Chapter 84 Daisy Is Found
Chapter 84 Daisy Is Found
"I'm sorry sister, Ayla. I'm sorry sister Ayla, I'm sorry sister Ayla." Daisy kept on repeating like a mantra. Her face stained with thick hot tears that left her snorting.
"Shhh, don't cry Daisy it's not your fault, okay?" Natalya wiped off the tears from Daisy's now rosy cheeks but they kept on falling.
She intervened her fingers, her face cast downwards and her emotions spilled out.
It was her fault. She knew this.
If she hadn't insisted that the guards didn't follow them then maybe they wouldn't be lost in this unknown place.
It was all her fault.
Sister Ayala had told her to stop crying but she couldn't, because of her, sister Ayala was tensing up.
Her tears spilled faster now, raining down her cheeks.
Natalya swallowed a thick clump in her throat.
Initially she wanted to cry too because right now she didn't know where she had dragged themselves to.
Her instinct was just to get away from the dangerous park.
Even her purse had slid from shoulders. She wasn't with her phone now.
She held her tears. She was the adult here. Daisy was crying, she couldn't be crying too.
Maybe she could have tried finding Dmitri First. But the park was in serious shambles. If she wasn't mistaken, those two gunshots were for someone or rather they had definitely injured someone.
Right now, they were in a local diner's booth. Location unknown.
Natalya hardly stepped out of the mansion. If she did, she had never visited a place so local like where they were hiding now.
She wasn't judging, just that she didn't know where this diner was located, she knew the name only.
Fatima's Diner.
Again, she bobbed her throat, allowing Daisy to rest her head on her lap while she consoled her.
She must have been shaken. She was.
And right now she was still blaming herself no matter how Natalya told her she wasn't at fault.
Time stretched for hours and they were still at the diner.
The closing time was ten in the night.
She didn't have any money in her pockets except for a few dollars.
Daisy had stopped crying but was still sneezing.
She ordered food for the Daisy. It wasn't much. Just some loaded fries, waffles and water.
She didn't order anything for herself because the money wasn't enough.
Natalya took only water for herself.
When another hour passed, tension coiled itself deep inside Natalya's gut.
It was almost ten in the night.
Daisy had fallen asleep on her lap.
She knew she shouldn't have done this but it was the only way.
So she set Daisy aside and walked up to a server at the diner.
She pleaded to use the server's phone which the person agreed.
That was so fucking easy!
She dialed Dimitri's phone number, catching control of her voice, the call connected after only one ring.
"Where the fuck are you?!" Dimitri's angry tone rang out through the speakers.
Annoyed she spat, "Don't you dare shout at me! And I'm at Fatima's Diner." The last sentence was spoken softly contrary to the first.
He had no rights shouting at her.
"Good. Stay still I will be there within a few minutes."
Natalya ended the call, thanked the server and slid back into her booth.
Inside an Audi Nuvolari, Dmitri was already on his way to the local diner when he got Natalya's call.
He heaved a sigh of relief that she was already on the right path.
Ma Elizaveta when she found out that her daughter and Daisy were missing she argued with Dmitri until he let her into the car.
Just when the car was parked, Ma Elizaveta got out and went into the diner but she didn't have to reach as the diner was already locked and both girls were sitting outside the diner.
Dmitri waited because he was getting a call from his boss.
"You better have a fucking good explanation on why Daisy and Natalya are missing! Oh no! No explanation needed. I might just use you to quench my bloodlust instead. What the fuck is wrong with you?! You were supposed to protect them at all times. What were the guards doing?"
Dmitri's face hardened. Not because of what his boss had said but because he had let Natalya control him somehow.
Only Nikolai was supposed to be able to do that! No one else.
Instead of giving much details, he answered flatly, "They've been found. They're okay. No one is hurt."
"Good." Then the call disconnected.
This was almost twelve midnight.
He got out of the car and attended to the Misses of the house
Back at where Nikolai was momentarily stopped from killing the second person, he had instantly called Dimitri because that was his job.
Being an enforcer and a protector.
Wiping a sweat from his forehead, his anxious skin had calmed a bit.
But he jaw clenched hard. Very hard that the muscles were almost bursting out.
Isabella wanted to leave?
Not when he was still alive. Not possible.
Eyeing the men who were quivering on their seat, Nikolai's blood lust was hardly satisfied.
But then, he let out a harsh, gravelly breath and stormed out of the room, heading to his mansion.
He was angry. Madly furious when he saw Isabella trying to climb over the wall.
Anger bubbled inside his chest but he reigned it in trying to be calm because if he didn't, with his bloodlust barely quenched he might do something he wouldn't like.
He dragged her down even while she wriggled and thrashed against him.
He held her tighter and closer to his body until he reached the foyer of the mansion.
He knew the next thing he should have done: telling her that her sister was safe and almost home.
But as soon as she turned and her glossy reddened eyes stared at him with envy, anger warred against her chest.
She didn't think, she acted. Raising her palms and striking Nikolai's cheeks hard.
"You promised, Nikolai. You promised—"
She was instantly pushed forcefully against a pillar, Nikolai's large hands wrapped around her neck tightly, knocking her wind pipe out.
"How dare you?!" His voice came out like raw venom. Not dipped in honey or coiled stylishly.
All he could see was red. He wanted to kill. He needed to spill blood.
And now he thought, why don't he make a mess of hers?
Isabella snorted, rolling her eyes at her.
So much for a man who gave his words. Turns out they're as empty as his head.
She shouldn't have bent and become submissive to Nikolai.
Samuel was gone because of her, now Daisy too?!
She shook her head, nails clawing against Nikolai's arms trying to force even a shaky breath from her lungs but everything she did seemed futile.
Then she heard it... Soft and mellifluous voice of Daisy.
"Sister Bella..."
She whipped her head instantly, there Daisy stood, beside Natalya. Face red, eyes drowsy with tears.
She jerked her head back at Nikolai. Angry and furious.
She was ready to speak her mind harshly but then—
Nikolai released her neck, wrapping his hand around her wrist instead, dragging her up the stairs.
