Chapter 101 Chapter 101

Chapter 101 Chapter 101
Elorai.

I glance at her, a tiny smile blooming on my face. “Good morning to you too, Lauren,” I greet as she walks toward me, staring at me through the mirror.

“Mmm... something about you looks different. What is it?”

“There's nothing...” I begin, chuckling. “But, if you must know... I have an update for you.”

She raises a brow, then immediately lowers herself next to me. “What is it? Spill.”

I smile, my cheeks reddening as I remember the conversation with Lucas. “Last night I spent the night in Lucas’ room. Actually, I spent the night with all three of them, and Lucas asked me if I would like to be bonded with all three of them.”

I see the exact moment my words click. She gasps, rearing back, her pupils wider than saucers.

“Bonding?! You have got to be kidding me!” she shrieks, and I giggle, excited all over again.

Placing the pheromone blockers on the table, she turns to me, her eyes still wide with disbelief. “So... what did you say?”

“I told him I'll have to think about it. I've only heard from Lucas so far. I have no idea what Ronan or Knox think about it yet. But yeah... it was pretty surprising last night.”

“Aww... I'm so happy for you. To think that yesterday you were worrying that your feelings for them would go unnoticed, and then he pops up with that question. You must be over the moon.”

“I wish I was. I still don't know if they're in love with me,” I confess with a sigh, feeling doubt creep up on me once more.

“Hey... no negative thoughts now. You've just heard one of the best things. Revel in it for the moment, okay? Now aside from that, what if they all feel the same way toward you? What if they all want to be bonded with you? What do you do then?”

I look at her, my voice filled with hope and excitement. “If they all feel the same way, who am I to say no? Of course I'm going to agree to it. I want to be with them just as much.”

“Now, that's the spirit,” Lauren says, patting me on the shoulders. “You just need to wait for them to return and fess up, and then you'll know where you stand. Don't overthink this, okay?”

“Okay...” I answer, nodding.

She smiles at me. “That's my girl. Now let's use these blockers before we step out of the room,” she says, and I giggle, stretching out my hands while she prepares the syringe.

Lucas.

I'm with the rest, listening to them as they discuss the werewolf council's push for us to get mates and the ultimatum they have imposed on us.

“That's the most fucked-up news I've ever heard. Who the hell do they think they are to tell us what to do?” Knox grumbles under his breath.

Ronan's jaw is tight as he stares at something unseen on the ground.

An exhausted breath leaves my lips, and I rub my forehead, feeling a headache tug behind my eyes.

“What about Elorai? Can't we be with her instead?” Knox asks as he glances at me, and I shrug.

“The issue of her nature might be a cause of concern...” I mutter.

He furrows his brow. “Her nature? Isn't she just a bit altered? She's still very much a werewolf omega. She just might not have a wolf. That still makes her compatible.”

“For the most part, yes.”

“What about offspring?” Ronan speaks up, finally glancing at us. “What if, due to what she endured in the facility, she's incapable of getting pregnant and giving birth?”

I groan, rolling my eyes. That's a direction I hadn't thought about.

Knox frowns, already displeased. “I do not like the way we're discussing this.”

I shrug, clearing my throat. “Anyway, I already told Elorai about our intentions to bond with her. So if you're interested, you might want to speak with her,” I announce, leaning back and crossing my arms.

They all turn toward me, eyes narrowed.

“When did you have this discussion?”

“Last night. While you two were sleeping.”

“You jerk,” Knox curses at me.

I make a sound that's a cross between a chuckle and a scoff.

A tense silence settles for a heartbeat before Ronan speaks up again. “Aren't there things we need to confirm first before we move forward with this?”

“Lauren should prove useful in that department. It's why we have her, no?”

“Oh...” Knox trails off, eyes widening. “Makes sense.”

“With her permission, she could study Elorai, find out if she'll be truly compatible, and then we move on with the next steps. Whatever it is we do, we need to make sure we get the werewolf council off our backs and keep our sovereignty.”

We all glance at each other, giving subtle nods.

Seems like we've reached an agreement.

“Now that we have a plan, let's get on with it.”
