Chapter 19

Chloe was impressed with the intelligence of this human girl. Lisa was able to notice those details which she was hiding deliberately.

“No, he refused to announce that I am his mate.”

“Did you reject him?”

Here came another important question.

“No, I didn’t get a chance to meet him again.”

Chloe’s palms were sweaty, her heart thumped with the sudden onslaught hurled at her. Lisa observed her with an intense gaze for a while and then retreated in to her scared, shy self.

“I'm not too savvy with werewolf’s traditions as I was born in a breeding camp, but Vampire lords don’t like married women. You still belong to your first mate, may be that’s why the Royal Lord rejected you.”

Well, that was a brand-new data for Chloe, who was amazed at Lisa’s knowledge. Obviously, she was stating facts, which mate would like a woman who was still paired with her previous soulmate?

With her new-found enthusiasm, Chloe planned.

“Then it’s final, Lisa! I will go to the Crystal Pack first and will reject Alpha Henry, severing the bond between us. Then I will find Edith, he will definitely accept me this time. I am such a fool, Lisa. Thanks for your advice.”

Lisa was happy to see her elation, but their happiness was short-lived. Chloe heard thunderous growls from mind-mind-link, she attached Lisa’s leash, and they dashed out towards Alpha Lawrence’s office. Two hot headed Alphas were arguing with each other and unfortunately, the bone of contention was Chloe.

“I said she is my Pack member, I will take her with me.”

“Chloe spent nineteen years in this Pack, I am her foster dad and Alpha too. She will stay here.”

“Her wolf responds to me, she is my responsibility.”

“You failed to help your only Pack member when she was in danger. Your relative rejected her brutally and your father called me that whether I was interested in taking her back or not. If I didn’t say ‘yes’, Allen Ellsworth would have sold her to the breeder camp.”

Jason growled and grabbed Alpha Lawrence’s neck.

“Don’t spit nonsense about my dad. You are the incompetent one who didn’t send her with her first mate. I am on my duty to settle her with her soulmate.”

Although Alpha Lawrence was a middle-aged man, but his wolf came forward to defend him, and he jerked Jason away.

“What soulmate? The one who sent written rejection letter way before Chloe could come back here? And for her first chance mate, I have contacted Alpha Henry, he will be here any minute. So, you can get hell out of my territory. I know how to take care of my Pack members.”

Chloe placed her hand on her mouth to stop her screams.

“Alpha Henry is coming for her!”

This was like a death sentence for Chloe. She didn’t want to go with that bastard who left her hanging in the middle of nowhere, tormenting her with his unending hunger for sex intentionally.

He knew his rejection could free her, but still that stone-hearted man chose to torture her with pain and agony.

“Who told them about Alpha Henry?”

Lulu’s panicked voice came out of nowhere, but her point was valid.

“I didn’t mention to anyone about Alpha Henry as he hushed me with his Alpha command, how did you find out, Alpha?”

Chloe turned towards hyperactive Alpha Lawrence, whose face was red with fury, but this question caught him off guard. The whole room fell in to complete silence, waiting for his answer.

“Alpha Henry called me about you, dear. He told me that how he was sad to leave you before. His wolf is heartbroken, yearning for his mate. He wants to have a future with you, Chloe. Your own home and family with your fated mate, isn’t this the one you always dream about?”

Chloe was impressed with Alpha’s diplomacy and experience that how quickly he was able to re-collect his thoughts.

“What a sly fox he is, black mailing us emotionally.”

Lulu wasn’t effected a bit, so Chloe spoke in a firm tone, “When will Alpha Henry come?”

“No!”

Jason begged through mind-link.

“Please, consider your decision, Wolfe! We are friends.”

She didn’t reply to him and raised her head to face Alpha Lawrence, who was glistening with an unadulterated joy.

“Ashwin (Alpha Lawrence’s Beta) just informed me that Alpha Henry has entered the Pack’s ground.”

“I will go to welcome him!”

Chloe turned and smiled at Lisa, who got her hint and showed her a ‘thumbs up’ sign.

Alpha Lawrence held her hand and went outside. Soon, Alpha Henry’s black Mercedes arrived at the Pack house. As Alpha Henry’s brawls with different Packs made him an infamous big bad Alpha, Pack members gathered to know about his surprise visit.

“Welcome Alpha Henry, you finally took some time for us.”

Alpha Henry’s dominating aura was exuding electric rays, overpowering Alpha Lawrence and hybrid Alpha Jason. He ignored everyone and sneered at William.

“So, this baby King is here too! What an inconvenience!”

His taunt amused the whole crowd. They whistled and hooted at William, who was embarrassed to death.

Freya and Jason placed their hands on his shoulder and hissed at the bully crowd.

“At least, this King has won his subject’s hearts, ruling without bloodshed and trickery.”

Well, that was a slap on Alpha Henry’s face, who made everyone’s life hell with his vicious methods. He neglected Jason like he was a nobody and stalked towards Chloe.

“I am here to take you to your Pack, Chloe! Let’s leave the past behind and start fresh. My pack is waiting for their Luna.”

His soft, loving voice reminded her of that night, when he promised to announce her as his soulmate in the morning. How foolish she was to believe that an Alpha will accept a Wolf-less omega!

“Although I have my wolf now, but I can’t shift. Is this sufficient for you, Alpha? And what about your chosen mate? Is she happy with your decision of a polygamous relationship?”

Chloe stated her reservations in a professional tone, giving him a shock.

“Why would she mind you, Chloe? You are my fated mate, Luna of my Pack. I don’t care whether you shift or not, I want you, my mate.”

In this dire situation, his wolf came out to assist him. He held her hands while speaking in an earnest tone.

Their physical contact ignited sparks over her skin, Chloe was submerged in the dazzling scent of musk (Alpha Henry’s scent) which was intensified due to his arousal.

His wolf was on edge, his hormonal rush blinding him to accept any term for her approval. Chloe was dazed in this hypnotism while he was proceeding with his courting plan.

“I regretted every second without you. At that time, I was afraid of my Pack, power and title blinded me that I thought a strong she-wolf can stand by my side. I was so wrong, Chloe. Only you are worthy to be my Luna.”

“Liar!”

Jason growled through mind-link.

“My sire just informed me that his chosen mate can’t bear him a child. His three sons died in premature deliveries.”

Chloe snapped out from Alpha Henry’s magic and asked him, looking directly into his eyes.

“What have you planned for me after a male heir? Killing me or rejecting me?”

Alpha Henry was taken back at by Chloe’s query. The whole crowd fell silent with her unexpected question.

“I, me …..”

Despite being a cunning-minded ruler, he was unable to utter a single line of other fake promises.

“I, Chloe Parker, of Alpha Jason Ellsworth’s Pack, rejects you, Alpha Henry Jackson, as my mate and my Alpha. I prefer to die rather than living with you even for a second.”
