A Storm Inside

Ivy's POV

My heart thumping from the heat of rage that blazed through me I stormed into my room. My nails sunk into my palms as my fists clenched so tightly but I hardly noticed the sting. The sound was violent and sharp as the door behind me slammed with such force that it rattled the walls.

Emerald dared to stand her ground against me and I could still hear her voice echoing in my head. She had no right to speak to me in that manner. She has no right to assume that she can just walk right in and destroy everything I've worked so hard to make.

The familiar burning desire to lash out and destroy erupted inside me my wolf. My eyes flickered, and I could sense them changing, becoming the same irate blue that always marked the impending eruption of my temper. It was more than a flicker.

It was full-blown as my rage inside of me grew like a storm my whole vision changed. I was unable to think clearly. Every time I thought about her Emerald and the way she had dared to talk to me my blood boiled. I could still hear her voice so innocent and self-assured as if she were untouchable.

I tossed a chair across the room and I heard the satisfying splintering sound as it hit the wall. I was unconcerned. Nothing was important to me anymore. I wanted her to share my emotions. I wanted her to know what happens when you confront someone like me.

She thinks she can just waltz in here, I whispered to myself as I paced the room, the words creeping out of my mouth in a savage whisper. As if it could sense the rage inside me, my wolf let out a low growl in my chest, and I could feel its energy circling around me, getting stronger every second.

I didn't like her. I detested every aspect of her. The way her naive little face acted as though she belonged here. As if she were more than a mere expectant mother. She believed she was able to take what was mine. She believed she could enter my life and destroy everything I had fought for and worked so hard to achieve.

Even though my bones ached from the sound of my fist hitting the vanity I continued. I simply continued to move shoving items off the counter and throwing things as if they were inconsequential. Like my broken thoughts, each piece of glass broke and fell all over the floor.

I couldn't recall ever feeling so enraged. This has gotten out of hand. I had the feeling that everything was boiling and about to explode inside of me. However, Emerald wasn't the only person who had offended me. No—it was more complicated than that. Ryker.

A long time ago that young boy. I used to terrify him. He had a sense of place once. At this point, he was confronting me. Attempting to be mature. Attempting to convince me that he was capable of keeping that girl safe. His sly smile and the haughty expression he had given me earlier were still visible.

I could feel my wolf fury growing. Who did he think he was? Did he think he could make fun of me or joke about me? I felt sick to my stomach at the thought of him making fun of me. It had always been me who was in charge.

People always feared them. At one point, I could do anything I wanted because Ryker, that pitiful little idiot,t, was so afraid of me. I could control him and get him to do things he wouldn't even be aware of. And now? He assumed we were friends and believed he could just laugh it off?

My fists clenched at my sides, my breath quickened, and I began pacing once more as the anger grew hotter in my chest. He would learn a lesson from me. I would remind him of who I was and show him how insignificant he was in comparison to me. I'd make him fear me once more. What about Emerald?

Well, I would hold her accountable. She was a bothersome little girl who had no idea what she was getting herself into and she was nothing more than that. Her gentle, innocent words, trying to sound brave, were already playing in my mind. However, I could see it in her eyes. She was afraid.

Under the mask of strength, she attempted to project, she was trembling. She merely pretended to be tough in an attempt to establish her belonging. I would shatter her. gradually. Piece by piece. I would begin with her thoughts. I would challenge all of her preconceived notions. I would cause her to question herself and become frightened to look at me.

I would then take everything else once she was only a shadow of the girl she once was. Everything important to her. She would be ruined by me. I'd cause her to lose everything. I felt as though my anger was suffocating me pressing down on my chest.

My breathing was irregular and shallow as if I was having trouble breathing. I wanted nothing more than to let the beast loose and let it rip through the world, leaving nothing but devastation in its wake while my wolf's growls rumbled low in my throat. It had all gone so smoothly.

I had everything planned out and under control when Emerald had to arrive. It had to be ruined by her. However, I refused to allow her. No, I would not give this to her. I refused to allow her to destroy all that I had fought for.

My vision blurred as the heat of my rage swept through me causing my fingers to clench into fists once more and my nails to dig into my skin. She would be defeated by me. I would ensure that she was aware of the precise person in charge.

Ivy was who I was. I was untouchable. And I would keep going until she was only a faint memory. I paused my pacing and gazed at my image in the mirror. My eyes were glowing with that dangerous intensity and the blue had darkened.

My lips were pulled back, my teeth were exposed, and my face was twisted in a snarl. Even though I hardly recognized myself, I didn't care.

I hissed her name in a low, poisonous voice. “Emerald…”

When she realized she had erred by ever crossing me I was eager to watch her fall apart and see the terror in her eyes. The shadows of the trees stretched out before me like menacing hands as I made my way to the window and looked out into the gray night.

The world seemed to be enclosing me. I didn't care, though. I embraced it. This was who I was. I had turned into this. And I intended to make sure Emerald understood the consequences of obstructing my path.

I'd show her what happens if you challenge me tomorrow. Nobody would stop me either.
