Chapter Thirty-one

Pain struck me and my headache kept growing as I opened my eyes, I was still taken, but for how many days? That I didn't know it was obviously more than the stipulated time I wonder what would have happened to Sebastian. " Finally, you're awake." I heard Ayesha say, what was she doing here? I was to hurt to speak "I told you, there was nothing you could do about the inevitable, my wedding with Sebastian was always bound to happen, and it has now I'm the Legal queen of the empire, tell me, what have you been fighting for, if he'll give up on you like this?"Ayesha continued, those words played in my ears like an echo, time was already gone and I had finally lost the bet, the pain that struck me at that moment was more than the one I felt when I got hit by the rod. "Why?" I shouted, "what do you mean why? Obviously, you took my place in his life and I took what was mine in the first place I was destined for greatness, I was destined to play that role but you came on and took everything that belonged to me under my nose do you think I would just be looking at you do that? Obviously I won't." Ayesha said. I shifted and I figured out I was not tied up so I moved a little, "now that you've gotten what you wanted, what do you want from me? Why don't you just let me go?" I said, out of desperation. "You know I can't do that, you're not dumb and I know that. I'll let you go under some conditions." Ayesha said, "what are those?" I asked, "first, you should never be in contact with Sebastian and two, if you want to leave, you'll have to leave this city once and for all." Ayesha replied, and it dawned on me she was going to cut me off from Sebastian for life. What could I do? I was just a weak poor girl, with little influence in life, Sebastian has protected me many times and everytime I knew he would turn up for me, but I knew I was a nuisance in his life, someone who couldn't do anything for herself. "I would accept and go away for life." I replied, and I could see the grin of happiness play on her face, "you made the right choice sissy, I would set you free and obviously I'm a generous fellow, I would get you the passport and some money that'll take you out of the city, so tomorrow morning you'll be free from my clutches." Ayesha said, as she opened the door and left me there. A lot of things ran through my mind there, and I wondered how Sebastian was doing, for him not to have been able to do anything she must have gotten him to make tough decisions like she did to me. But what do I do? I'll have to make things easier for him. I closed my eyes and recollected the times we spent together, the memories we made, the beauty he brought along into my life after saving me from the violence I faced in my life, why should I be the pain to such a lovely man. I was determined to rewrite my story on my own and be what they thought I couldn't be.

It was like in a split second but hours had gone I opened my eyes and I could see the ray of light in the room I was so happy it was morning a new dawn was set and I was about to be vindicated from the life of sadness I brought to the one I loved, I was going to move from a burden to becoming an asset and this was going to become my own journey of self discovery. "You sure seem to be ready to flee, change into this and meet me outside" Ayesha said, dropping a pair of clothes on the floor for me to change into. Dragging myself up I got out of the rag I've been in for several days, not knowing the exact count of the days I've spent away from the outside world. And I got into the comfy clothes she got me. "the tight sizes, you have a good eye." I said, and it was funny to me that I was keeping a sense of humor towards someone who had attempted taking my life severally. "Oh! I see why he's after you." She said, after she brought me out and led me to the car. What does she mean by that I thought, but I could sense jealousy in her words, "get in the car and let's go." Ayesha said, as I moved towards her and got in her car. "Remember the deal and never show your face in this place anymore, Stay away from Sebastian for life and live your life in peace or get close to him and I turn you to pieces." Ayesha continued, and I couldn't even utter a single word. What more does she want I've agreed to her terms and I've agreed to stay in place why is she still threatening me. I thought, but is this really going to be how I won't see Sebastian again? And he really won't come after me? Everything was moving so fast and it was crazy I didn't have time to think anything through, and it was confusing me alot I couldn't think or reason it was too difficult to understand why fate had me handicapped on what I loved, was I meant to fight for it? Or let it go? This was becoming too much for me to bear and I was going to another place but I didn't know exactly where I was going? "Where exactly are we going?" I asked Ayesha and she just smiled and replied "Somewhere far from Sebastian" what next was I to do?
