Chapter 11 An Important Person

Chapter 11 An Important Person
"Fuck, bro," Knox said, laughing. He looked both worried, excited and proud. I wondered if Valerian had liked him back then. What sort of relationship they had.

"I have never been so fucking scared in my life, I think I almost peed myself."

I broke into a laugh, but winced as I grabbed my forehead.

"That has to hurt," he said, laughing. "Let me help you with your stuff."

I shook my head, then grabbed his hand in the manliest way that I could.

"Thank you so much, Knox. I think I would be dead if it wasn't for you."

He laughed, then tapped my shoulder roughly. "We are still having dinner in an hour. Let me hrab a first aid, and I will help with your bag, okay? You ain't tricking that bag like you tricked Eros."

I broke into a laugh, and he turned away, then ran out of the library. I took a deep breath, then finished packing up my bags and locking it all.

A knock suddenly came on the door, and I smiled, expecting Knox.

"Knox, I..." my voice died in my throat as Eugene slowly walked in, a small smile playing on his lips. "Uhm... Alpha."

He smiled, then leaned on the wall. "That was impressive, Kian. I won't lie, I wasn't expecting much from such an..."

"Effeminate dude?"

"That's one way to put it," he said with a laugh. "I have never seen Eros so humbled."

I bit down on my lips. "I didn't do much."

He gave a small nod. "Still. I will see you around."

I watched his back as he walked away. Something about him simply didn't sit right with me. He seemed to have the surface level kindness. The sort of kindness that you wouldn't want to dog deeper into.

"What's up?" Knox yelled as he barged through the door. He had changed into a pair of shorts and black hoodie, and was carrying a first aid box. "Stay still."

I immediately nodded, and he started to open the box. My eyes closed as I felt him get a piece cotton wool ready.

"Kian."

My eyes flew open, and Eros was now by the door, followed by the cold, aloof one, Kyran. He looked just as unimpressed by everything as Alpha Eros, and they seemed to have more of a solidarity between them than with the remaining two.

"You have three seconds," Alpha Eros said simply, before he turned away, with Kyran immediately leaving too.

I turned to Knox, who immediately waved me away. I grabbed my bag and immediately followed them, my feet trying their hardest to match. They were so much taller and bigger than me, that one step was equal to three of mine.

By the time we came to a stop in front of a rather large door, much larger than the rest, I was out of breath.

"Will you be okay?" Kyran asked, his voice low as he watched Alpha Eros.

Alpha Eros nodded slowly. "Let's get a drink later."

Kyran simply nodded, then walked away, slightly brushing my shoulder as he walked past. I gulped a little, my chest heaving, but I held my bag tight.

I worked hard for this room. The large bump in my forehead was proof. I couldn't back out now.

The door finally opened, and Eros stepped in. I followed, my feet dragging across the cold mahogany floor, my lips parting as I took the space in.

It wasn't a room. It wad a whole house. It looked like I was back outside in one of the most prestigious houses, training their cubs and realizing just how little I meant to society.

My bag slipped out of my hand as I took the place in, almost forgetting that I was now essentially trapped with the most dangerous person in this place.

I turned around and suddenly bumped into Alpha Eros' chest. I gave a small yelp as I moved away, my eyes wide.

His eyes held mine like I was some kind of alien, his brows furrowed as he took me in.

"I..." I started to say. "I... thank you for taking me in."

He turned away without a word, and I followed, my eyes wandering around the house. It had glass windows that probably overlooked the pack. My eyes fell on a large painting of Eros hanging right above the fireplace.

It was in black and white, and it mostly showed his eyes. They were dark, intense, his hair falling across his forehead and covering a bit of his right eye.

I held my breath as my eyes fell on the necklace he was wearing. It was the necklace I had on me. The necklace I found with Valerian.

I turned to him. He had his back to me as he walked down the hallway and stopped in front of a room.

He turned to me, and I swallowed hard.

Did you kill my brother? Are you really my mate? Do you really not know anything?

All these questions burned on my tongue, but I couldn't say it. I couldn't bring myself to say it.

"This..." He said slowly. "This will be your room."

He was pointing towards a closed room on the right. The only other room in the place was right opposite, and I knew it would be his.

"Thank you," I said, then grabbed my bag and started to walk towards the room.

"No matter what you do," he continued. "Don't you dare... don't you dare touch a thing in there. Don't you dare change the way that room is."

I turned to the door, then back to him. "Why? Was someone important in there?"

He met my eyes before he turned fully to me. I took a step back, but he soon covered it, till I was resting back on the door, my chest heaving.

"Yes," he said, his voice low. "And the only reason I didn't beat you to death earlier... is because you look too much like him."
