Chapter 103

Chapter 103

As they looked around, they were shocked to see that the car they had parked just moments ago was no longer there, causing them to come to an abrupt halt.

Adelmo couldn't help but think to himself, "Wow, it seems like my own cousin has taken off with our rental car."

Lana, feeling a sense of panic, breaks the silence and asks Adelmo, "So, what do we do now that our car has disappeared?"

Adelmo, feeling uncertain, replies, "I'm not really sure."

Suddenly, Adelmo's attention is drawn to the parking spots, each of them labeled with room numbers. It dawns on him that the very spot where their car used to be parked is now occupied by another vehicle, the same spot where just the other day they had discovered lifeless bodies in one of the rooms.

Realizing that there might be a connection, Adelmo quickly formulates a plan and shares it with Lana, saying, "Wait here, I'll be right back."

Adelmo hurried back inside the building, his heart racing with worry.

He approached the nearest person and inquired, "Are these parking spots connected to the room numbers?"

The individual nodded and replied, "Yes, they are. Why do you ask?"

Adelmo took a deep breath before revealing, "My car was stolen by my own cousin, of all people. I then noticed a vehicle parked in a spot adjacent to where the deceased individuals were found near my own car."

The person's eyes widened in shock as they listened to Adelmo's story.

They responded, "Yes, the authorities have been overwhelmed with various incidents lately, so they haven't had the chance to investigate thoroughly. What's on your mind?"

Adelmo hesitated before continuing, "I was thinking, since my cousin took my car, could I possibly borrow the one parked there now, considering its owners are no longer alive?"

The individual hesitated for a moment, contemplating Adelmo's request.

Finally, they said, "I can't officially condone it, but who's to say anyone will notice if you take it? You seem to be making more of an effort to help out around here than the police have been lately."

With a nod of approval, Adelmo thanked the person and headed towards the vacant car, hoping to use it to track down his own stolen vehicle.

As Adelmo approaches the front desk, the person behind it swiftly tosses the keys in his direction. Adelmo's reflexes kick in and he skillfully catches the keys, a grateful smile spreading across his face.

"Thanks!" he exclaims, his excitement palpable.

With a sense of urgency, he heads towards the exit, eager to embark on their next adventure.

Sierra, sensing Adelmo's enthusiasm, follows closely behind him as they make their way towards the car. Adelmo swiftly presses the unlock button, causing the car to emit a satisfying beep. The doors unlock, inviting them to step inside. Sierra's anticipation grows, but as she approaches the vehicle, she notices Lana's sudden halt and the peculiar expression on her face.

Lana's eyes widen in disbelief as she confronts Adelmo, her voice tinged with concern.

"How did you manage to get another car so quickly? I hope you're not planning to steal it," she says, her moral compass guiding her words.

Adelmo, meeting her gaze with a mischievous smile, reassures her with a playful tone.

"Don't worry, babe. You're not the one stealing it," he teases, causing Lana's surprise to deepen.

However, before she can fully process his words, Adelmo bursts into laughter, revealing that it was all just a joke.

"No, no, I'm just kidding! The guy at the front desk gave me the keys.

Let's hit the road, my love," he says, his laughter contagious and their adventure ready to unfold.

Lana let out a sigh of relief as she finally heard the truth. With a newfound sense of calm, she made her way towards the car, beckoning for the others to follow suit. Adelmo, always the reliable one, started up the car and they embarked on their journey towards Werner-von-Siemens. As they drove, Lana couldn't help but feel a mix of anticipation and nervousness, unsure of what awaited them at their destination.

Meanwhile, Sierra, ever vigilant, scanned the surroundings, her eyes darting from left to right. She was on a mission to spot any lingering zombies that might pose a threat. However, to her surprise, there was not a single undead creature in sight.

Perplexed, she turned to Lana and Adelmo, her voice filled with curiosity.

"Guys, I've been keeping an eye out, but I haven't seen a single one of those brain-munchers. What gives?"

Adelmo, always quick with a witty response, chimed in, his voice laced with a hint of humor.

"Well, my dear Sierra, it seems that either the good people of this town have been busy exterminating the zombies or those pesky creatures have found themselves a cozy hiding spot. Perhaps they've taken a liking to the shadows, where they can't move an inch. Who knows? Maybe they're just waiting for the perfect moment to surprise us!"

The group shared a nervous chuckle, unsure of what lay ahead in their zombie-free journey.

As they pulled up to the building, Adelmo and Lana noticed a group of people dragging in a live zombie.

Adelmo, feeling confused, turned to Lana and asked, "Weren't the zombies being dragged into the building supposed to be dead?"

Lana paused for a moment, recalling a dream she had recently, and responded, "You might be onto something. Perhaps we missed the time when they were bringing in the dead zombies, but then again, I could be mistaken."

Looking around cautiously to ensure that no one was watching them, Adelmo and Lana cautiously approached the door handle of the building. The sight of a live zombie being dragged inside had left them feeling uneasy and unsure of what to expect next. Lana couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off, especially after her dream seemed to align with the strange events unfolding before them.

With a sense of trepidation, Adelmo and Lana hesitantly entered the building, unsure of what awaited them inside. The sight of a live zombie being brought in by a group of people had sparked a sense of unease and curiosity within them. As they stepped inside, they braced themselves for whatever mysteries lay ahead, hoping to uncover the truth behind the bizarre scene they had just witnessed.
