that Hams is only looking for an easy way to attack this pack to wipe out all the members. Even if they succeeded in sending his daughter to Hams, that idiot will start planning on ways to get his way inside my pack, and if that happened, Elder Ryder would be his first target. He would kill him because he was the only one who knew a lot of secrets about him.
A few minutes later, we drove into the company. However, I was so surprised that Matilda wasn't outside. Normally, she would have been pacing around, waiting for me to return, and as soon as she saw my car, she would run towards it and fall into my embrace.
It is so surprising that she isn't outside. Perhaps she is inside the office, hiding from what wouldn't attack her.
“Alpha Amelia, you are back.” Thane bowed his head. I was moved to ask him where Matilda was, but I decided to ignore it because she would be in my office. So I headed towards the elevator, entered, pressed the button to the 3rd floor, and the door closed.
Unfortunately, Matilda wasn't inside the office as I had thought. That was confusing. Matilda should have been in this office, probably lying on the sofa, going back and forth, or inside the restroom, but she wasn't in there, and it makes me wonder where she could have gone.
Could it be that she was taken away? Absolutely not. That is impossible. The spell I cast all over the company earlier was to protect them from getting attacked, and if they were attacked, the company building would have been in a mess, and there wouldn't have been anyone outside or inside going about their activities.
Even the glass window wasn't shattered. The door wasn't broken. And there was no scratch on the wall or on the floor. I think Matilda had stepped out. Maybe she is at the packhouse.
My heart plummeted the moment the packhouse came into my mind. Hans is at the packhouse, and if Matilda had gone back there, then they would have crossed paths, and what I am afraid of might happen.
Hans has always tried to make me understand that he has nothing to do with Matilda. And when they are in front of me, he always yells at her or tells her to get away from him. However, behind the curtains, I am a bit sure that he doesn't act that way towards her.
I don't want to believe that Hans is cheating on me with Matilda. No, absolutely not. I don't think so. That would never happen.
“Why don't you go check his office?” Amy finally spoke. At first, I was startled when I heard a voice speaking to me, but then I remembered I have a wolf with whom I communicate. “So you have decided to come out after all.” I scoffed, sitting down on the sofa.
“Yes, I only come out when there is something important, Amelia, and I sense there is something you need to see, which is why I decided to speak to you.”
Something important that I need to see? What on Earth is Amy up to now? I don't want to believe her because the last time I did, I was so embarrassed and humiliated. She lied to me that Matilda and Hans were kissing, which was all a lie.
“Tell me what the important thing is.” I crossed my hands. “You'd better stand up now and get your butt to Hans' office. Whatever it is, you will see it for yourself,” she sneered.
When I asked another question, Amy didn't answer me, and I could hear her mumbling in my mind. I didn't want to heed whatever Amy said, but I decided to just go to the office even though I knew he wouldn't be there.
As I approached his office, I could hear giggling from the office. It became clearer and louder as I approached the door, and when it dawned on me who the voice belonged to, my vision blurred and my heart sank.
“Oh, do not touch me there, Hans.” That was Matilda's. Voice: That definitely is her voice. Even if I wake up in the middle of the night and she speaks, I will definitely recognize that voice.
“Allow me, Matilda. There is no one in this office to stop me from doing what I want with you. You have no idea how much I have been praying in silence for you and me to be alone so we can do the things we have been dreaming about.”
When I heard Hans's voice, my breathing ceased. And it felt like I was being punched in the chest. The gravity of the betrayal made my legs weak so that I couldn't stand on them anymore. I dropped to my knees, clutching my hand to my chest.
Anger started swirling in my head like a tornado. My knees trembled, tears flew down my face, but they didn't stop there.
Matilda then said something that caused my heart to break into pieces. “I can't believe that you never loved Alpha Amelia, Hans. I thought you guys were in love, but now that I have figured out that I am the only one you have your eyes on, then we shall start scheming on the way to get rid of her.”
