Chapter 112

Natasha's POV

"I'm sorry, this happened to you?"

I whispered to Xavier who was bedridden, Different pipes and wires were attached to his body. The only thing that I could hear was the beeping sound of the machine, and my own voice.

"I hope you wake up soon, Jayden misses you, I miss you too."

"I heard people can hear when they are in a coma." Connor walked in.

"Hi." I smiled before facing Xavier.

"I'm sorry I wasn't there to protect you." Connor said and I looked at him.

He had the guilty expression, something was eating him up.

"It's not your fault, if it's someone's fault then it's mine for not being able to stand up for myself."

That's why I was now determined to do whatever it takes to train hard, I wouldn't let the dark force have his way whoever he was.

Gabriel alone turned her life this way. I needed to be prepared to defend my mate and my family.

Connor sighed deeply and I glanced at him, he fiddled with his hands before staring at me.

"Do you have something to say to me?" I asked him.

He looked away, his face sore. I didn't get why he was reacting that way.

"You know we might not be that close but with all we've been through-"

"It's best we should be close, so you can tell me whatever it is that is bothering you." I assured him.

Connor kept mute and I didn't want to press the issue. I stood up so he could have space with Xavier but he called when I was about to leave.

"Can you please not order for Vanessa to be killed?" He said sadly and I turned around.

"Why?" I said abruptly.

"I can't say the reason but can you please not take her live." He pleaded.

From the moment I stepped my feet in the Storm Pack till now, this was the first time I will be seeing Connor looked devastated and tired which made me more curious about his request.

"With her offence, do you think she should still live Connor?"

"I…" He was speechless.

"Do you think she should leave Connor, I'm not asking you as Natasha I'm asking you as Luna to Beta?"

He looked away, his head bowed meaning he got my question. I was going to give my judgement without being sentimental, Xavier almost lost his life because of her behaviour.

"LUNA!!"

"Susan!" I ran to hug her.

"Welcome back Luna!" She greeted me excitedly.

"I told you not to call me that." I chuckled.

"We were all scared, I prayed earnestly for you to be safe. Alpha wasn't himself at all."

"Have your seat Luna, let me serve you some fruits." She offered.

"Thank you for taking care of Jayden and the house."

She was indeed a mother figure, I heard she looked after Jayden and she did a good job because he was more chubbier than before.

"I heard Alpha Gabriel is now killed, you can't believe how relieved I am by a person's death." She fanned herself with her hand.

I forgot to ask Ryan how he found Gabriel and killed him. I made a mental note to do that when we see, since he wasn't home at the moment.

Susan passed me a bowl of berries, Elsa and Lisa appeared. Jayden was with Elsa. When he saw me he started crying. He wanted me to carry him. I took him from her and gave him some berries.

"What are you guys talking about?" Lisa went to assist Susan with the flour she was now mixing.

Lisa went to join them. She assisted in whisking the eggs while I sat and played with Jayden who was munching on the berries.

"About Gabriel." Susan answered.

"He is dead now, you don't have to worry anymore Natasha." Lisa turned to look at me before continuing with what she was doing.

"I hope he stays ded, Alpha Ryan went through a lot bringing you back." Elsa chipped in.

"I don't blame Irene for killing her mate, that bastard needed to be killed." Lisa added.

The berry in my mouth fell down, Jayden giggled at me.

"What did you say!" I screeched.

"Oops." Elsa clucked her tongue and whistled.

"You…um.. didn't know?" Lisa chuckled nervously.

"Irene was the one who killed Gabriel? Is she hurt? Someone please tell me what's going on here." I panicked.

Why did Ryan leave that part?

Lisa quickly corrected that Irene was fine and was in their house. I sighed and continued with my berries, everything seemed different since I left.

Xavier is in a coma and now I find out that my cousin had killed her mate.

How did she do it?

Gabriel was a strong man. How can a tiny Irene kill him?

"I don't blame her either, I would have cooked that man a long time ago if I was his mate." Elsa shivered.

"I'm not blaming her." I clarified. "I'm just shocked." Although Irene was fierce, she doesn't look like one to kill.

I had to go check on her after Ryan cleared me, I was confined in the house. The security of the house was now tight; only the insiders had access to the house.

Lisa's ringing tone distracted me from my thoughts and I fed Jayden the last berry in the bowl.

"Natasha we have good news!" Lisa said excitedly.

"Dante and Liam find out those who hosted Gabriel in the pack, more traitors to get rid of."
