Chapter 83 Hours Before Daisy Got Missing

Chapter 83 Hours Before Daisy Got Missing
Hours Before Daisy Got Missing

"Sister Ayla, can the guards not follow us today? I feel scared whenever I see them. They're beginning to affect my dreams." Daisy asked, shooting her lips into a pout as her tiny voice made its way towards Natalya.

They were getting ready to go to the park.

Daisy wasn't happy and cheerful like the first day they had gone to the park.

The bright smile across her face had dwindled.

"You should ignore them, Daisy. They're just there to protect us and make sure nothing goes round. Maybe instead of seeing ten men, I can reduce it to five. That would be much better."

Daisy cast her face to the ground. Frightening emotions standing at the nape of her hair.

She didn't like those men because she remembered them. They were the ones who had kidnapped her sister and forced her to this place.

Even though, she was being treated right by Natalya and Elizaveta she still did not like those guards.

She sniffled, rubbing the back of her hand against her nose, "But I don't like them. They do bad bad things. Why don't we just go with Uncle Dimitri. He's a kind man."

Natalya not being able to say no to Daisy not because she was Isabella's sister but because Daisy was too cute to be denied whatever she wanted.

She was playful, beautiful and always happy. And that's the reason for Natalya's love for Daisy. She was like the sister she never had.

"You know what? We're going to see the Barbie movie again then we go to the park. Sounds amazing right?"

"Yes Yes!!" Daisy jumped on her toes, dangling her arms in the air then pounced on Natalya. "You're my third favourite person, Sister Ayla."

Natalya's brows furrowed, "Third? Who's the second?" She was certain Isabella was the first and knew from Dmitri that they had no mother and father, well... Head blown off by Sergi under Nikolai's unders.

Remembering that she could no longer see her friend, Daisy's expression turned downcast, "My second favourite person in the world is Serah," she paused swallowing hard as if trying to force out her next syllable, "she's my sister's best friend. I miss her so much."

Daisy's eyes began turning misty. She began to remember how she always slept in Serah's place when her sister left at night to her workplace.

Serah wasn't always strict with her. She lets her play, watch movies until late night and even buys her pretty toys.

"Oh" Natalya's pursed her lips, "well, don't be sad, Daisy. I'm sure you will be able to see your friend soon. I'm here too, so don't be sad, Okay. Remember you spoke to your sister two days ago. She's probably coming back soon."

She gently wiped a stray tear from Daisy's cheek. "Don't cry. You know your Barbie wouldn't want to see you sad."

As soon as Barbie was mentioned, Daisy’s tearful face completely transformed.

She let out a tiny, breathless gasp, her wide eyes instantly lighting up as she nodded her head eagerly, her shoulders bouncing with excitement.

"And I promise. No guards only your Uncle Dimitri, okay? If you cry again then I will make the guards twenty." Natalya made a cute scary face, folding her knuckles to exaggerate.

"I won't cry anymore, sister Ayla. Look! See? I'm happy!" She offered Natalya a bright, toothy grin.

"Good girl." She ruffled Daisy's head.

It took a lot of convincing for Natalya to convince Dmitri to discard the guards and that only him should follow.

He refused vehemently at first. Nikolai was going to kill him if he found out. No one was let out of the mansion without enough security guards for protection.

But when Natalya blinked her eyelashes unabashedly and pouted her soft pink lips, Dmitri threw a harsh breath through clenched teeth and conceded.

"Fine. But don't wander off without my permission. Always stay close to me."

Dmitri was huge enough to protect them, intensely huge that his muscles could be in pairs with Nikolai's.

And certainly, he's not Nikolai's top enforcer because he had huge muscles but because he was a fighter. A reckless and ruthless fighter. A cold-blooded murderer who would kill anyone at his boss's order.

Hours later, they had finished watching the Barbie movie and were now heading to the park since it was close to the theatre.

Daisy and Natalya held hands together while holding a pink cotton candy on the free one.

Daisy bounced on her toes moving faster than Natalya because of her little hops and Natalya could only jog shyly to meet up.

Despite that, Dmitri easily kept up because of his long legs. His eyes stayed glued on an adult's version of long black hair that bounced seductively above her waist.

He tore his gaze immediately. She was his Miss. He shouldn't be staring at her like that.

They finally made it to the park.

Daisy ran straight towards the swing, Natalya following closely behind her.

Daisy giggled like the little girl she was. Chewing on her cotton candy while Natalya began swinging Daisy back and forth.

Dmitri stood a few feet away, keeping his eyes on them.

Suddenly, the heavy vibration of his phone buzzed in his pocket. Dmitri pulled it out.

When he looked down at the screen,

it was Nikolai.

Knowing he couldn't ignore his boss, Dmitri stepped a few paces back toward a tree to take the call.

He needed just one minute of silence to talk, so he turned his back to the park, focusing entirely on the phone.

A few seconds into the call, Dmitri didn't realize what had happened.

A strange van had pulled up at the park.

Men in black or rather boys pulled up with a ski mask, using guns to abduct children

Everybody began running helter-skelter. People started shouting and screaming. The entire park turned into pure chaos in a matter of seconds.

Daisy panicked. The swing iron lost its balance and she fell, her knees scraping the ground.

"Omg omg! Daisy!" Natalya screamed rushing towards Daisy aid.

She turned looking for Dmitri, her heart pounding hard in her chest, fear igniting in her guts.

Children were running away. Screams were tearing the whole park upside down.

She didn't wait for Dmitri to come recuse them. She picked up Daisy and ran.

Ran like she was being chased by wild dogs.

Then two gunshots resounded in the park.

Wtf!

Dmitri had finished the call with his boss.

He had heard the gunshots.

He turned back, his instincts searching every nook and cranny for the two figures he was supposed to protect.

It wasn't his concern to protect anyone else. So if children, ladies or anybody at all fell in front of him, he didn't give a damn!

He flicked his gaze on the swings.

The swing was still rocking back and forth, but was now empty.

His eyes scanned the crowd wildly, looking for a flash of Natalya’s long black hair or Daisy’s bright smile. But there was nothing.

His heart dipped into the deepest part of his stomach.

For the
first time since he could remember, panic set in.

They were gone.

Daisy and Natalya were completely missing.
