Epilogue
“Do you think it would better if I put the vase a little to the left or the right?” I questioned holding the vase that had fresh flowers.
“Right,” said Nicole the same time Leo said “left.” I shook my head at them. They never seemed to agree on anything I asked them an opinion on. I was trying to do a slight modification to the place during the lunch break. But these idiots were being difficult with every single thing I asked them to give their opinion on.
I put it on the right side, ignoring Leo's protest that I was favoring Nicole. They made the cutest couple; it was hard to not gush over them every time I saw them together. Leo made Nicole happy like she deserved to be and I was glad that she found the person that loved her with all her flaws and imperfections. They reminded me of a man who once loved me without any precondition, my Killian.
It has nearly been 8 months since I last saw him in person. Ever since he lost his memory, he has been back to where he was, a player. I saw him on magazines, each time with a different woman by his side. It was hard to see him like that. It was hard to imagine that he has completely wiped me out of his memory. He remembered none of what happened between us while the memories were torturing me every waking hour.
When the doctor said his memory loss would be temporary, I thought maybe it would take a week or two before he regained them again but eight months and he still has no clue. I really missed everything about him, his kisses, his touch, and especially his hugs that embraced me in such a circle that protected from me everything.
“Don't you guys have work to do? You guys aren't employees, you are heirs. You should be working your butt off for your company. Why do you always come here?” I questioned them as they were whispering something in each other's ears.
Aren't they just adorable!
“Like you said, we are heirs and, if we're seen out in public, it won't be good to be involved in a scandal before we announce our relationship ourselves,” said Nicole as Leo kept nodding to whatever she was saying.
Gosh, he is so smitten by her.
“So you think my flower shop is some kind of a hiding place?” I asked putting my hands on my waist.
“Okay, okay! I didn't think we would bother you like this, but fine we will leave right now,” said Leo grabbing Nicole's coat from the chair pretending to be angry.
“Bye then, Eli! May your flowers console your lonely heart,” said Nicole putting her hat and sunglasses on and getting into her own car as Leo left on his own.
I named the flower shop after my mom, as I wanted something to give back to her. Even though she has passed away, I was honoring her by fulfilling her childhood dream she couldn't accomplish because she decided to raise me instead. I heard the door open and my brain stopped functioning unable to fathom if it was reality or an illusion.
Killian was standing on the door of my flower shop, approaching me after looking around the flower shop. He looked at me for a few moments which took my breath away, it's been so long since I've seen those blue orbs. now that he was in front of me, even my hands were eager to hug him, but I refrained from doing that.
“What can I help you with, sir? Which flower would you like?” I asked like I would any customer that came into my shop.
He doesn't recognize me.
“I have this woman whom I love so much and I wanted to propose. I heard this was the best flower shop around, so I came here. which flower is best for proposing?” asked Killian staking my heart with his words.
I knew he was dating a new model and he was planning on proposing to her. I was so heartbroken that I barely kept my face straight. He was staring at me expectantly, and I turned around, preparing a bouquet of red roses. The irony I thought, I was helping the love of my life propose to a girl that wasn't me.
“I hope you get rejected by your girl,” I said hoping he gets heartbroken by whoever he was going to propose to.
“Excuse me? Did you say something?” he asked, asking me to repeat what I said before as I kept aggressively preparing the bouquet.
“I said I hope you get rejoiced by her acceptance,” I said handing him the bouquet I've prepared with anger.
“I really hope that happens too,” he said getting past the counter that separated me from a customer.
“What are you doing sir? You're not allowed in here!” I exclaimed my heart about to rip out of my ribcage.
“Killian!” I called out once again trying to halt his predatory steps that I'm too familiar with.
I knew how these steps ended, being pinned between a wall and him but that didn't happen. He knelt before me, making me so nervous, shocked. I felt like I was on cloud nine. I slapped my hands on my mouth out of sheer disbelief at what was happening, a feeling that was familiar to me.
“Eliana Joyce, will you do the honor of tying this player's heart to one woman? Will you marry me, Eliana?” proposed Killian surprising me beyond words.
“..." I hesitated whether I should say it or not," I have a boyfriend, I am sorry,” I told him truthfully, or at least as truthfully as a lying person could.
“But... Leo said–” he looked so clueless and in shock that I burst out laughing, I couldn't keep on pranking him about having a boyfriend that was imaginary.
“I will not only tie your heart to mine, Killian but I will stab any woman that dares to look at you so you better prepare your lawyers. There will be a tough life ahead of you.” I joked kneeling in front of him and hugging him to the point where I felt like I was suffocating him but this was how much I missed him.
After putting the ring he had been holding on my finger, he kissed me lifting me up and putting me on the counter. We sealed our future with a kiss that reciprocated the love we had for one another, the feeling of longing we had for all those times we were separated.
If anybody had told me that I would fall in love with the guy who ordered me like his chauffeur the first time he met me, or called me crazy, or made me search for a nonexistent coffee shop for hours, I would've told them to fuck off.
But he was also the guy that hugged me when I needed an embrace, that defended me in front of his mom, that accepted me the way I was and most of all he was the only guy that made my insides burn for him.
“Now that we are married, where do you wanna go for our honeymoon?” asked Killian, his ocean blue eyes, which took me to places I could only imagine, fixated on me.
“Weslan,” I said with no hesitation as to our honeymoon destination; Weslan was the origin of this relationship.
“Definitely Weslan,” said Killian, agreeing with my suggestion to go to the place that blossomed the little bud of love we had into a big flower.
“I love you, my player,” I confessed hiding my face in the crook of his neck.
“I love you more, my clumsy girl,” said Killian engulfing me in an embrace that I wasn't planning on coming out of soon.
An embrace that I was willing to grow old in.
